झारखंड में जेपीएससी-जेएसएससी की भर्ती परीक्षाओं में कथित धांधली और अनियमितताओं के खिलाफ कई दिनों से चल रहा छात्रों का आंदोलन आखिरकार खत्म हो गया है। जेपीएससी-जेएसएससी रिफॉर्म मंच ने मंगलवार को आंदोलन समाप्त करने का ऐलान किया। सरकार की ओर से छात्रों की लगभग सभी प्रमुख मांगें मान लिए जाने के बाद राजधानी के जयपाल सिंह मुंडा स्टेडियम में पिछले 25 जुलाई से जारी आंदोलन खत्म हो गया।

  


सरकार को दो महीने का अल्टीमेटम
जेपीएससी-जेएसएससी रिफॉर्म मंच ने मंगलवार को आंदोलन समाप्त करने का ऐलान किया। इससे एक दिन पहले सोमवार देर शाम देवेंद्रनाथ गुट ने भी अपना आंदोलन खत्म कर दिया था। अब छात्रों ने राज्य सरकार को मामले की उच्चस्तरीय जांच पूरी करने के लिए दो महीने का समय दिया है। मंच ने साफ कर दिया है कि अगर तय समय में निष्पक्ष जांच पूरी नहीं हुई, तो छात्र फिर बड़ी संख्या में रांची पहुंचेंगे और इस बार सीबीआई जांच उनकी मुख्य मांग होगी।

  

जांच पूरी नहीं होने पर फिर आंदोलन की चेतावनी
जेपीएससी-जेएसएससी रिफॉर्म मंच की कोर कमेटी की बैठक में आंदोलन को फिलहाल खत्म करने का फैसला लिया गया। छात्रों का कहना है कि राज्य सरकार ने उनकी मांगों को लेकर कई बड़े कदम उठाए हैं, इसलिए उसे मामले की जांच पूरी करने के लिए थोड़ा समय दिया जाना चाहिए। छात्रों ने कहा कि सरकार को दो महीने के भीतर जेपीएससी-जेएसएससी से जुड़े मामलों की निष्पक्ष जांच पूरी करनी होगी। अगर ऐसा नहीं होता है तो मंच दोबारा बड़ी संख्या में छात्रों को एकजुट करेगा और राजधानी रांची में जोरदार आंदोलन किया जाएगा। उस समय सीबीआई जांच की मांग आंदोलन का मुख्य मुद्दा होगी।

  

25 जुलाई से धरने पर बैठे थे छात्र
बता दें कि छात्र पिछले 25 जुलाई से जयपाल सिंह मुंडा स्टेडियम में धरना और प्रदर्शन कर रहे थे। उनका आंदोलन झारखंड में प्रतियोगी परीक्षाओं में कथित गड़बड़ी और भर्ती प्रक्रिया में पारदर्शिता की मांग को लेकर चल रहा था। लगातार कई दिनों तक चले इस आंदोलन के बाद सरकार और छात्रों के बीच बातचीत का रास्ता खुला और सरकार ने छात्रों की कई प्रमुख मांगों को स्वीकार किया।

भारत में अमेरिकी राजदूत और दक्षिण एवं मध्य एशिया के लिए राष्ट्रपति ट्रंप के विशेष दूत सर्जियो गोर आज (बुधवार, 19 अगस्त) को दो दिवसीय दौरे पर जम्मू-कश्मीर और लद्दाख पहुंचेंगे। वह इस दौरान जम्मू-कश्मीर के उपराज्यपाल मनोज सिन्हा और मुख्यमंत्री उमर अब्दुला से मिलेंगे। गुरुवार को वह लद्दाख का भी दौरा करेंगे। पदभार संभालने के बाद उनका यह पहला कश्मीर का पहला दौरा है।

  

