Mettur Dam’s Water Level Rises By 30ft In Seven Days
The water level in the Stanley Reservoir at Mettur dam rose by 30 feet in a span of seven days (from July 15 to July 22), following the release of water by Karnataka from the Krishnaraja Sagar and Kabini dams.
Karnataka released water at the rate of 20,000 cusecs into the river Cauvery on July 14. Later, they increased it up to 80,000 cusecs.
Mettur dam’s water level increased steadily as the inflow level was higher than the outflow level. A water resources department official said the water level at the dam was 44.62 feet against its full capacity of 120 feet.
It crossed 75 feet on Monday. The inflow was measured at a rate of 64,033 cusecs while the discharging rate for drinking water purposes is being maintained at 1,000 cusecs” he added.
An official from the Central Water Commission said officials in Karnataka reduced the water discharging level from 80,000 cusecs to 63,101 cusecs on Monday. While water was released from the KRS dam at the rate of 35,917 cusecs, the rest was released from the Kabini dam.
“The water inflow level at Biligundlu - the entry point of Tamil Nadu for the Cauvery River in Krishnagiri district, measured at the rate of 65,000 cusecs on Monday evening,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Dharmapuri district administration continued the ban on bathing, fishing, and coracle riding at Hogenakkal for the seventh day on Monday. District collector K Santhi imposed the ban on July 15 due to the increased inflow of water in the river.

पीएम ने आगे कहा कि शास्त्र इस बात के गवाह हैं कि जो शक्ति को खत्म करने का विचार रखते हैं उनका विनाश जरूर होता है। उन्होंने कहा कि इंडिया गठबंधन के ऐसे आइडियाज को हराने की शुरुआत तमिलनाडु से होगी। 19 अप्रैल को सबसे पहले तमिलनाडु इन्हें हराने की शुरूआत करेगा। पीएम ने कहा कि गठबंधन का बयान पूरी तरह से हिंदू धर्म और हिंदू आस्था का अपमान है। हिंदू धर्म में ‘शक्ति’ का मतलब है मातृ शक्ति, नारी शक्ति है. लेकिन इंडिया गठबंधन इस शक्ति को खत्म कर देना चाहता है। पीएम मोदी ने कहा कि मोदी, देश की नारी शक्ति की हर परेशानी के आगे मोदी ढाल बनकर खड़ा है।
तमिलनाडु में राज्यपाल और द्रविड़ मुनेत्र कषगम (डीएमके) सरकार के बीच विवाद फिर सामने आया है। दरअसल, विधानसभा में राज्यपाल आरएन रवि ने सोमवार को अपना अभिभाषण कुछ ही मिनटों के भीतर समाप्त कर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि वह अभिभाषण की सामग्री को लेकर सरकार से सहमत नहीं हैं।उन्होंने 'राष्ट्रगान’ का कथित तौर पर सम्मान न करने के लिए डीएमके शासन की आलोचना भी की।बता दें कि तमिलनाडु के राज्यपाल आरएन रवि और मुख्यमंत्री एमके स्टालिन के बीच कई बार तनातनी हो चुकी है।
हर साल जब विधान सभा बुलाई जाती है तो राज्यपाल की ओर से अभिभाषण देने की परंपरा रही है। इसमें राज्य सरकार की नीतियां, कार्ययोजनाएं और उपलब्धियां शामिल होती हैं। लेकिन तमिलनाडु में इसके उलट देखा गया।चूंकि यह चालू वर्ष का पहला सत्र था, इसलिए राज्यपाल को संबोधन के लिए आमंत्रित किया गया था। वे सुबह 10 बजे शुरू हुए। सबसे पहले तमिल थाई अभिवादन गाया गया। उसके बाद राज्यपाल आरएन रवि का संबोधन हुआ। इसकी शुरुआत भी तमिल में हुई। नमस्कार अध्यक्ष महोदय, मुख्यमंत्रियों और सदन के सदस्यों।राज्यपाल रवि ने कहा, मेरे बार-बार अनुरोध और सलाह के बाद भी राष्ट्रगान के प्रति उचित सम्मान नहीं दिखाया जा रहा है। इसके साथ ही संबोधन की शुरुआत और अंत में इसे बजाने के मेरे अनुरोध को नजरअंदाज भी कर दिया गया है।
उन्होंने कहा, 'इस अभिभाषण में कई ऐसे अंश हैं जिनसे मैं तथ्यात्मक और नैतिक आधार पर सहमत नहीं हूं। मेरा इसे पढ़ना एक संवैधानिक उपहास होगा। इसलिए सभा के सम्मान में, मैं अपना अभिभाषण यहीं समाप्त करता हूं। लोगों की भलाई के लिए इस सदन में सार्थक और स्वस्थ चर्चा की कामना करता हूं।' इसमें उन्होंने 1 मिनट 19 सेकेंड का समय लिया। राज्यपाल का अभिभाषण तत्काल समाप्त होने के बाद विधानसभा अध्यक्ष एम. अप्पावु ने तमिल में भाषण को पूरा पढ़ा।

