Fauji to Fauji: The Corporate Transition Playbook – An Interview
Interviewer: Welcome, Cdr Pasricha! There’s always a lot of buzz around military personnel transitioning to the corporate world. Many serving officers are on the fence about making the switch. What’s the most common question you hear from your fellow faujis?
Cdr Pasricha: Oh, I get a range of them! "Will I adjust to the new world order?", "How is corporate life?", "Is there stability at work?", "What do I need to plan before leaving service?"—the list goes on. The transition can feel like stepping into uncharted territory, but trust me, it's nothing a Fauji can't handle!

Interviewer: That’s reassuring! But let's be honest—military life is all about discipline, structure, and a well-defined purpose. The corporate world, on the other hand, is more profit-driven. How does this impact retired personnel?
Cdr Pasricha: Ah, the great shift in purpose! In the military, every mission serves a greater good—national security, saving lives, protecting borders. In the corporate world, success is measured by profits, market shares, and business growth. Many veterans initially struggle to find meaning in their work. The trick is to align yourself with roles that resonate with your core values—leadership development, consulting, or even CSR initiatives. Find your mission within the mission!

Interviewer: Well said! Now, the work culture is another massive change. In the military, hierarchy is everything—orders are followed, no questions asked. But in corporate life, collaboration and debate are encouraged. How do retired officers adapt?
Cdr Pasricha: You nailed it! In the forces, when a command is given, it’s executed—period. In the corporate world, questioning, brainstorming, and debating ideas are the norm. Initially, this can feel chaotic for veterans. My advice? Observe first. Soak in the dynamics. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll see that leadership here is more about influence than authority.
And here’s a pro tip: Instead of giving orders, ask, "What do you think?"—it works wonders!

Interviewer: That’s a gold nugget right there! Another big shift must be decision-making. Military officers are trained to take quick, high-pressure decisions. But the corporate world thrives on stakeholder consensus. Is that a tough adjustment?
Cdr Pasricha: Absolutely! In the military, a delay in decision-making can be life-threatening. In business, it’s all about buy-in from different stakeholders, endless meetings, and navigating office politics. Initially, the pace can be frustrating. But once you learn the game, you’ll see that your ability to make firm, informed decisions is a superpower. Just learn to balance decisiveness with diplomacy.

Interviewer: Speaking of adjustments, work-life balance is another big one. Defence personnel live in a close-knit community. But in corporate life, people clock out and go their own way. How does this impact retired officers?
Cdr Pasricha: Oh, this is a real shocker! In the armed forces, your colleagues are your family. You live together, train together, celebrate together. Then suddenly, you’re in a world where relationships are transactional, and weekend plans are personal. The key is to build new networks—join corporate clubs, alumni groups, or even veteran communities. Find your tribe, and you won’t feel alone!

Interviewer: That makes sense. Now, let’s talk money. The military offers a structured salary, benefits, housing, and medical perks. In corporate life, it’s all about negotiations. How can veterans ensure they get their due?
Cdr Pasricha: Negotiating salaries? That’s foreign territory for most of us! In the forces, our pay scales are fixed. But in corporate life, everything is negotiable. My advice? Do your homework. Know your market value. Speak to other veterans who have transitioned. And don’t undersell yourself—your leadership, discipline, and crisis-management skills are priceless.

Interviewer: What about career progression? In the military, promotions are structured. But in business, growth depends on networking and performance. How do retired personnel adapt to this?
Cdr Pasricha: That’s a mindset shift! In the armed forces, you rise through the ranks over time. In corporate, you must actively chase opportunities—network, take on new challenges, switch functions if needed. It’s more of a jungle gym than a ladder. My tip? Be open to lateral moves; they often lead to bigger roles down the line!

Interviewer: This has been enlightening! Before we wrap up, can you share some tips for faujis planning their corporate transition?
Cdr Pasricha: Of course! Here are my top five:
Upskill yourself – An executive MBA, project management certification, or industry-specific training will make you job-ready.
Leverage veteran networks – Connect with those who have successfully transitioned; they’ll guide you through.
Embrace change – Be open to feedback, learn new skills, and adapt quickly.
Play to your strengths – Leadership, crisis management, discipline—these are gold in the corporate world.
Use specialized agencies – There are organizations that help veterans with job placements, resumes, and career counseling.

Interviewer: This has been an eye-opener! Thank you, Cdr Pasricha, for sharing your insights. One last question—would you say this transition is difficult?
Cdr Pasricha: Difficult? Not at all! Challenging? Yes. But show me a Fauji who doesn’t love a challenge! We’ve conquered tougher terrains—this is just another mission. Plan well, adapt fast, and march forward. The corporate world isn’t ready for the force that’s coming their way!

