From Slum Lanes to a National Vision: Mangan Thomas Rijoy Introduces Desiya Suraksha Party

Desiya Suraksha Party emerges from five years of grassroots work through the Secure Our City campaign, with a focus on safety, housing, education and healthcare.
“Why should a woman feel unsafe in her own street?” This question became the starting point of Secure Our City, a community safety campaign initiated by Mangan Thomas Rijoy (MTR), President of Desiya Suraksha Party (DSP)
According to the campaign's account, the initiative began in Chennai five years ago with a commitment to provide 10,000 free CCTV cameras in selected Indian cities. Working without NGO backing, corporate funding or political support, the campaign reports that it has helped secure 5,000 houses in Chennai's slum communities.
However, years of working closely with residents led MTR to reconsider what safety means for families facing economic hardship.
Living and interacting with communities helped bring wider challenges into focus, including inadequate housing, access to food, healthcare, clothing and education. The experience shaped a broader vision that extends beyond surveillance and neighbourhood security
“A camera cannot secure a hungry stomach. A camera cannot secure a homeless family,” MTR said, describing the thinking behind the next phase of his work
This experience eventually led to the formation of Desiya Suraksha Party (DSP), a political initiative intended, according to its stated mission, to raise questions about public accountability, resource distribution and the living conditions of ordinary citizens.

DSP has outlined five principal commitments in its proposed social agenda
Housing for every family: A minimum 500-square-foot home for every Indian family.
Dignity and basic necessities: Access to good-quality clothing and essential living conditions.

A future for every child: A home, family environment and future for children without parental care, with the state acting as guardian where necessary.

A Campaign with a Wider Purpose
The Secure Our City initiative was originally intended to establish a community safety model that could later expand through SecureCam India and potential corporate social responsibility (CSR) funding.
DSP now says the campaign will continue alongside its broader social agenda. Following its first Maanadu, scheduled for December 10, 2026, in Chennai, the party plans to expand the initiative across India.
The campaign also proposes security audits for homes and buildings, with a minimum security guarantee. Further details on implementation and coverage are expected to clarify how this proposal would operate.
 
Beginning in Tamil Nadu and Kerala
 
DSP has identified Tamil Nadu and Kerala as the starting points for its next phase. MTR has invited people interested in community safety and social welfare to learn about the party and its stated objectives.

क्यों मिला पुरस्कार?
महात्मा गांधी के नक्शेकदम पर चलने वाली नवनेथेम नावी पिल्लई को शांति का नोबल पुरस्कार देने की घोषणा हुई है। यह घोषणा नॉर्वे की राजधानी ओस्लो में की गई। अंतरराष्ट्रीय कानून और शांति को बढ़ावा देने के उनके असाधारण प्रयासों के लिए उन्हें वर्ष 2026 का नोबेल शांति पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया है।

विश्व में शांति के लिए कई अहम काम किए
नोबेल प्राइज़ समिति ने एक्स हैंडल पर पोस्ट कर कहा कि नॉर्वेजियन नोबेल कमेटी ने शांति और अंतरराष्ट्रीय कानून को बढ़ावा देने की कोशिशों के लिए नवनेथम 'नावी' पिल्लई को 2026 का शांति का नोबेल पुरस्कार देने का फ़ैसला किया है। पिल्लई 2008 से 2014 तक संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानवाधिकार उच्चायुक्त के रूप में काम किया है और विश्व में शांति के लिए कई अहम काम किए हैं। 

कौन हैं नावी पिल्ले?
88 वर्ष की नावी पिल्ले दक्षिण अफ्रीकी नागरिक हैं। उनका परिवार 136 साल पहले तमिलनाडु से दक्षिण अफ्रीका गया था। उनका जन्म भारतीय तमिल मूल के परिवार में 23 सितंबर 1941 दक्षिण अफ्रीका के डरबन में हुआ। उन्होंने 2008 से 2014 तक संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानवाधिकार हाई कमिश्नर के रूप में काम किया। उन्होंने नटाल यूनिवर्सिटी से कानून की डिग्री ली और हार्वर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी से मास्टर एवं डॉक्टरेट की उपाधि प्राप्त की। उन्होंने दक्षिण अफ्रीका में रंगभेद के दौर के दौरान राजनीतिक कार्यकर्ताओं, कैदियों और मानवाधिकारों के लिए कई महत्वपूर्ण कानूनी लड़ाइयां लड़ीं। नवनेथेम नावी पिल्ले दक्षिण अफ्रीका की एक प्रमुख कानूनी एक्सपर्ट और मानवाधिकार कार्यकर्ता हैं।

