*For the first time, CAB local season begins in October*

Khabar kolkata News Desk: For the first time ever, Cricket Association of Bengal’s local season began as early as October with the Inter District Men’s T20 Open Tournament getting underway in Murshidabad on Friday.
This was made possible thanks to the initiative taken by CAB President Snehasish Ganguly. The District Associations also stepped up actively in making the grounds match-ready and getting all the preparations perfectly in place to begin the season well ahead of the normal schedule.
The season began with the Inter District T20 meet in Behrampur Stadium Ground 1 where Maharaja of Cooch Behar beat Manbhum Warriors by virtue of lesser number of wickets after the scores were tied.
Batting first, Maharaja of Cooch Behar posted 58/1 in 6 overs, thanks to Subham Sarkar (29 not out). In reply, Manbhum Warriors scored 58/6 in 6 overs.
In the second match, Bankura Horses beat South 24-PGS Tiger by 80 runs by virtue of higher run-rate. Batting first, Bankura Horses posted 112/6 in 18 overs, thanks to Sourav Ganguli (33). In reply, South 24-PGS Tiger reached 32/3 in 6.3 overs when rain stopped play.
Following the commencement of the Inter District Men’s T20 Open Tournament, the J.C Mukherjee T20 tournament will start on November 4, followed by N.C Chatterjee T20 tournament on November 10.