उपराज्यपाल और सीएम से होगी मुलाकात
जनवरी में भारत में 27वें अमेरिकी राजदूत के तौर पर औपचारिक रूप से पद संभालने के बाद कश्मीर घाटी का यह सर्जियो गोर का पहला दौरा होगा। वे दक्षिण और मध्य एशिया के लिए विशेष दूत के तौर पर भी काम करते हैं। गोर के 19 अगस्त की दोपहर को पहुंचने का कार्यक्रम है, जिसके बाद वे उपराज्यपाल मनोज सिन्हा से मिलेंगे और मुख्यमंत्री उमर अब्दुल्ला से भी मुलाकात करेंगे। जिस होटल में वे रात भर रुकेंगे, वहां भी उनकी कुछ बैठकें तय हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि उनके 20 अगस्त को लद्दाख के लिए रवाना होने की संभावना है।

  

अहम है सर्जियो गोर का दौरा

राहुल ने ओबीसी विभाग के नेताओं को निर्देश दिए कि अपने इलाकों में लोगों को जाति जनगणना में ओबीसी कॉलम नहीं होने को लेकर जागरूक करें। राहुल बोले कुछ दिनों पहले छात्रों के आंदोलन में लोग सड़कों पर आए और सरकार को झुकना पड़ा। ओबीसी समाज की आबादी पचास फीसदी से ज्यादा है। अगर वो सड़क पर आ गए तो मोदी सरकार को झुकना ही पड़ेगा। 
पहली बार जाति जनगणना
पिछले साल मोदी सरकार ने आजाद भारत में पहली बार जाति जनगणना करवाने का फैसला किया था। जनगणना के पहले चरण में मकानों की गिनती का काम पूरा हो चुका है। दूसरे चरण के लिए चालीस सवालों की सूची पी पिछले हफ्ते जारी की गई थी। इस सूची में एससी, एसटी की तरह ओबीसी के लिए अलग से कोई श्रेणी नहीं है बल्कि जाति बताने का विकल्प दिया गया है। देश के पहाड़ी राज्यों में जनगणना का दूसरा चरण एक सितंबर से शुरू होगा। महीने भर चलने वाली यह प्रक्रिया देश के बाकी हिस्सों में एक फरवरी से शुरू होगी।

There are athletes who chase medals, and there are athletes who build a movement. In Jammu & Kashmir, Faheem Masood Shah has quietly become both.
Faheem's latest outing came at the Himadari Ice Rink in Dehradun, an international-standard facility that hosted a national IcestockSport tournament featuring squads from Karnataka, Maharashtra, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Goa, Uttarakhand, Delhi and other states. Leading Jammu & Kashmir as captain, Faheem returned home with two gold medals, two silver medals and a bronze — a result that surprised no one who has followed his decade-long career on the ice.
Born in 1992 in Batamaloo, Srinagar, Faheem's introduction to competitive sport had nothing to do with ice. Football, cricket, rugby and athletics filled his childhood, sharpening the reflexes and competitive instinct that would later define his icestock game. It was during a snow rugby event in Gulmarg in 2014 that he first picked up an icestock — handed to him, almost by chance, by Manfred Schafer, then head of the International Federation of IcestockSport. His first throw hit the target. He has barely stopped since.
What followed was over a decade of steady, often unglamorous graft: training on poorly maintained ice, competing with borrowed gear, and traveling to international meets on shoestring budgets, all in a country where winter sports infrastructure remains thin, and in a region where it is thinner still.
The results, however, tell their own story. Faheem has represented India in more than 200 international matches and picked up medals across three continents. A career highlight came at the 2025 World Icestock Championship in Kapfenberg & Stanz, Austria, where he helped India to a team bronze medal and a fourth-place finish in Team Long Distance, lifting India to a Top-7 world ranking in the Team Game category — one of the strongest results posted by an Indian side at that level.
Away from the rink, Faheem has built an equally serious second career. He holds a degree in Computer Engineering and a master's degree in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, has worked as a programmer and certified UX designer, and is an independent researcher with contributions to published research. Few of his rivals on the ice, in India or abroad, carry a resume quite like it.
Yet those who know him say it is his work off the rink that matters most to him. Through the Vaadi E Kashmir Foundation, Faheem is involved in youth development, digital literacy and community sports programmes across the Valley, and is a familiar sight coaching children on makeshift rinks after his own competitions wrap up. Kids in Gulmarg and Srinagar follow his results closely; for many, he has become proof that a path exists — even from a region with little winter sports tradition and even less support.
"We're not that far behind," Faheem has said of India's standing in the sport. "We just need people to believe in us."
With the Dehradun tournament now added to an already long list of national titles, Faheem's ambitions have not slowed. The European Championships are next on his calendar, with Olympic qualification the ultimate target — a goal he has framed not as a personal milestone, but as a message to "every kid who thinks they can't make it because they're from Kashmir."