भारत में स्टारलिंक की एंट्री को लेकर दुनिया के सबसे रईस लोगों में एलन मस्क ने बड़ा गंभीर आरोप लगाया है। मस्क का दावा है कि कुछ ताकतवर कारोबारी स्टारलिंक को भारत में आने से रोक रहे हैं। मस्क का कहना है कि ये कारोबारी अपनी मोनोपॉली बनाए रखना चाहते हैं। भारत के लोगों पर उनकी पकड़ मजबूत बनी हुई है। अब भारत सरकार ने इसका जवाब दिया है। 

एक्स पर एलन मस्क ने क्या लिखा?
मस्क ने सोशल मीडिया प्‍लेटफॉर्म 'एक्‍स' पर एक पोस्ट में कहा, 'दुर्भाग्य से कुछ ताकतवर उद्योगपति भारतीय लोगों पर अपनी एकाधिकार वाली पकड़ बनाए रखने के लिए हमें रोक रहे हैं। आप अंदाजा लगा सकते हैं कि वे कौन हैं...'। टेस्ला और स्पेसएक्स के प्रमुख ने आगे कहा, 'यह भारत के लोगों के खिलाफ एक अपराध है!' उन्होंने उन लोगों या कंपनियों का नाम नहीं लिया जिन पर उन्होंने भारतीय बाजार में स्टारलिंक की एंट्री को रोकने का आरोप लगाया।

सरकार ने दिया ये जवाब
केंद्रीय संचार मंत्रालय ने गुरुवार को मस्क का नाम न लेते हुए एक पोस्ट के जरिए कहा कि भारत में सभी टेलीकॉम और सैटेलाइट सेवाओं के लिए समान और पारदर्शी नियम हैं। यानी कि नियम सभी कंपनियों के लिए एक हैं। भारत में इस वक्त सैटेलाइट इंटरनेट की सर्विस देने के लिए तीन टेलीकॉम कंपनियों को लाइसेंस दिए गए हैं। इनमें से एक है रिलायंस जियो, दूसरी कंपनी है भारती एयरटेलऔर तीसरी कंपनी खुद एलन मस्क की है- स्टारलिंक।
सरकार ने बताया कि लाइसेंस की शर्तों के मुताबिक, हर कंपनी के लिए यह साबित करना जरूरी है कि वह भारत की सुरक्षा और यूजर्स के डेटा की गोपनीयता से जुड़ी गाइडलाइंस का पूरी तरह पालन कर रही है और इस वक्त इन तीनों ही कंपनियों के सुरक्षा मानकों की जांच चल रही है। अब जैसे ही कोई कंपनी सुरक्षा जांच की इस प्रक्रिया को पूरा कर लेगी, उसे स्पेक्ट्रम अलॉटमेंट के अगले चरण में जाने की इजाजत दे दी जाएगी इसलिए भारत के सैटेलाइट कम्युनिकेशन सर्विस के रेगुलेटरी फ्रेमवर्क की निष्पक्षता पर सवाल उठाना अनुचित, पूरी तरह से बेबुनियाद और गलतफहमी पर आधारित है।

21 गोल्ड मेडल में 11 महिला खिलाड़ियों ने जीते
भारत द्वारा जीते गए कुल 21 गोल्ड मेडलों में से 11 गोल्ड अकेले महिला खिलाड़ियों ने जीते।महिलाओं ने कुल 11 स्वर्ण, 11 रजत और 16 कांस्य जीते। वहीं पुरुषों के खाते में 7 स्वर्ण, 14 रजत और 17 कांस्य आए। मिश्रित स्पर्धाओं से भारत को तीन स्वर्ण, दो रजत और चार कांस्य मिले। इस तरह कुल 85 पदकों में महिलाओं और पुरुषों की हिस्सेदारी बराबर रही, लेकिन भारत के 21 स्वर्ण में महिलाओं का योगदान सबसे ज्यादा रहा। महिलाओं ने पुरुषों के बराबर पदक जीते, लेकिन उनके स्वर्ण पदकों की संख्या पुरुषों से चार ज्यादा रही। भारत के कुल 21 स्वर्ण में महिलाओं की हिस्सेदारी आधे से ज्यादा रही।

