ISL 2024-25 Media Day: “Trophies in the past don’t matter; you are only as good as your last game”, says NorthEast United FC head coach Juan Pedro Benali





KKNB: The Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 Media Day began in Kolkata with representatives from seven clubs, i.e. Mohun Bagan Super Giant, East Bengal FC, Mohammedan SC, Odisha FC, Jamshedpur FC, Punjab FC and NorthEast United FC previewing the upcoming season.

The event saw a blend of new and familiar faces, with Mohun Bagan's Jose Molina and Punjab FC's Panagiotis Dilmperis making their ISL debuts as head coaches, while veterans like Sergio Lobera, Khalid Jamil, Juan Pedro Benali, and Carles Cuadrat discussed their strategies for the campaign.

The discussions, however, began with the newly-promoted Mohammedan SC head coach Andrey Chernyshov expressing his pleasure at joining the ISL, with his captain Samad Ali Mallick underlining their ambitions to challenge for the playoffs straightaway.

“It’s a nice feeling to be a part of the ISL family. We did a great job last year by winning the I-League. I am thrilled about our supporters. They had been expecting this for many years. I can’t wait to get started with the league,” Chernyshov said.

The two other Kolkata heavyweights are on their desired track ahead of the coming ISL campaign. Whilst the Mariners embark on the coveted title defence, East Bengal FC are bolstered by solid reinforcements to their squad in the summer.

“It’s a process to prepare the team for the ISL. We have been working together for a month and there are still a few things to improve upon. We are confident in our players and the way we have trained until now,” Jose Molina said.

East Bengal FC tactician Cuadrat overlooked comparisons from their sluggish start last year to insist confidently that his team will hit the ground running from their opening fixture this time around.

“It’s a different season with different players, and hence I wouldn’t like to compare to the last campaign, because every team is in a different situation as they were last time around. We have the complete squad with us and we will have to be competitive from day one,” Cuadrat said.

 Lobera eyes ISL title with Odisha FC 

Odisha FC, who finished fourth last season, are basking on their storied run across multiple competitions in 2023-24 to produce similarly impressive outings this year too.

“It’s been six years in India for me now. We had an amazing season last year, finishing at the top of the group in the AFC Cup. We were close to winning the Super Cup and we reached the ISL semi-finals for the first time in the club’s history. It was an amazing run and we want to replicate that this year to put a smile on the faces of the fans,” Lobera said.



 Challengers for the playoffs spots 

The trio of Punjab FC, NorthEast United, and Jamshedpur FC had ignited an exciting late challenge for the playoffs last season, falling short at the final hurdle. Since then, the Highlanders have gone from strength to strength, winning the club’s first trophy with the Durand Cup last month.

“We are now starting to realise with what we did in the Durand Cup! But, now, we look forward to the ISL and there’s another story that’s waiting for us in the coming season. Trophies in the past don’t make you play better. You are only as good as your last game,” Benali mentioned.

Jamshedpur FC’s Khalid Jamil praised the ISL for bringing in new rules, such as the introduction of the concussion substitute, mandating an AFC Pro License holding (or equivalent) Indian assistant coach, amongst others. Considering that he is one of the two Indian head coaches in the ISL along with Thangboi Singto of Hyderabad FC, Jamil said, “These new rules will help in the development of Indian football. We shall study it in detail and see how they could help us benefit during the course of the season as well.”

For Punjab FC, they have a new coach at helm in Greek tactician Panagiotis Dilmperis. The team has made some smart acquisitions in the transfer window and Dimperis expressed satisfaction at the same, whereas skipper Luka Majcen stressed upon the importance of a positive start.

“I am really lucky with all the players we have got in the Punjab FC roster. They are all great personalities and our aim is to achieve greater heights than we did last year,” Dimperis said.

*বাংলা পথ দেখাল: মহারাষ্ট্রে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মতো কঠোর ধর্ষণ-বিরোধী বিল দাবি করলেন শরদ পওয়ার*

এসবি নিউজ ব্যুরো:পশ্চিমবঙ্গ বিধানসভায় ঐতিহাসিক অপরাজিতা নারী ও শিশু বিল, যেখানে ধর্ষণের জন্য মৃত্যুদণ্ড-সহ কঠোরতম শাস্তির প্রস্তাব করা হয়েছে, পাস হওয়ার একদিন পরেই এনসিপি (এসপি) প্রধান শরদ পাওয়ার মহারাষ্ট্রেও একইরকম একটি বিল আনার ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করেছেন। সর্বভারতীয় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস শরদ পাওয়ারের এই সিদ্ধান্তকে স্বাগত জানিয়ে বলেছে যে, ধর্ষণের বিরুদ্ধে আন্দোলনকে আরও শক্তিশালী করতে এই পদক্ষেপ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