दुनिया के सबसे पुराने लोकतंत्र अमेरिका में चुनावी पहचान को लेकर चल रही बहस के बीच राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप ने भारत के चुनावी व्यवस्था की तारीफ की है। ट्रंप ने भारत के चुनाव सिस्टम का ज़िक्र करते हुए अमेरिका में वोटिंग के नियमों में बदलाव की अपनी मांग दोहराई है। यही नहीं, ट्रंप ने भारत के मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार का नाम लिया है। ट्रंप ने कहा है कि भारत में इतनी बड़ी आबादी चुनाव में हिस्सा ले सकती है और वहां वोटर की पहचान को लेकर स्पष्ट व्यवस्था है, तो अमेरिका में ऐसा क्यों नहीं हो सकता?

डोनाल्ड ट्रंप ने अमेरिका में वोटिंग के नियम कड़े करने और 'सेव अमेरिका एक्ट'  लागू करने की मांग करते हुए भारत की चुनाव व्यवस्था की तारीफ की है। अपने सोशल मीडिया प्लेटफॉर्म 'ट्रुथ सोशल' पर ट्रंप ने लिखा कि भारत के मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार ने उनकी सरकार से पूछा था कि अमेरिका में बिना किसी फोटो पहचान पत्र के चुनाव कैसे कराए जा सकते हैं।

  

वेलिड फ़ोटो आईडी की अनिवार्यता का भी ज़िक्र
ट्रंप ने सोशल मीडिया पोस्ट में दावा किया कि भारत के हालिया आम चुनाव में करीब 64.6 करोड़ लोगों ने मतदान किया और एक प्रतिशत से भी कम मतदाताओं ने डाक मतपत्र का इस्तेमाल किया। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि हर मतदाता के लिए वैध फोटो पहचान पत्र जरूरी था। हमें अभी 'द सेव अमेरिका एक्ट' पास करने की जरूरत है। ट्रंप ने भारत के चुनावी मॉडल को अमेरिका में अनिवार्य फोटो पहचान की जरूरत के समर्थन में उदाहरण के तौर पर पेश किया। उनका कहना है कि इससे चुनाव में धोखाधड़ी की आशंका को कम किया जा सकता है।

ट्रंप जिस सेव अमेरिका एक्ट के समर्थन में लगातार आवाज उठा रहे हैं, उसका पूरा नाम सेफगार्ड अमेरिकन वोटर एलिजीबिलिटी एक्ट है। प्रस्तावित कानून के तहत अमेरिका में मतदान के लिए पंजीकरण कराने वाले लोगों को अपनी नागरिकता का प्रमाण देना होगा। इसके अलावा देशभर में मतदाता पहचान पत्र की व्यवस्था लागू करने का प्रस्ताव है। कानून डाक से मतदान की सुविधा पर भी कड़े प्रतिबंध लगाने की दिशा में है। ट्रंप इसे चुनावी धोखाधड़ी रोकने के लिए जरूरी कदम बताते हैं।

  

अमेरिका में वोट डालने के क्या नियम हैं?
अमेरिका में भारत की तरह पूरे देश में एक जैसा वोटर आईडी नियम नहीं है। संघीय कानून के तहत राष्ट्रीय चुनाव में वोट डालने वाला व्यक्ति अमेरिकी नागरिक होना चाहिए, लेकिन नागरिकता का अनिवार्य प्रमाण देना जरूरी नहीं है। प्रस्तावित क़ानून में इसे अनिवार्य करने की बात कही गई है। वहां चुनाव मुख्य रूप से राज्यों और स्थानीय चुनाव अधिकारियों के स्तर पर संचालित होते हैं। इसलिए वोट डालने के लिए पहचान पत्र की ज़रूरत भी राज्य के हिसाब से बदलती है। अमेरिकी सरकार की वेबसाइट के मुताबिक, कुछ राज्यों में मतदान केंद्र पर फोटो आईडी दिखानी होती है। इनमें ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस, राज्य सरकार का आईडी कार्ड या पासपोर्ट जैसे दस्तावेज़ शामिल हो सकते हैं। नेशनल कॉन्फ्रेंस ऑफ स्टेट लेजिस्लेटर्स यानी एनसीएसएल के मुताबिक 2026 में 36 राज्यों में मतदान केंद्र पर किसी न किसी तरह की पहचान दिखाने का नियम है, जबकि 14 राज्यों और वॉशिंगटन डीसी में मतदाता की पहचान दूसरे तरीकों से सत्यापित की जाती है।