  रूस और यूक्रेन के बीच करीब तीन साल से युद्ध जारी है। इस बीच रूस ने यूक्रेन पर एक और बड़ा हमला किया है। रूस ने यूक्रेन के 100 ठिकानों पर एकसाथ अटैक किया है। यूक्रेन पर ब्लैक सी से टीयू-95 बमवर्षक से क्रूज मिसाइलें दागी गई हैं। हालांकि, इस बीच यूक्रेन ने अपने कई शहरों में बिजली की आपूर्ति बंद कर दी है। यूक्रेन के ऊर्जा मंत्री ने बुधवार को सोशल मीडिया पर इसकी जानकारी दी।
  

  
यूक्रेन के ऊर्जा मंत्री हरमन हलुश्चेंको ने लोगों से सुरक्षित पनाहगाहों में जाने की अपील की और सरकार की तरफ से दिए जाने पर वाले अपडेट पर नजर रखने को कहा। यूक्रेन की सरकारी बिजली कंपनी यूक्रेनगो ने बताया कि कई शहरों में बिजली आपूर्ति रोक दी गई है। जिन इलाकों में बिजली आपूर्ति रोकी गई है, उनमें खारकीव, सूमी, पाल्टोवा, जापोराजिया आदि क्षेत्र शामिल हैं। रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक बिजली कटौती का मुख्य उद्देश्य हमलों के प्रभाव को सीमित करना और ऊर्जा प्रणाली को गंभीर नुकसान से बचाना था।

नए वायरस पर क्या फिर झूठ बोल रहा चीन? कोरोना काल का डरावना मंजर फिर देखने को ना मिले

दुनिया में पांच साल पहले कोरोना वायरस ने दस्‍तक दी थी। चीन के वुहान में सामने आए इस वायरस ने देखते ही देखते लाखों लोगों को मौत की नींद में सुला दिया। कुछ वक्‍त गुजरा, वायरस का प्रकोप कम पड़ा, लोगों ने राहत की सांस ली। अब चीन में कोरोना जैसे एक नए वायरस ह्यूमन मेटान्यूमो वायरस (एचएमपीवी) की दस्‍तक की खबर है। मीडिया रिपोर्टस की मानें तो वहां के अस्पताल मरीजों से भरे पड़े हैं। यहां तक श्मशानों में भी शवों की दफनाने के लिए लंबी-लंबी कतारें देखी जा रही हैं। हालांकि, चीन इस बात को मानने से इनकार कर रहा है।

कोरोना के फैलाव के लिए दुनिया चीन को जिम्मेदार ठहराती है, लेकिन चीन ने कभी इसे स्वीकार नहीं किया। जिस तरह चीन ने समय रहते कोरोना पर दुनिया को सचेत नहीं किया था। क्या उसी तरह चीन इस बार भी जानकारी छिपा रहा है? 

चीन ने फ्लू के प्रकोप की खबरों को खारिज किया
दरअसल, चीन ने देश में बड़े पैमाने पर फ्लू के प्रकोप संबंधी खबरों को अधिक तवज्जो नहीं देते हुए शुक्रवार को कहा कि सर्दियों के दौरान होने वाली श्वसन संबंधी बीमारियों के मामले पिछले साल की तुलना में इस वर्ष कम गंभीर हैं। चीनी विदेश मंत्रालय ने कहा कि विदेशियों के लिए चीन की यात्रा करना सुरक्षित है। मंत्रालय की प्रवक्ता माओ निंग ने देश में 'इन्फ्लूएंजा ए' और अन्य श्वसन रोगों के फैलने को लेकर पूछे गए एक सवाल के जवाब में पत्रकारों से कहा, ''सर्दियों के मौसम में श्वसन संक्रमण चरम पर होता है।''
एक तरफ सोशल मीडिया पर प्रसारित वीडियो में चीन के अस्पतालों में मरीजों की भारी भीड़ दिख रही है। दूसरी तरफ निंग ने कहा, ''पिछले वर्ष की तुलना में ये बीमारियां कम गंभीर प्रतीत होती हैं और छोटे स्तर पर फैल रही हैं।'' उन्होंने कहा, ''मैं आपको आश्वस्त कर सकती हूं कि चीन सरकार चीनी नागरिकों और विदेशियों के स्वास्थ्य की परवाह करती है। चीन में यात्रा करना सुरक्षित है।''

