 Khabar kolkata sports Desk: Riding on a brilliant all-round performance, East Bengal Club outclassed Md Sporting Club by 177 runs in the summit clash on Wednesday to emerge champions of P. Sen Memorial Invitational Tournament.

Put into bat, East Bengal club posted a challenging 339/5 in 50 overs at the JU, Salt Lake Campus ground. 

Sandipan Das (101 off 117 balls), Agniv Pan (76 not out 71), Amitoze Singh (65 off 42) and Sumit Kumar (30 not out off 9) were superb with the bat for East Bengal.

For Md Sporting Club, Toufik Uddin Mondal (2-54) and Nilkantha Das (2-88) were the pick of the bowlers.

In reply, Md Sporting Club were bowled out for 162 in 29.3 overs. Lalit Yadav top-scored with a fighting 47. 

Ayan Bhattacharya (4-48), Sumit (2-25), Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal (2-47) were brilliant with the ball for East Bengal.

*Vision 2028 resumes with U-19, U-15 girls’ camp*

Khabar kolkata sports Desk: The third phase of Vision 2028 got underway today at the JU 2nd Campus Ground, Salt Lake, with the Bengal Under-19 girls attending the first session of the camp that ends on March 24.

While Bengal’s Manoj Tiwary will be the batting coach, the bowling department will be guided by former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad along with Bengal’s Ashok Dinda and spin bowling will be taken care of by Narendra Hirwani. Former India and Bengal women's cricketer Purnima Chowdhury will also guide the girls.

The third phase of the camp is divided into two sessions every day. The first half will be attended by the U19 girls and the second by the U15 girls.

The opening day’s session began with Prasad, Hirwari and Tiwary delivering inspirational and motivation words to the young girls. The trio told the girls to use the camp as a learning experience.

After a brief introduced by the girls, the batters took their stance at the crease and the bowlers prepared for their run-up, by practicing their bowling action. The coaches looked at the proceedings and watched the girls’ practice with hawk eyes. As the session went on, the coaches talked to the talents individually.

The short-term goal of Vision 2028 will be to get the various age group squads ready for the domestic season by improving their skills while the long-term goals will be to nurture the future talents and make them fit for various Bengal age group squads.

20 U19 girls and 23 U15 girls are attending the camp.

Khabar kolkata sports Desk: East Bengal FC drew 1-1 against Bengaluru FC at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium, Kolkata in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 yesterday night.The Blues held an overwhelming 67.9% of the possession, but needed the added time of the second half to grab a point from the fixture, ending East Bengal FC’s playoff charge. The Red and Gold Brigade, placed eighth, have 28 points from 23 games now, and could get to a maximum of 31 with one game remaining, which would still fall short of the currently sixth-placed NorthEast United FC (32).

A few years back, his investment was Rs 2000. crore; it is now 50000 crore; it will be doubled in a few years, he explained.

Sajjan Jindal announced 2× 800 MW power plants with investment of Rs. 16000 crore at Salboni and promised that the project could be scaled up in future to include another 2×800 MW power plants with investments of another Rs 16000 crore! He promised an Industrial Park over 2000 acres, and informed that they were seriously looking into the project of Durgapur Airport for entry and expansion.

Khabar kolkata sports Desk: Veteran wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha, who is playing the final match of his glorious career, was felicitated by CAB President Snehasish Ganguly at the Eden Gardens on Thursday.

Wriddhiman, who will call time on his career after the Ranji match against Punjab, has been a stalwart for Bengal cricket.

Prior to the start of the match, CAB President Mr Ganguly congratulated Wriddhiman saying, “It has been a wonderful and inspiring career. To make his debut in 2007 and play this long is incredible. I congratulate him and wish him all the best.”

Wriddhiman was presented a signed Bengal team jersey from the Senior team members, a flower bouquet and a shawl.