ट्रंप पर भड़की कांग्रेस

11 दिन में 1,559 दिव्यांगजनों को मिला रोजगार और स्वरोजगार

लखनऊ। योगी सरकार की दिव्यांगजनों को आत्मनिर्भर और सम्मानजनक जीवन देने की मुहिम को बड़ी सफलता मिली है। उत्तर प्रदेश कौशल विकास मिशन की ओर से 3 से 13 अगस्त तक चलाए गए ‘दिव्यांगजन रोजगार अभियान 3.0’ के तहत महज 11 दिनों में प्रदेश के सभी 75 जिलों के 1,559 दिव्यांगजन रोजगार और स्वरोजगार से जुड़े। इनमें 1,021 दिव्यांगजनों को नौकरी के अवसर मिले, जबकि 538 दिव्यांगजनों को स्वरोजगार के लिए सरकारी योजनाओं और ऋण सुविधाओं से जोड़ा गया।
  
प्रदेश के व्यावसायिक शिक्षा, कौशल विकास एवं उद्यमशीलता राज्यमंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) कपिल देव अग्रवाल ने कहा कि सरकार का संकल्प है कि कोई भी दिव्यांगजन रोजगार से वंचित न रहे। अभियान का उद्देश्य केवल नौकरी उपलब्ध कराना नहीं, बल्कि दिव्यांग युवाओं को आत्मविश्वास, सम्मान और आत्मनिर्भरता के साथ आगे बढ़ने का अवसर देना है।
  

  
-  10 से 18 हजार रुपये तक का वेतन
  
अभियान के दौरान विभिन्न जिलों में रोजगार मेले, प्लेसमेंट ड्राइव और रोजगार कैंप लगाए गए। निजी क्षेत्र की कंपनियों ने इनमें भाग लेकर मौके पर ही अभ्यर्थियों का चयन किया और कई चयनित युवाओं को जॉइनिंग लेटर भी दिए। हेल्थकेयर, फाइनेंस, इंश्योरेंस और टेलीकॉम समेत विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में डाटा एंट्री ऑपरेटर, कस्टमर सपोर्ट एक्जीक्यूटिव, हेल्थकेयर असिस्टेंट, ड्रेसर, टेलीकॉलर, मशीन ऑपरेटर, तकनीकी सहायक और हेल्पर जैसे पदों पर अवसर दिए गए। चयनित अभ्यर्थियों को 10,000 से 18,000 रुपये तक का मासिक वेतन ऑफर किया गया।

अभियान में नौकरी के साथ स्वरोजगार पर भी विशेष जोर रहा। मुख्यमंत्री युवा उद्यमी योजना के तहत 538 से अधिक दिव्यांगजनों को जोड़ा गया। उन्हें मोबाइल रिपेयरिंग, इलेक्ट्रिशियन, सिलाई-कढ़ाई, जनसेवा केंद्र, डेयरी और पशुपालन जैसे क्षेत्रों में अपना काम शुरू करने के लिए ऋण एवं सरकारी योजनाओं की जानकारी दी गई। पात्र लाभार्थियों को ऋण स्वीकृति दिलाने की दिशा में भी कार्रवाई की गई।

अभियान में कानपुर नगर 149 चयन के साथ प्रदेश में पहले स्थान पर रहा। इसके अलावा आजमगढ़ में 77, अमरोहा में 69, बरेली में 63 और सुलतानपुर में 56 दिव्यांगजन रोजगार एवं स्वरोजगार से जुड़े।
  