क्या है तस्वीरों का सच?
चीन नए वायरस ह्यूमन मेटान्यूमोवायरस (एचएमपीवी) से जूझ रहा है। चीन के सोशल मीडिया पर भीड़ भरे हेल्‍थ सेंटर्स की तस्‍वीरों का अंबार लगा है। चीन से सामने आई रिपोर्टों और सोशल मीडिया पोस्‍ट के मुताबिक, संक्रमितों से अस्‍पताल भरे हैं और अंतिम संस्‍कार स्‍थलों पर भीड़ बढ़ गई है। बहुत से सोशल मीडिया यूजर्स का दावा है कि इन्फ्लूएंजा ए, एचएमपीवी, माइकोप्लाज्मा निमोनिया और कोविड-19 सहित कई वायरस चीन में घूम रहे हैं। साथ ही इस तरह के दावे भी किए जा रहे हैं कि चीन ने आपातकाल की स्थिति घोषित कर दी है। चीन के अधिकारियों ने लोगों से मास्‍क लगाने और लगातार हाथ धोने के लिए कहा है। हालांकि इसकी अभी तक आधिकारिक पुष्टि नहीं हुई है। 

कोरोना की तरह चीन इस बार भी छिपा रहा जानकारी?
बता दें कि चीन में बच्चों में फैल रही इस बीमारी की जानकारी प्रो-मेड नाम की संस्था ने दी है। ये संस्था इंसान और पशुओं की बीमारी के फैलाव पर नज़र रखती है। इसी प्रो-मेड संस्था ने दिसंबर 2019 में कोविड 19 वायरस को लेकर चेतावनी दी थी, जबकि इसके 2 महीने बाद दुनिया को इस वायरस के खतरे का एहसास हुआ। अब प्रो-मेड ने एक बार फिर दुनिया को अलर्ट किया है, लेकिन चीन चुप्पी साधे हुए है।

चीन पर शक की क्‍या है वजह?
चीन कड़े सेंसरशिप कानूनों को लागू करता है। यही कारण है कि चीन से सच पूरी तरह से बाहर नहीं आ पाता है। ऐसे में चीन और चीन की सरकार हमेशा से ही संदेह के घेरे में रहती है।

Khabar kolkata sports Desk: In one of the most consistent performances in women’s cricket history, Bengal chased down a massive target once again to outclass defending champions Railways by six wickets in the semifinal clash in Rajkot on Friday to storm into the final of the Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy.  

After scripting a record in the quarterfinals by chasing down a mammoth target, Bengal has done it again to chase down a 300-plus score in the last-four clash.   

Set a challenging target of 301 in the semifinal, Bengal went over the line comfortably, scoring 301/4 in 49 overs. 
 
Dhara Gujjar was awarded the player of the match for her brilliant match-winning 123 off 123 balls. She smashed 16 boundaries. Mita Paul (76 off 66) and Tanushree Sarkar (35 off 47) also impressed with the bat.  

“I wanted to follow the basics. We were looking to take the game deep and get close to the target. The pitch was good for batting and for a set batter it was an advantage. My partnership with Mita helped us a lot,” Dhara said.  

Bengal will next face Madhya Pradesh in the summit clash on Monday. Bengal Women have thus made it to back-to-back finals in the season after making the summit clash in T20 Trophy earlier.  

Batting first, Railways posted 300/5 in 50 overs, thanks to C H Jhansi Lakshmi (120) and Nuzhat Parween (116).  

Skipper Saika Ishaque bagged 3 for 48 for Bengal while Tanushree clinched one.   

Chasing the target, Dhara and Sasthi Mondal (21) gave Bengal a fine start. Later on, Dhara and Mita added a superb 152 runs for the third wicket to take team closer to victory.   

In the end, Priyanka Bala (20 not out) and Prativa Rana (14 not out) remained unbeaten to take team over the line.

बांग्लादेश सचिवालय में लगी आग, तमाम दस्तावेज हुए खाक, साजिश की आशंका

ढाका में बांग्लादेश सचिवालय की एक प्रमुख इमारत में बुधवार को भीषण आग लग गई। बताया जा रहा है कि आग से सरकारी दस्तावेज जलकर राख हो गए। ऐसी आशंका है कि सरकारी दस्तावेजों को नुकसान पहुंचाने की मंशा से ही घटना को अंजाम दिया गया है। लिहाजा इस संबंध में एक उच्च स्तरीय जांच समिति गठित की गई है।