युवा एथलीटों ने दिखाया दम
इन खेलों में युवा स्टार 17 साल की रिकर्व आर्चर कुमकुम मोहौड़ ने ओलंपिक चैंपियन ओ येजिन को हराकर दुनिया को चौंका दिया। वहीं दूसरी ओर, गोल्फ में प्रणवी उर्स ने वर्ल्ड नंबर-6 और मेजर चैंपियन चीन की यिन रुओनिंग को शिकस्त देकर एशियन गेम्स का ऐतिहासिक गोल्फ गोल्ड अपने नाम किया। युवा स्क्वॉश प्लेयर अनाहत सिंह जैसी खिलाड़ियों ने भी दिखाया कि भारतीय महिला खेलों की अगली पीढ़ी तैयार है। युवा एथलीटों की आत्मविश्वास से भरी तस्वीरों ने यह साफ कर दिया कि भारतीय एथलीट अब दुनिया के दिग्गज खिलाड़ियों को हराने का माद्दा रखते हैं।

शियन गेम्स सिर्फ युवा खिलाड़ियों के अलावा मीराबाई चानू और लवलीना बोरगोहेन सरीखी ओलंपिक मेडलिस्ट ने भी अपने अनुभव का जलाव दिखाया। स्टार वेटलिफ्टर मीराबाई चानू ने सिल्वर मेडल अपने नाम कर 1998 में कर्णम मल्लेश्वरी के बाद एशियन गेम्स वेटलिफ्टिंग में भारत का 28 साल पुराना मेडल का सूखा खत्म कर दिया। बॉक्सिंग रिंग में लवलीना बोरगोहेन (75 किग्रा) ने गोल्ड मेडल जीतकर मैरी कॉम के बाद एशियन गेम्स गोल्ड जीतने वाली दूसरी भारतीय महिला बॉक्सर बनने का गौरव हासिल किया। उनके साथ परवीन हुड्डा ने भी वापसी करते हुए गोल्ड मेडल जीता। एथलेटिक्स ट्रैक पर वीथ्या रामराज ने 400 मीटर बाधा दौड़ में 54.75 सेकंड का समय निकालकर पीटी उषा का 42 साल पुराना नेशनल रिकॉर्ड तोड़कर ब्रॉन्ज मेडल अपने नाम किया।

क्रिकेट-कबड्डी में दबाव झेला, हॉकी में इतिहास रचा
महिला क्रिकेट और कबड्डी टीमों से स्वर्ण की उम्मीद थी और दोनों ने इसे पूरा किया। महिला हॉकी टीम ने तो 44 साल का इंतजार खत्म करते हुए एशियाई खेलों का स्वर्ण जीता। फाइनल में चीन को हराकर टीम ने ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि हासिल की।

भारतीय तीरंदाजों ने एशियन गेम्स में बुधवार की सुबह भारत को शानदार रहा। कंपाउंड तीरंदाजी के तीनों इवेंट में भारतीय टीम ने स्वर्ण पदक जीत लिया। भारतीय आर्चरी की पुरुष कंपाउंड टीम ने बेहद रोमांचक मुकाबले में चीन को पछाड़कर स्वर्ण पदक पर कब्जा जमा लिया है।

तीरंदाजी में ट्रिपल गोल्ड
पुरुष टीम ने फाइनल में चीन को 238-237 से हराकर दिन का तीसरा तीरंदाजी गोल्ड अपने नाम किया। साहिल राजेश, कुशल दलाल और मणि रत्नम गणेश की भारतीय तिकड़ी ने चीन के खिलाफ फाइनल में शानदार जुझारूपन दिखाया। 21 वर्षीय कुशल दलाल, 25 वर्षीय साहिल राजेश और 20 वर्षीय मणि रत्नम गणेश थिरुमुरु की तिकड़ी ने दबाव में धैर्य बनाए रखा और भारत को गोल्ड दिलाया।