अभियान को प्रभावी बनाने के लिए जिला स्तरीय अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों ने जरूरत पड़ने पर लाभार्थियों के घर तक पहुंचकर व्यक्तिगत काउंसिलिंग की। मोबाइल बंद होने या संपर्क न हो पाने वाले दिव्यांगजनों से होम विजिट के जरिए संपर्क किया गया। उनकी रुचि, योग्यता और जरूरत के अनुसार रोजगार और स्वरोजगार के विकल्प बताए गए।

कौशल विकास मिशन की ओर से दिव्यांगजन रोजगार अभियान के पहले और दूसरे चरण में रोजगार से जुड़े 2,000 से अधिक दिव्यांगजनों की वर्तमान स्थिति की भी ट्रैकिंग की जा रही है। मिशन निदेशक पुलकित खरे ने कहा कि अभियान 3.0 में 75 जिलों में 1,559 दिव्यांगजनों का रोजगार और स्वरोजगार से जुड़ना बड़ी उपलब्धि है। मिशन का प्रयास है कि दिव्यांगजनों को उनकी क्षमता और रुचि के अनुरूप बेहतर अवसर उपलब्ध कराए जाएं।

झारखंड में जेपीएससी-जेएसएससी की भर्ती परीक्षाओं में कथित धांधली और अनियमितताओं के खिलाफ कई दिनों से चल रहा छात्रों का आंदोलन आखिरकार खत्म हो गया है। जेपीएससी-जेएसएससी रिफॉर्म मंच ने मंगलवार को आंदोलन समाप्त करने का ऐलान किया। सरकार की ओर से छात्रों की लगभग सभी प्रमुख मांगें मान लिए जाने के बाद राजधानी के जयपाल सिंह मुंडा स्टेडियम में पिछले 25 जुलाई से जारी आंदोलन खत्म हो गया।

  


सरकार को दो महीने का अल्टीमेटम
जेपीएससी-जेएसएससी रिफॉर्म मंच ने मंगलवार को आंदोलन समाप्त करने का ऐलान किया। इससे एक दिन पहले सोमवार देर शाम देवेंद्रनाथ गुट ने भी अपना आंदोलन खत्म कर दिया था। अब छात्रों ने राज्य सरकार को मामले की उच्चस्तरीय जांच पूरी करने के लिए दो महीने का समय दिया है। मंच ने साफ कर दिया है कि अगर तय समय में निष्पक्ष जांच पूरी नहीं हुई, तो छात्र फिर बड़ी संख्या में रांची पहुंचेंगे और इस बार सीबीआई जांच उनकी मुख्य मांग होगी।

  

जांच पूरी नहीं होने पर फिर आंदोलन की चेतावनी
जेपीएससी-जेएसएससी रिफॉर्म मंच की कोर कमेटी की बैठक में आंदोलन को फिलहाल खत्म करने का फैसला लिया गया। छात्रों का कहना है कि राज्य सरकार ने उनकी मांगों को लेकर कई बड़े कदम उठाए हैं, इसलिए उसे मामले की जांच पूरी करने के लिए थोड़ा समय दिया जाना चाहिए। छात्रों ने कहा कि सरकार को दो महीने के भीतर जेपीएससी-जेएसएससी से जुड़े मामलों की निष्पक्ष जांच पूरी करनी होगी। अगर ऐसा नहीं होता है तो मंच दोबारा बड़ी संख्या में छात्रों को एकजुट करेगा और राजधानी रांची में जोरदार आंदोलन किया जाएगा। उस समय सीबीआई जांच की मांग आंदोलन का मुख्य मुद्दा होगी।

  

25 जुलाई से धरने पर बैठे थे छात्र
बता दें कि छात्र पिछले 25 जुलाई से जयपाल सिंह मुंडा स्टेडियम में धरना और प्रदर्शन कर रहे थे। उनका आंदोलन झारखंड में प्रतियोगी परीक्षाओं में कथित गड़बड़ी और भर्ती प्रक्रिया में पारदर्शिता की मांग को लेकर चल रहा था। लगातार कई दिनों तक चले इस आंदोलन के बाद सरकार और छात्रों के बीच बातचीत का रास्ता खुला और सरकार ने छात्रों की कई प्रमुख मांगों को स्वीकार किया।