इस बार के लोकसभा चुनाव में भारतीय जनता पार्टी ने दक्षिण बारतीय राज्यों पर ज्यादा फोकस किया है। बीजेपीने साउथ के प्रमुख राज्य तमिलनाडु पर काफी फोकस कर रखा है। कन्याकुमारी में मोदी की हाल ही में हुई रैली और तमिलनाडु में हाल फिलहाल में उनकी लगातार यात्राओं से पता चलता है कि बीजेपी यहां ज्यादा से ज्यादा सीटें जीतकर अपने 400 पार के लक्ष्य को मजबूत करना चाहती है। बीजेपी ने 400 पार के लक्ष्य को साधने के लिए तमिलनाडु में पीएमके यानी पट्टाली मक्कल काची पार्टी के साथ गठबंधन भी किया है। इसी क्रम में पीएम मोदी आज एक बार फिर तमिलनाडु पहुंचे। पीएम मोदी ने यहां सेलम में एक चुनावी रैली को संबोधित किया। पीएम मोदी ने कहा कि तमिलनाडु कह रहा अबकी बार 400 पार।
सेलम में जनसभा को संबोधित करते हुए पीएम ने कहा कि लोगों से मिल रहे जनसमर्थन ने डीएमके सरकार की नींद उड़ा दी है। तमिलनाडु ने फैसला कर लिया है कि एक-एक वोट बीजेपी-एनडीए को जाएगा। तमिलनाडु निर्णय कर चुका है कि अबकी बार 400 पार। अपने संबोधन में उन्होंने विपक्षी गठबंधन पर जमकर निशाना साधा। पीएम ने कहा कि तमिलनाडु से मिल रहे समर्थन को देखकर इंडिया गठबंधन के लोगों को काफी दिक्कत हो रही है। पीएम ने कहा कहा कि पूरा देश देख रहा है कि कैसे बीजेपी को इस राज्य में प्यार मिल रहा है।
हिंदू धर्म को बनाया जा रहा निशाना-पीएम मोदी
प्रधानमंत्री ने विपक्ष पर निशाना साधते हुए कहा, अभी तो चुनाव अभियान की शुरुआत हुई है, लेकिन विपक्षी गठबंधन की योजना मुंबई में हुई उनकी पहली रैली में ही खुलकर सामने आ गई है। ये कह रहे हैं कि हिंदू धर्म की जिस शक्ति में आस्था होती है, उन्हें इस शक्ति का विनाश करना है। हिंदू धर्म में शक्ति किसे कहते हैं, ये तमिलनाडु का हर व्यक्ति जानता है। इंडि अलायंस के लोग बार-बार जानबूझकर हिंदू धर्म का अपमान कर रहे हैं।
तमिलनाडु करेगा गठबंधन को हराने की शुरूआत
पीएम ने आगे कहा कि शास्त्र इस बात के गवाह हैं कि जो शक्ति को खत्म करने का विचार रखते हैं उनका विनाश जरूर होता है। उन्होंने कहा कि इंडिया गठबंधन के ऐसे आइडियाज को हराने की शुरुआत तमिलनाडु से होगी। 19 अप्रैल को सबसे पहले तमिलनाडु इन्हें हराने की शुरूआत करेगा। पीएम ने कहा कि गठबंधन का बयान पूरी तरह से हिंदू धर्म और हिंदू आस्था का अपमान है। हिंदू धर्म में ‘शक्ति’ का मतलब है मातृ शक्ति, नारी शक्ति है. लेकिन इंडिया गठबंधन इस शक्ति को खत्म कर देना चाहता है। पीएम मोदी ने कहा कि मोदी, देश की नारी शक्ति की हर परेशानी के आगे मोदी ढाल बनकर खड़ा है।
तमिलनाडु में राज्यपाल और द्रविड़ मुनेत्र कषगम (डीएमके) सरकार के बीच विवाद फिर सामने आया है। दरअसल, विधानसभा में राज्यपाल आरएन रवि ने सोमवार को अपना अभिभाषण कुछ ही मिनटों के भीतर समाप्त कर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि वह अभिभाषण की सामग्री को लेकर सरकार से सहमत नहीं हैं।उन्होंने 'राष्ट्रगान’ का कथित तौर पर सम्मान न करने के लिए डीएमके शासन की आलोचना भी की।बता दें कि तमिलनाडु के राज्यपाल आरएन रवि और मुख्यमंत्री एमके स्टालिन के बीच कई बार तनातनी हो चुकी है।
हर साल जब विधान सभा बुलाई जाती है तो राज्यपाल की ओर से अभिभाषण देने की परंपरा रही है। इसमें राज्य सरकार की नीतियां, कार्ययोजनाएं और उपलब्धियां शामिल होती हैं। लेकिन तमिलनाडु में इसके उलट देखा गया।चूंकि यह चालू वर्ष का पहला सत्र था, इसलिए राज्यपाल को संबोधन के लिए आमंत्रित किया गया था। वे सुबह 10 बजे शुरू हुए। सबसे पहले तमिल थाई अभिवादन गाया गया। उसके बाद राज्यपाल आरएन रवि का संबोधन हुआ। इसकी शुरुआत भी तमिल में हुई। नमस्कार अध्यक्ष महोदय, मुख्यमंत्रियों और सदन के सदस्यों।राज्यपाल रवि ने कहा, मेरे बार-बार अनुरोध और सलाह के बाद भी राष्ट्रगान के प्रति उचित सम्मान नहीं दिखाया जा रहा है। इसके साथ ही संबोधन की शुरुआत और अंत में इसे बजाने के मेरे अनुरोध को नजरअंदाज भी कर दिया गया है।
उन्होंने कहा, 'इस अभिभाषण में कई ऐसे अंश हैं जिनसे मैं तथ्यात्मक और नैतिक आधार पर सहमत नहीं हूं। मेरा इसे पढ़ना एक संवैधानिक उपहास होगा। इसलिए सभा के सम्मान में, मैं अपना अभिभाषण यहीं समाप्त करता हूं। लोगों की भलाई के लिए इस सदन में सार्थक और स्वस्थ चर्चा की कामना करता हूं।' इसमें उन्होंने 1 मिनट 19 सेकेंड का समय लिया। राज्यपाल का अभिभाषण तत्काल समाप्त होने के बाद विधानसभा अध्यक्ष एम. अप्पावु ने तमिल में भाषण को पूरा पढ़ा।
इस राज्य के गर्वनर ने ऐसा ही किया था