आखिरी राउंड में बाजी पलटी
तीन राउंड यानी 18 शॉट के बाद भारत एक अंक से पीछे चल रहा था। तब चीन का स्कोर 179 और भारत का 178 था। इसके बाद आखिरी राउंड में भारतीय टीम ने मुकाबला पलट दिया। आखिरी छह शॉट में चीन के एक तीरंदाज ने आठ अंक का निशाना लगाया। इसका फायदा भारत को मिला और भारतीय टीम एक अंक की बढ़त पर पहुंच गई। अंत में भारत ने 238 अंक बनाए, जबकि चीन 237 अंक ही हासिल कर सका। इस तरह भारतीय टीम ने स्वर्ण पदक अपने नाम कर लिया।

तीरंदाजी के तीनों इवेंट में स्वर्ण
बता दें कि भारत ने आज कंपाउंड तीरंदाजी के तीनों इवेंट में स्वर्ण जीता। सबसे पहले चिकिथा तानिपर्थी, पृथिका प्रदीप और ज्योति सुरेखा वेन्नम की महिला कंपाउंड टीम ने चीन को हराकर गोल्ड अपने नाम किया था। इसके बाद चिकिथा और साहिल जाधव की मिश्रित टीम ने दक्षिण कोरिया को हराकर भारत को दूसरा स्वर्ण दिलाया। पुरुष टीम ने भी चीन के खिलाफ फाइनल में जीत दर्ज कर तीरंदाजी में भारत का गोल्डन हैट्रिक पूरा कर दिया।

भारतीय कारोबारी समूह एस्सार ग्रुप अमेरिका में बड़ा निवेश करने जा रहा है। अमेरिकी वाणिज्य मंत्री हॉवर्ड लटनिक ने भारत के एस्सार ग्रुप के 18 अरब डॉलर के अमेरिकी स्टील प्रोजेक्ट को लेकर बड़ा दावा किया है। यह अमेरिका के इतिहास का सबसे बड़ा स्टील संयंत्र बताया जा रहा है। इस घोषणा से अमेरिकी उद्योग को पुनर्जीवित करने के साथ-साथ अमेरिका में रोजगार के नए अवसर पैदा की उम्मीद बढ़ गई है। 

दुनिया के सबसे बड़े संयंत्रों में से होगा एक
जानकारी के अनुसार, भारतीय कारोबारी समूह एस्सार ग्रुप की अमेरिकी सब्सिडियरी कंपनी मेसाबी मेटालिक्स अमेरिका के आयोवा में करीब 18 अरब डॉलर के निवेश से स्टील प्लांट स्थापित करेगी। प्‍लांट की सालाना उत्पादन क्षमता करीब 1 करोड़ टन स्टील होगी। ट्रंप ने कहा कि यह परियोजना अमेरिका के आयोवा राज्य में स्थापित की जाएगी और यह दुनिया के सबसे बड़े संयंत्रों में से एक होगी। उनके अनुसार, परियोजना के निर्माण चरण में करीब 6,000 नौकरियां पैदा होंगी, जबकि प्‍लांट और खनन गतिविधियों से लगभग 2,000 स्थायी रोजगार मिलेंगे।

मिनेसोटा की खदान से सप्लाई
इस प्रोजेक्ट की खास बात इसका इंटीग्रेटेड सप्लाई चेन मॉडल है। एस्सार मिनेसोटा में अपनी आयरन-ओर माइन से कच्चा माल निकालेगा और उसी का इस्तेमाल आयोवा के नए स्टील प्लांट में किया जाएगा। इस तरह खनन से लेकर स्टील निर्माण तक पूरी आपूर्ति श्रृंखला अमेरिका में ही विकसित की जाएगी। 

प्रोजेक्‍ट को विकसित होने में लगेगा करीब एक दशक
एस्सार के चेयरमैन रेवंत रुइया ने बताया कि उनका परिवार मिनेसोटा में एक नई आयरन-ओर माइन के लिए करीब 3 अरब डॉलर का निवेश कर रहा है। उनके मुताबिक, यह अमेरिका में करीब 50 वर्षों में शुरू होने वाली पहली नई आयरन-ओर माइन होगी। प्रोजेक्‍ट को विकसित होने में करीब एक दशक लगने की उम्मीद है।