भारत में अमेरिकी राजदूत और दक्षिण एवं मध्य एशिया के लिए राष्ट्रपति ट्रंप के विशेष दूत सर्जियो गोर आज (बुधवार, 19 अगस्त) को दो दिवसीय दौरे पर जम्मू-कश्मीर और लद्दाख पहुंचेंगे। वह इस दौरान जम्मू-कश्मीर के उपराज्यपाल मनोज सिन्हा और मुख्यमंत्री उमर अब्दुला से मिलेंगे। गुरुवार को वह लद्दाख का भी दौरा करेंगे। पदभार संभालने के बाद उनका यह पहला कश्मीर का पहला दौरा है।

  

उपराज्यपाल और सीएम से होगी मुलाकात
जनवरी में भारत में 27वें अमेरिकी राजदूत के तौर पर औपचारिक रूप से पद संभालने के बाद कश्मीर घाटी का यह सर्जियो गोर का पहला दौरा होगा। वे दक्षिण और मध्य एशिया के लिए विशेष दूत के तौर पर भी काम करते हैं। गोर के 19 अगस्त की दोपहर को पहुंचने का कार्यक्रम है, जिसके बाद वे उपराज्यपाल मनोज सिन्हा से मिलेंगे और मुख्यमंत्री उमर अब्दुल्ला से भी मुलाकात करेंगे। जिस होटल में वे रात भर रुकेंगे, वहां भी उनकी कुछ बैठकें तय हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि उनके 20 अगस्त को लद्दाख के लिए रवाना होने की संभावना है।

  

अहम है सर्जियो गोर का दौरा
सर्जियो गोर का जम्मू-कश्मीर और लद्दाख का दौरा कूटनीतिक और रणनीतिक लिहाज से बेहद महत्वपूर्ण माना जा रहा है। अगस्त 2019 में आर्टिकल 370 के निरस्तीकरण और इस क्षेत्र को केंद्र शासित प्रदेश में बदलने के बाद यह किसी अमेरिकी राजदूत का पहला सीधा दौरा है। जनवरी 2026 में अमेरिका के 27वें राजदूत के रूप में कार्यभार संभालने के बाद सर्जियो गोर की यह पहली कश्मीर और लद्दाख यात्रा है। इसके जरिए अमेरिका यह संकेत दे रहा है कि वह दक्षिण एशिया के रणनीतिक रूप से संवेदनशील इस क्षेत्र में अपनी कूटनीतिक दिलचस्पी और निरंतरता बनाए हुए है।

राहुल ने ओबीसी विभाग के नेताओं को निर्देश दिए कि अपने इलाकों में लोगों को जाति जनगणना में ओबीसी कॉलम नहीं होने को लेकर जागरूक करें। राहुल बोले कुछ दिनों पहले छात्रों के आंदोलन में लोग सड़कों पर आए और सरकार को झुकना पड़ा। ओबीसी समाज की आबादी पचास फीसदी से ज्यादा है। अगर वो सड़क पर आ गए तो मोदी सरकार को झुकना ही पड़ेगा। 
पहली बार जाति जनगणना
पिछले साल मोदी सरकार ने आजाद भारत में पहली बार जाति जनगणना करवाने का फैसला किया था। जनगणना के पहले चरण में मकानों की गिनती का काम पूरा हो चुका है। दूसरे चरण के लिए चालीस सवालों की सूची पी पिछले हफ्ते जारी की गई थी। इस सूची में एससी, एसटी की तरह ओबीसी के लिए अलग से कोई श्रेणी नहीं है बल्कि जाति बताने का विकल्प दिया गया है। देश के पहाड़ी राज्यों में जनगणना का दूसरा चरण एक सितंबर से शुरू होगा। महीने भर चलने वाली यह प्रक्रिया देश के बाकी हिस्सों में एक फरवरी से शुरू होगी।