तमिलनाडु के राज्यपाल रवि ने विधानसभा अध्यक्ष एम अप्पावु, मुख्यमंत्री एम के स्टालिन और विधायकों को तमिल में शुभकामनाएं देने के बाद सरकार के साथ अपनी असहमति व्यक्त करने के कुछ ही मिनटों के भीतर अपना भाषण समाप्त कर दिया। हाल ही में, केरल के राज्यपाल आरिफ मोहम्मद खान ने भी अपना पारंपरिक संबोधन कुछ ही मिनटों में समाप्त कर दिया था और केवल अंतिम पैराग्राफ पढ़ा था।
राज्यपाल और राज्य सरकार के बीच पहले भी हो चुकी है तनातनी
बता दें कि तमिलनाडु के राज्यपाल आरएन रवि और मुख्यमंत्री एमके स्टालिन के बीच कई बार तनातनी हो चुकी है। वह नौकरी के बदलने नकदी और मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग केस में जेल में बंद बिजली व आबकारी मंत्री सेंथिल बालाजी को बिना सीएम की सलाह लिए सीधे बर्खास्त करने का आदेश देकर विवादों में आ गए थे। हालांकि, कुछ घंटों में ही राजभवन ने फैसले पर रोक लगाते हुए अटॉर्नी जनरल से सलाह लेने की बात कही थी। स्टालिन सरकार और कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता इस फैसले के कारण आरएन रवि पर लगातार हमलावर रहे हैं।

PM Modi will be visiting Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep for two days from January 2nd. He will inaugurate various developmental projects. Here is what PM Modi has to say:
“Over the next two days, I will be attending various programs in Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep andI look forward to being among the people of Lakshadweep. Development works worth Rs. 1150 crore would either be inaugurated or their foundation stones would be laid. These works include projects relating to better internet connectivity, ensuring clean drinking water supply, solar energy, healthcare, and more,”

PM Modi will reach Tamil Nadu on January 2nd to attend the 38th convocation ceremony of Bharathidasan University in Tiruchirappalli and give awards to students and address them. He will also inaugurate the new terminal at Tiruchirappalli. This terminal has been developed for over 1100 crore. This terminal can support over 44,00,000 passengers at a time. The PM will also dedicate several railway projects to the nation including - the doubling of 41.4 Km Salem–Magnesite Junction–Omalur–Mettur Dam section; the doubling of rail line section of 160 Km from Madurai - Tuticorin; three projects for rail line electrification viz Tiruchchirappalli- Manamadurai- Virudhunagar; Virudhunagar – Tenkasi Junction; Sengottai – Tenkasi Junction - Tirunelveli- Tiruchendur.
Modi will inaugurate the General Cargo Berth-II (Automobile Export/Import Terminal-II & Capital Dredging Phase-V) of Kamarajar Port and lay the foundation stone of important Petroleum and Natural Gas projects worth more than ₹9,000 crore, and the Demonstration Fast Reactor Fuel Reprocessing Plant (DFRP) at Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) in Kalpakkam. Apart from these, he will also inaugurate the 500-bed boys’ hostel ‘AMETHYST’ of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Tiruchirappalli.
. According to the official release, the PM will inaugurate the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fiber Connection (KLI - SOFC) project in a move to resolve the challenge of slow internet speed in the union territory.
He will also inaugurate the Low-Temperature Thermal Desalination (LTTD) plant at Kadmat, which will produce 1.5 lakh liters of clean drinking water every day, and the Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) in all households of Agatti and Minicoy islands.
“Other projects which are dedicated to Nation include the solar power plant at Kavaratti, which is the first-ever battery-backed solar power project of Lakshadweep. Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the renovation of Primary Health Care facility in Kalpeni and the construction of five model Anganwadi Centres (Nand Ghars) in the five islands of Androth, Chetlat, Kadmat, Agatti and Minicoy,” the release said.