स्टील टैरिफ से जोड़ा निवेश
ट्रंप प्रशासन ने इस निवेश को अमेरिका की व्यापार नीतियों, खासकर आयातित स्टील पर लगाए गए 50 प्रतिशत शुल्क, से भी जोड़ा है। अमेरिका के कॉमर्स मिनिस्‍टर हॉवर्ड लुटनिक ने कहा कि टैरिफ के बिना यह खदान और स्टील संयंत्र नहीं बनता। ट्रंप ने भी कहा कि कंपनियां अमेरिका में उत्पादन स्थापित कर रही हैं, क्योंकि वे आयात पर शुल्क का भुगतान नहीं करना चाहतीं। हालांकि, अमेरिकी एक्सपोर्ट-इंपोर्ट बैंक ने मिनेसोटा की खदान के लिए फाइनेंसिंग में मदद की है।

Desiya Suraksha Party emerges from five years of grassroots work through the Secure Our City campaign, with a focus on safety, housing, education and healthcare.
“Why should a woman feel unsafe in her own street?” This question became the starting point of Secure Our City, a community safety campaign initiated by Mangan Thomas Rijoy (MTR), President of Desiya Suraksha Party (DSP)
According to the campaign's account, the initiative began in Chennai five years ago with a commitment to provide 10,000 free CCTV cameras in selected Indian cities. Working without NGO backing, corporate funding or political support, the campaign reports that it has helped secure 5,000 houses in Chennai's slum communities.
However, years of working closely with residents led MTR to reconsider what safety means for families facing economic hardship.
Living and interacting with communities helped bring wider challenges into focus, including inadequate housing, access to food, healthcare, clothing and education. The experience shaped a broader vision that extends beyond surveillance and neighbourhood security
“A camera cannot secure a hungry stomach. A camera cannot secure a homeless family,” MTR said, describing the thinking behind the next phase of his work
This experience eventually led to the formation of Desiya Suraksha Party (DSP), a political initiative intended, according to its stated mission, to raise questions about public accountability, resource distribution and the living conditions of ordinary citizens.

DSP has outlined five principal commitments in its proposed social agenda
Housing for every family: A minimum 500-square-foot home for every Indian family.

DSP now says the campaign will continue alongside its broader social agenda. Following its first Maanadu, scheduled for December 10, 2026, in Chennai, the party plans to expand the initiative across India.

क्यों मिला पुरस्कार?
महात्मा गांधी के नक्शेकदम पर चलने वाली नवनेथेम नावी पिल्लई को शांति का नोबल पुरस्कार देने की घोषणा हुई है। यह घोषणा नॉर्वे की राजधानी ओस्लो में की गई। अंतरराष्ट्रीय कानून और शांति को बढ़ावा देने के उनके असाधारण प्रयासों के लिए उन्हें वर्ष 2026 का नोबेल शांति पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया है।

विश्व में शांति के लिए कई अहम काम किए
नोबेल प्राइज़ समिति ने एक्स हैंडल पर पोस्ट कर कहा कि नॉर्वेजियन नोबेल कमेटी ने शांति और अंतरराष्ट्रीय कानून को बढ़ावा देने की कोशिशों के लिए नवनेथम 'नावी' पिल्लई को 2026 का शांति का नोबेल पुरस्कार देने का फ़ैसला किया है। पिल्लई 2008 से 2014 तक संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानवाधिकार उच्चायुक्त के रूप में काम किया है और विश्व में शांति के लिए कई अहम काम किए हैं। 

कौन हैं नावी पिल्ले?
88 वर्ष की नावी पिल्ले दक्षिण अफ्रीकी नागरिक हैं। उनका परिवार 136 साल पहले तमिलनाडु से दक्षिण अफ्रीका गया था। उनका जन्म भारतीय तमिल मूल के परिवार में 23 सितंबर 1941 दक्षिण अफ्रीका के डरबन में हुआ। उन्होंने 2008 से 2014 तक संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानवाधिकार हाई कमिश्नर के रूप में काम किया। उन्होंने नटाल यूनिवर्सिटी से कानून की डिग्री ली और हार्वर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी से मास्टर एवं डॉक्टरेट की उपाधि प्राप्त की। उन्होंने दक्षिण अफ्रीका में रंगभेद के दौर के दौरान राजनीतिक कार्यकर्ताओं, कैदियों और मानवाधिकारों के लिए कई महत्वपूर्ण कानूनी लड़ाइयां लड़ीं। नवनेथेम नावी पिल्ले दक्षिण अफ्रीका की एक प्रमुख कानूनी एक्सपर्ट और मानवाधिकार कार्यकर्ता हैं।