There are athletes who chase medals, and there are athletes who build a movement. In Jammu & Kashmir, Faheem Masood Shah has quietly become both.
Faheem's latest outing came at the Himadari Ice Rink in Dehradun, an international-standard facility that hosted a national IcestockSport tournament featuring squads from Karnataka, Maharashtra, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Goa, Uttarakhand, Delhi and other states. Leading Jammu & Kashmir as captain, Faheem returned home with two gold medals, two silver medals and a bronze — a result that surprised no one who has followed his decade-long career on the ice.
Born in 1992 in Batamaloo, Srinagar, Faheem's introduction to competitive sport had nothing to do with ice. Football, cricket, rugby and athletics filled his childhood, sharpening the reflexes and competitive instinct that would later define his icestock game. It was during a snow rugby event in Gulmarg in 2014 that he first picked up an icestock — handed to him, almost by chance, by Manfred Schafer, then head of the International Federation of IcestockSport. His first throw hit the target. He has barely stopped since.
What followed was over a decade of steady, often unglamorous graft: training on poorly maintained ice, competing with borrowed gear, and traveling to international meets on shoestring budgets, all in a country where winter sports infrastructure remains thin, and in a region where it is thinner still.
The results, however, tell their own story. Faheem has represented India in more than 200 international matches and picked up medals across three continents. A career highlight came at the 2025 World Icestock Championship in Kapfenberg & Stanz, Austria, where he helped India to a team bronze medal and a fourth-place finish in Team Long Distance, lifting India to a Top-7 world ranking in the Team Game category — one of the strongest results posted by an Indian side at that level.
Away from the rink, Faheem has built an equally serious second career. He holds a degree in Computer Engineering and a master's degree in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, has worked as a programmer and certified UX designer, and is an independent researcher with contributions to published research. Few of his rivals on the ice, in India or abroad, carry a resume quite like it.
Yet those who know him say it is his work off the rink that matters most to him. Through the Vaadi E Kashmir Foundation, Faheem is involved in youth development, digital literacy and community sports programmes across the Valley, and is a familiar sight coaching children on makeshift rinks after his own competitions wrap up. Kids in Gulmarg and Srinagar follow his results closely; for many, he has become proof that a path exists — even from a region with little winter sports tradition and even less support.
"We're not that far behind," Faheem has said of India's standing in the sport. "We just need people to believe in us."
With the Dehradun tournament now added to an already long list of national titles, Faheem's ambitions have not slowed. The European Championships are next on his calendar, with Olympic qualification the ultimate target — a goal he has framed not as a personal milestone, but as a message to "every kid who thinks they can't make it because they're from Kashmir."

अमेरिका में भारत की तरह पूरे देश में एक जैसा वोटर आईडी नियम नहीं है। संघीय कानून के तहत राष्ट्रीय चुनाव में वोट डालने वाला व्यक्ति अमेरिकी नागरिक होना चाहिए, लेकिन नागरिकता का अनिवार्य प्रमाण देना जरूरी नहीं है। प्रस्तावित क़ानून में इसे अनिवार्य करने की बात कही गई है। वहां चुनाव मुख्य रूप से राज्यों और स्थानीय चुनाव अधिकारियों के स्तर पर संचालित होते हैं। इसलिए वोट डालने के लिए पहचान पत्र की ज़रूरत भी राज्य के हिसाब से बदलती है। अमेरिकी सरकार की वेबसाइट के मुताबिक, कुछ राज्यों में मतदान केंद्र पर फोटो आईडी दिखानी होती है। इनमें ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस, राज्य सरकार का आईडी कार्ड या पासपोर्ट जैसे दस्तावेज़ शामिल हो सकते हैं। नेशनल कॉन्फ्रेंस ऑफ स्टेट लेजिस्लेटर्स यानी एनसीएसएल के मुताबिक 2026 में 36 राज्यों में मतदान केंद्र पर किसी न किसी तरह की पहचान दिखाने का नियम है, जबकि 14 राज्यों और वॉशिंगटन डीसी में मतदाता की पहचान दूसरे तरीकों से सत्यापित की जाती है।