बांग्लादेश के सचिवालय की इमारत संख्या सात में आग गुरुवार की सुबह लगी थी। अग्निशमन सेवा के प्रमुख ब्रिगेडियर जनरल जाहिद कमाल ने बताया कि बिल्डिंग में तीन स्थानों पर एक साथ आग लगी। इससे अन्य मंत्रालयों को भी काम रोकना पड़ा। आग के कारण सुरक्षा एजेंसियों ने परिसर में प्रवेश पर रोक लगा दी। बिल्डिंग-सात की छठवीं, सातवीं और आठवीं मंजिल के अधिकांश कमरे बुरी तरह क्षतिग्रस्त हो गए। फर्नीचर और कई दस्तावेज भी जल गए। करीब 6 घंटे की मशक्कत के बाद आग पर काबू पा लिया गया। 

अधिकारियों के अनुसार, 9 मंजिला इमारत में 7 मंत्रालय मौजूद हैं।बिल्डिंग 7 की छठी, सातवीं और आठवीं मंजिल के अधिकांश कमरे गंभीर रूप से क्षतिग्रस्त हो गए। फर्नीचर के साथ-साथ कई दस्तावेज भी जल गए। इसके अलावा आग बुझाने के लिए इस्तेमाल किए गए पानी से भी कई दस्तावेज नष्ट हो गए।

संदेह है कि इमारत में जानबूझ कर आग लगाई गई है। इसलिए मामले की जांच के लिए सात सदस्यीय समिति का गठन किया गया है।स्थानीय सरकार के सलाहकार आसिफ महमूद सजीब भुइयां ने कहा, "साजिशकर्ताओं ने अपनी गतिविधि बंद नहीं की है।" उन्होंने बताया कि जो दस्तावेज क्षतिग्रस्त हुए हैं उनमें अवामी लीग शासन के दौरान लाखों डॉलर के भ्रष्टाचार के कागजात और अन्य सबूत शामिल थे। आसिफ महमूद सजीब भुइयां ने आगे कहा, "इस अपराध में शामिल लोगों को नहीं छोड़ा जाएगा।" इस घटना की जांच के लिए अधिकारियों ने सात सदस्यीय समिति का गठन किया। इस समिति की अध्यक्षता अतिरिक्त सचिव (जिला एवं क्षेत्र प्रशासन) मोहम्मद खालिद रहीम करेंगे। जांच समिति को आग लगने के कारणों का पता लगाना होगा।

  *Bengal in record books, chases down mammoth total to enter semifinals of Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy*

 Khabar kolkata sports Desk: In one of most thrilling and successful run-chases in history of women’s cricket, Bengal Senior Women’s team has entered the record books, chasing down a mammoth target to stun Haryana by 5 wickets in the quarterfinal match to enter the semifinals of the domestic One-Day Trophy on Monday. 

Set a massive target of 390 in 50 overs, Bengal went over the line comfortably, scoring 390/5 in 49.1 overs.

This is by far the highest successful chase in women’s List A cricket. The previous record was 309 by Northern Districts against Canterbury in 2019.

Tanushree Sarkar was the player of the match for her superb all-round show, bagging 3 for 56 followed by a match-winning 113 off 83 balls as Bengal entered the last-four stage in style. 

“Yesterday during the pre-match meeting, I told the girls that the pitch will be batting friendly and no one should panic at any point during the match. Today during the innings break, I told the batters, have faith and belief in yourselves and we can do it. It was an unbelievable victory. To chase down a massive total like this, is special,” Bengal head coach Probal Dutta said. 

India legend and team mentor Jhulan Goswami heaped praise on the players saying, “It is a fantastic win. To have the mindset of chasing down this massive target is brilliant. The girls believed in themselves and the win is truly special.”

Priyanka Bala (88 not out off 81), Dhara Gujjar (69 off 49), Sasthi Mondal (52 off 29), Prativa Rana (28 off 26), Mita Paul (12, 1-63) and Hrishita Basu (11 not out) were the other star performers for Bengal. 

Put into bat, skipper Shafali Verma smashed a brilliant 197 off 115 balls to help Haryana post a mammoth total. 

In reply, Dhara and Sasthi gave Bengal a flying start. Despite losing both openers, Bengal batters never gave up, instead kept believing, as the team chased the target down with five balls to spare.

*Bengal outclass Nagaland by innings & 206 runs in Cooch Behar Trophy*

Khabar kolkata sports Desk: A dominant all-round performance powered Bengal Under-19 team to a stunning innings and 206-run victory over Nagaland in their Cooch Behar Trophy match in Sovima on Friday. 

After four back-to-back victories, Bengal, with 27 points, are on top of Elite Group B.