भारत में स्टारलिंक की एंट्री को लेकर दुनिया के सबसे रईस लोगों में एलन मस्क ने बड़ा गंभीर आरोप लगाया है। मस्क का दावा है कि कुछ ताकतवर कारोबारी स्टारलिंक को भारत में आने से रोक रहे हैं। मस्क का कहना है कि ये कारोबारी अपनी मोनोपॉली बनाए रखना चाहते हैं। भारत के लोगों पर उनकी पकड़ मजबूत बनी हुई है। अब भारत सरकार ने इसका जवाब दिया है। 

एक्स पर एलन मस्क ने क्या लिखा?
मस्क ने सोशल मीडिया प्‍लेटफॉर्म 'एक्‍स' पर एक पोस्ट में कहा, 'दुर्भाग्य से कुछ ताकतवर उद्योगपति भारतीय लोगों पर अपनी एकाधिकार वाली पकड़ बनाए रखने के लिए हमें रोक रहे हैं। आप अंदाजा लगा सकते हैं कि वे कौन हैं...'। टेस्ला और स्पेसएक्स के प्रमुख ने आगे कहा, 'यह भारत के लोगों के खिलाफ एक अपराध है!' उन्होंने उन लोगों या कंपनियों का नाम नहीं लिया जिन पर उन्होंने भारतीय बाजार में स्टारलिंक की एंट्री को रोकने का आरोप लगाया।

सरकार ने दिया ये जवाब
केंद्रीय संचार मंत्रालय ने गुरुवार को मस्क का नाम न लेते हुए एक पोस्ट के जरिए कहा कि भारत में सभी टेलीकॉम और सैटेलाइट सेवाओं के लिए समान और पारदर्शी नियम हैं। यानी कि नियम सभी कंपनियों के लिए एक हैं। भारत में इस वक्त सैटेलाइट इंटरनेट की सर्विस देने के लिए तीन टेलीकॉम कंपनियों को लाइसेंस दिए गए हैं। इनमें से एक है रिलायंस जियो, दूसरी कंपनी है भारती एयरटेलऔर तीसरी कंपनी खुद एलन मस्क की है- स्टारलिंक।
सरकार ने बताया कि लाइसेंस की शर्तों के मुताबिक, हर कंपनी के लिए यह साबित करना जरूरी है कि वह भारत की सुरक्षा और यूजर्स के डेटा की गोपनीयता से जुड़ी गाइडलाइंस का पूरी तरह पालन कर रही है और इस वक्त इन तीनों ही कंपनियों के सुरक्षा मानकों की जांच चल रही है। अब जैसे ही कोई कंपनी सुरक्षा जांच की इस प्रक्रिया को पूरा कर लेगी, उसे स्पेक्ट्रम अलॉटमेंट के अगले चरण में जाने की इजाजत दे दी जाएगी इसलिए भारत के सैटेलाइट कम्युनिकेशन सर्विस के रेगुलेटरी फ्रेमवर्क की निष्पक्षता पर सवाल उठाना अनुचित, पूरी तरह से बेबुनियाद और गलतफहमी पर आधारित है।

इन खेलों में युवा स्टार 17 साल की रिकर्व आर्चर कुमकुम मोहौड़ ने ओलंपिक चैंपियन ओ येजिन को हराकर दुनिया को चौंका दिया। वहीं दूसरी ओर, गोल्फ में प्रणवी उर्स ने वर्ल्ड नंबर-6 और मेजर चैंपियन चीन की यिन रुओनिंग को शिकस्त देकर एशियन गेम्स का ऐतिहासिक गोल्फ गोल्ड अपने नाम किया। युवा स्क्वॉश प्लेयर अनाहत सिंह जैसी खिलाड़ियों ने भी दिखाया कि भारतीय महिला खेलों की अगली पीढ़ी तैयार है। युवा एथलीटों की आत्मविश्वास से भरी तस्वीरों ने यह साफ कर दिया कि भारतीय एथलीट अब दुनिया के दिग्गज खिलाड़ियों को हराने का माद्दा रखते हैं।