11 दिन में 1,559 दिव्यांगजनों को मिला रोजगार और स्वरोजगार

लखनऊ। योगी सरकार की दिव्यांगजनों को आत्मनिर्भर और सम्मानजनक जीवन देने की मुहिम को बड़ी सफलता मिली है। उत्तर प्रदेश कौशल विकास मिशन की ओर से 3 से 13 अगस्त तक चलाए गए ‘दिव्यांगजन रोजगार अभियान 3.0’ के तहत महज 11 दिनों में प्रदेश के सभी 75 जिलों के 1,559 दिव्यांगजन रोजगार और स्वरोजगार से जुड़े। इनमें 1,021 दिव्यांगजनों को नौकरी के अवसर मिले, जबकि 538 दिव्यांगजनों को स्वरोजगार के लिए सरकारी योजनाओं और ऋण सुविधाओं से जोड़ा गया।
  
प्रदेश के व्यावसायिक शिक्षा, कौशल विकास एवं उद्यमशीलता राज्यमंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) कपिल देव अग्रवाल ने कहा कि सरकार का संकल्प है कि कोई भी दिव्यांगजन रोजगार से वंचित न रहे। अभियान का उद्देश्य केवल नौकरी उपलब्ध कराना नहीं, बल्कि दिव्यांग युवाओं को आत्मविश्वास, सम्मान और आत्मनिर्भरता के साथ आगे बढ़ने का अवसर देना है।
  

  
-  10 से 18 हजार रुपये तक का वेतन
  
अभियान के दौरान विभिन्न जिलों में रोजगार मेले, प्लेसमेंट ड्राइव और रोजगार कैंप लगाए गए। निजी क्षेत्र की कंपनियों ने इनमें भाग लेकर मौके पर ही अभ्यर्थियों का चयन किया और कई चयनित युवाओं को जॉइनिंग लेटर भी दिए। हेल्थकेयर, फाइनेंस, इंश्योरेंस और टेलीकॉम समेत विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में डाटा एंट्री ऑपरेटर, कस्टमर सपोर्ट एक्जीक्यूटिव, हेल्थकेयर असिस्टेंट, ड्रेसर, टेलीकॉलर, मशीन ऑपरेटर, तकनीकी सहायक और हेल्पर जैसे पदों पर अवसर दिए गए। चयनित अभ्यर्थियों को 10,000 से 18,000 रुपये तक का मासिक वेतन ऑफर किया गया।

अभियान में नौकरी के साथ स्वरोजगार पर भी विशेष जोर रहा। मुख्यमंत्री युवा उद्यमी योजना के तहत 538 से अधिक दिव्यांगजनों को जोड़ा गया। उन्हें मोबाइल रिपेयरिंग, इलेक्ट्रिशियन, सिलाई-कढ़ाई, जनसेवा केंद्र, डेयरी और पशुपालन जैसे क्षेत्रों में अपना काम शुरू करने के लिए ऋण एवं सरकारी योजनाओं की जानकारी दी गई। पात्र लाभार्थियों को ऋण स्वीकृति दिलाने की दिशा में भी कार्रवाई की गई।

अभियान में कानपुर नगर 149 चयन के साथ प्रदेश में पहले स्थान पर रहा। इसके अलावा आजमगढ़ में 77, अमरोहा में 69, बरेली में 63 और सुलतानपुर में 56 दिव्यांगजन रोजगार एवं स्वरोजगार से जुड़े।
  
अभियान को प्रभावी बनाने के लिए जिला स्तरीय अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों ने जरूरत पड़ने पर लाभार्थियों के घर तक पहुंचकर व्यक्तिगत काउंसिलिंग की। मोबाइल बंद होने या संपर्क न हो पाने वाले दिव्यांगजनों से होम विजिट के जरिए संपर्क किया गया। उनकी रुचि, योग्यता और जरूरत के अनुसार रोजगार और स्वरोजगार के विकल्प बताए गए।

कौशल विकास मिशन की ओर से दिव्यांगजन रोजगार अभियान के पहले और दूसरे चरण में रोजगार से जुड़े 2,000 से अधिक दिव्यांगजनों की वर्तमान स्थिति की भी ट्रैकिंग की जा रही है। मिशन निदेशक पुलकित खरे ने कहा कि अभियान 3.0 में 75 जिलों में 1,559 दिव्यांगजनों का रोजगार और स्वरोजगार से जुड़ना बड़ी उपलब्धि है। मिशन का प्रयास है कि दिव्यांगजनों को उनकी क्षमता और रुचि के अनुरूप बेहतर अवसर उपलब्ध कराए जाएं।