Debutant Soumyadip Manna (99), Vishal Bhati (6-2), Rohit (3-8, 2-13), Debangshu Pakhira (1-1, 2-17), debutant Shivamm Bharati (3-16) and Aditya Roy (64) were the star performers for Bengal.

After bowling out Nagaland for just 40, Bengal posted 305/7 decl. to bag a huge first innings lead.

Nagaland, in their second innings, were bundled out for 59 to hand a massive victory to the visitors in the morning of the second day. 

Bengal next face Jammu and Kashmir in their final group-stage match from December 6.

* झांसी मेडिकल कॉलेज में बीती रात लगी आग में 10 मासूमों की मौत हो गई। मेडिकल कॉलेज के बच्चों के ICU में आग लगी थी। हादसे के वक्त NICU में 55 बच्चे थे, जिनमें से 37 बच्चों को सुरक्षित निकाल लिया गया। बताया जा रहा है कि बाहर वाले वार्ड से सभी बच्चों को बचा लिया गया, लेकिन जो बच्चे अंदर वाले वार्ड में थे, उनकी झुलसने से मौत हो गई। *मासूमों की मौत पर जताया शोक* प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने घटना को लेकर शोक जताया है। एक्स पर पीएमओ ने लिखा कि हृदयविदारक! उत्तर प्रदेश में झांसी के मेडिकल कॉलेज में आग लगने से हुआ हादसा मन को व्यथित करने वाला है। इसमें जिन्होंने अपने मासूम बच्चों को खो दिया है, उनके प्रति मेरी गहरी शोक-संवेदनाएं। ईश्वर से प्रार्थना है कि उन्हें इस अपार दुख को सहने की शक्ति प्रदान करे। *मुआवजे की घोषणा* महारानी लक्ष्मी बाई मेडिकल कॉलेज के विशेष नवजात देखभाल इकाई (एसएनसीयू) में भीषण आग लगने से 10 नवजात शिशुओं की झुलसने एवं दम घुटने से मौत हो गई। मंडलायुक्त बिमल कुमार दुबे ने बताया कि जिस वार्ड में आग लगी थी, वहां 55 नवजात भर्ती थे। 45 नवजात को सुरक्षित निकाल लिया गया। उनका इलाज चल रहा है। हादसे की सूचना मिलते ही करीब 15 दमकलें मौके पर पहुंच गईं। सेना को भी बुला लिया। सेना एवं दमकल ने मिलकर आग बुझाई। बच्चों को सर्वोत्तम चिकित्सा उपचार दिया जा रहा है, वे जल्द ठीक हो जाएंगे। आज सुबह डिप्टी सीएम बृजेश पाठक मेडिकल कॉलेड पहुंच गये हैं। झांसी मेडिकल कॉलेज हादसे में शिकार परिजनों को शासन द्वारा पांच लाख रुपये की सहायता की घोषणा की गई है। घायलों के परिजनों को पचास-पचास हजार की सहायाता मिलेगी। *परिजन बोले- अस्पताल प्रशासन की लापरवाही* मेडिकल कॉलेज के शिशु वार्ड (एसएनसीयू) में पहले धुआं उठा, किसी को कुछ समझ नहीं आया और देखते ही देखते शिशु वार्ड में आग की लपटें उठने लगीं। वहीं, इस हादसे ने अस्पताल की व्यवस्था की भी कलई खोल दी। चाइल्ड वार्ड में आग लगने के बावजूद सेफ्टी अलार्म नहीं बजा। बच्चों के परिजन के मुताबिक, अगर समय से सेफ्टी अलार्म बज जाता तो इतनी बड़ी घटना नहीं होती। परिजनों का कहना था कि यह अस्पताल प्रशासन की लापरवाही है। समय-समय पर सेफ्टी अलार्म समेत अस्पताल की अन्य व्यवस्थाओं की जांच होती रहनी चाहिए थी, ताकि आपात स्थिति में बचाव किया जा सके। शिशु वार्ड से बाहर निकलने का एक ही गेट था, लेकिन हादसे के वक्त गेट पर आग की लपटें उठ रही थीं। ऐसे में जो लोग बाहर थे, वो भी बच्चों को बचाने के लिए अंदर नहीं जा सके। *बच्चों को लेकर बदहवास भागते नजर आए परिजन* NICU वार्ड में लगी आग लगने के बाद परिजन अपने नवजात शिशुओं के जले हुए अवशेषों को लेकर भागते नजर आए। बेहद परेशान करने वाले दृश्यों ने विचलित कर दिया। महिलाओं की चीख-पुकार साफ तौर पर वीडियो में सुनाई दे रही थी।