अनुभवी खिलाड़ियों का भी दिखा दम
शियन गेम्स सिर्फ युवा खिलाड़ियों के अलावा मीराबाई चानू और लवलीना बोरगोहेन सरीखी ओलंपिक मेडलिस्ट ने भी अपने अनुभव का जलाव दिखाया। स्टार वेटलिफ्टर मीराबाई चानू ने सिल्वर मेडल अपने नाम कर 1998 में कर्णम मल्लेश्वरी के बाद एशियन गेम्स वेटलिफ्टिंग में भारत का 28 साल पुराना मेडल का सूखा खत्म कर दिया। बॉक्सिंग रिंग में लवलीना बोरगोहेन (75 किग्रा) ने गोल्ड मेडल जीतकर मैरी कॉम के बाद एशियन गेम्स गोल्ड जीतने वाली दूसरी भारतीय महिला बॉक्सर बनने का गौरव हासिल किया। उनके साथ परवीन हुड्डा ने भी वापसी करते हुए गोल्ड मेडल जीता। एथलेटिक्स ट्रैक पर वीथ्या रामराज ने 400 मीटर बाधा दौड़ में 54.75 सेकंड का समय निकालकर पीटी उषा का 42 साल पुराना नेशनल रिकॉर्ड तोड़कर ब्रॉन्ज मेडल अपने नाम किया।

क्रिकेट-कबड्डी में दबाव झेला, हॉकी में इतिहास रचा
महिला क्रिकेट और कबड्डी टीमों से स्वर्ण की उम्मीद थी और दोनों ने इसे पूरा किया। महिला हॉकी टीम ने तो 44 साल का इंतजार खत्म करते हुए एशियाई खेलों का स्वर्ण जीता। फाइनल में चीन को हराकर टीम ने ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि हासिल की।

भारतीय तीरंदाजों ने एशियन गेम्स में बुधवार की सुबह भारत को शानदार रहा। कंपाउंड तीरंदाजी के तीनों इवेंट में भारतीय टीम ने स्वर्ण पदक जीत लिया। भारतीय आर्चरी की पुरुष कंपाउंड टीम ने बेहद रोमांचक मुकाबले में चीन को पछाड़कर स्वर्ण पदक पर कब्जा जमा लिया है।

तीरंदाजी में ट्रिपल गोल्ड
पुरुष टीम ने फाइनल में चीन को 238-237 से हराकर दिन का तीसरा तीरंदाजी गोल्ड अपने नाम किया। साहिल राजेश, कुशल दलाल और मणि रत्नम गणेश की भारतीय तिकड़ी ने चीन के खिलाफ फाइनल में शानदार जुझारूपन दिखाया। 21 वर्षीय कुशल दलाल, 25 वर्षीय साहिल राजेश और 20 वर्षीय मणि रत्नम गणेश थिरुमुरु की तिकड़ी ने दबाव में धैर्य बनाए रखा और भारत को गोल्ड दिलाया।

आखिरी राउंड में बाजी पलटी
तीन राउंड यानी 18 शॉट के बाद भारत एक अंक से पीछे चल रहा था। तब चीन का स्कोर 179 और भारत का 178 था। इसके बाद आखिरी राउंड में भारतीय टीम ने मुकाबला पलट दिया। आखिरी छह शॉट में चीन के एक तीरंदाज ने आठ अंक का निशाना लगाया। इसका फायदा भारत को मिला और भारतीय टीम एक अंक की बढ़त पर पहुंच गई। अंत में भारत ने 238 अंक बनाए, जबकि चीन 237 अंक ही हासिल कर सका। इस तरह भारतीय टीम ने स्वर्ण पदक अपने नाम कर लिया।

तीरंदाजी के तीनों इवेंट में स्वर्ण
बता दें कि भारत ने आज कंपाउंड तीरंदाजी के तीनों इवेंट में स्वर्ण जीता। सबसे पहले चिकिथा तानिपर्थी, पृथिका प्रदीप और ज्योति सुरेखा वेन्नम की महिला कंपाउंड टीम ने चीन को हराकर गोल्ड अपने नाम किया था। इसके बाद चिकिथा और साहिल जाधव की मिश्रित टीम ने दक्षिण कोरिया को हराकर भारत को दूसरा स्वर्ण दिलाया। पुरुष टीम ने भी चीन के खिलाफ फाइनल में जीत दर्ज कर तीरंदाजी में भारत का गोल्डन हैट्रिक पूरा कर दिया।

भारतीय कारोबारी समूह एस्सार ग्रुप अमेरिका में बड़ा निवेश करने जा रहा है। अमेरिकी वाणिज्य मंत्री हॉवर्ड लटनिक ने भारत के एस्सार ग्रुप के 18 अरब डॉलर के अमेरिकी स्टील प्रोजेक्ट को लेकर बड़ा दावा किया है। यह अमेरिका के इतिहास का सबसे बड़ा स्टील संयंत्र बताया जा रहा है। इस घोषणा से अमेरिकी उद्योग को पुनर्जीवित करने के साथ-साथ अमेरिका में रोजगार के नए अवसर पैदा की उम्मीद बढ़ गई है। 

दुनिया के सबसे बड़े संयंत्रों में से होगा एक
जानकारी के अनुसार, भारतीय कारोबारी समूह एस्सार ग्रुप की अमेरिकी सब्सिडियरी कंपनी मेसाबी मेटालिक्स अमेरिका के आयोवा में करीब 18 अरब डॉलर के निवेश से स्टील प्लांट स्थापित करेगी। प्‍लांट की सालाना उत्पादन क्षमता करीब 1 करोड़ टन स्टील होगी। ट्रंप ने कहा कि यह परियोजना अमेरिका के आयोवा राज्य में स्थापित की जाएगी और यह दुनिया के सबसे बड़े संयंत्रों में से एक होगी। उनके अनुसार, परियोजना के निर्माण चरण में करीब 6,000 नौकरियां पैदा होंगी, जबकि प्‍लांट और खनन गतिविधियों से लगभग 2,000 स्थायी रोजगार मिलेंगे।

मिनेसोटा की खदान से सप्लाई
इस प्रोजेक्ट की खास बात इसका इंटीग्रेटेड सप्लाई चेन मॉडल है। एस्सार मिनेसोटा में अपनी आयरन-ओर माइन से कच्चा माल निकालेगा और उसी का इस्तेमाल आयोवा के नए स्टील प्लांट में किया जाएगा। इस तरह खनन से लेकर स्टील निर्माण तक पूरी आपूर्ति श्रृंखला अमेरिका में ही विकसित की जाएगी। 

प्रोजेक्‍ट को विकसित होने में लगेगा करीब एक दशक
एस्सार के चेयरमैन रेवंत रुइया ने बताया कि उनका परिवार मिनेसोटा में एक नई आयरन-ओर माइन के लिए करीब 3 अरब डॉलर का निवेश कर रहा है। उनके मुताबिक, यह अमेरिका में करीब 50 वर्षों में शुरू होने वाली पहली नई आयरन-ओर माइन होगी। प्रोजेक्‍ट को विकसित होने में करीब एक दशक लगने की उम्मीद है।

स्टील टैरिफ से जोड़ा निवेश
ट्रंप प्रशासन ने इस निवेश को अमेरिका की व्यापार नीतियों, खासकर आयातित स्टील पर लगाए गए 50 प्रतिशत शुल्क, से भी जोड़ा है। अमेरिका के कॉमर्स मिनिस्‍टर हॉवर्ड लुटनिक ने कहा कि टैरिफ के बिना यह खदान और स्टील संयंत्र नहीं बनता। ट्रंप ने भी कहा कि कंपनियां अमेरिका में उत्पादन स्थापित कर रही हैं, क्योंकि वे आयात पर शुल्क का भुगतान नहीं करना चाहतीं। हालांकि, अमेरिकी एक्सपोर्ट-इंपोर्ट बैंक ने मिनेसोटा की खदान के लिए फाइनेंसिंग में मदद की है।