এই পদক্ষেপটি এই সত্যেরও প্রমাণ যে, সংস্কারের ক্ষেত্রে বাংলা সর্বদা অগ্রণী ভূমিকা পালন করেছে। এটি বাংলা-বিরোধী শক্তিগুলোর জন্যও উপযুক্ত জবাব, যারা দীর্ঘদিন ধরে দিল্লির জমিদারদের নির্দেশে বাংলার ভাবমূর্তি নষ্ট করার সর্বাত্মক চেষ্টা করে আসছে।

অপরাজিতা মহিলা ও শিশু (পশ্চিমবঙ্গ অপরাধ আইন সংশোধনী) বিল, ২০২৪ - যা সর্বসম্মতিক্রমে পাস হয়েছে - তাতে তিনটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ উপাদান রয়েছে:

 অপরাধীর জন্য কঠোর শাস্তি,
 দ্রুত তদন্ত, এবং
* দ্রুত ন্যায়বিচারের ব্যবস্থা।

বিএনএসের অধীনে যৌন হেনস্তার মামলাগুলি ছাড়াও, বিলটি পকসো আইনের অধীনে দায়ের করা মামলাগুলোকেও লক্ষ্য করেছে।

এছাড়াও, ধর্ষণ-বিরোধী বিলটি রাজ্যের প্রতিটি জেলায় ‘অপরাজিতা টাস্ক ফোর্স’ গঠনেরও ব্যবস্থা করেছে।

সর্বভারতীয় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস নিজেদের এক্স হ্যান্ডেলে লিখেছে , "What Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow! Under the leadership of Smt. GoWB is taking decisive action to ensure that women can live without fear. The Aparajita Anti-Rape Bill has prompted a leader of stature to call for a similar legislation in Maharashtra!" 

"গতকাল, রাজ্যের বিধানসভায় যে ঐতিহাসিক বিলটি পাশ করা হয়েছে তাতে ধর্ষণের দোষীদের কঠোরতম শাস্তির কথা বলা হয়েছে। এটিকে উদাহরণ হিসাবে গ্রহণ করে, অন্যান্য রাজ্যগুলিও এই ঐতিহাসিক পদক্ষেপটি বাস্তবায়নের পরিকল্পনা করছে। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, এনসিপি (এসপি) প্রধান শরদ পওয়ার মহারাষ্ট্রেও একইরকম একটি বিল আনার ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করেছেন। বাংলার এই উল্লেখযোগ্য পদক্ষেপটি মহিলাদের সুরক্ষা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য একটি নতুন পথ দেখিয়েছে, " রাজ্যের অর্থমন্ত্রী চন্দ্রিমা ভট্টাচার্য বলেছেন৷

এনসিপি (এসপি) প্রধানের অপরাজিতা বিল অনুকরণের সিদ্ধান্তের বিষয়ে সর্বভারতীয় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের জাতীয় মুখপাত্র এবং রাজ্যের মহিলা ও শিশু উন্নয়ন মন্ত্রী ড. শশী পাঁজা নিজের এক্স হ্যান্ডেলে লিখেছেন, 
"BENGAL SHOWS THE WAY. Now, Shri Sharad Pawar has pitched for West Bengal-like anti-rape bill in Maharashtra."

"মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় অপরাজিতা বিলের মাধ্যমে ইতিহাস তৈরি করেছেন। এটি শুধুমাত্র মৃত্যুদণ্ড নিশ্চিত করে না, বরং ধর্ষণের দোষীদের জন্য কঠোর শাস্তিরও আহ্বান জানায়। এটি মহিলাদের নিরাপত্তা ও সুরক্ষা জোরদার করবে। এনসিপি (এসপি) প্রধান শরদ পওয়ার এই বিলটিকে শুধু স্বাগত জানাননি, বরং এই বিলটিকে তিনি একটি 'মডেল' হিসাবেও অভিহিত করে বলেছেন যে এটা সারা দেশে বাস্তবায়ন করা উচিত। উনি বলেছেন যে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এই বিলের দ্বারা একটি নজির স্থাপন করেছেন। বাংলা আজ যা ভাবে, ভারতবর্ষ আগামীকাল তাই ভাবে এবং ভাবতে হবে" তৃণমূল মুখপাত্র কুণাল ঘোষ বলেছেন।

বুধবার রাজ্য বিধানসভায় ভাষণ দেওয়ার সময় পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন, "ধর্ষণ এখন জাতীয় লজ্জার বিষয় হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে। আসুন আমরা সবাই একত্রে এই সমস্যার মোকাবিলা করি। এই সমস্যার সমাধানে সমাজ সংস্কার ও মানুষের জাগরণের প্রয়োজন। অতীতেও পশ্চিমবঙ্গ এমন সংস্কার নেতৃত্ব দিয়েছে। রোগ থাকলে, তার চিকিৎসা হওয়া উচিত।"

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী আরও বলেন, "দেশে ধর্ষণের জন্য বর্তমান শাস্তি যথেষ্ট নয় – কেন ধর্ষকরা এমন কাজ করার সাহস পাচ্ছে? আমাদের এ বিষয়ে ভাবতে হবে। ২০২২ সালের ক্রাইম ইন ইন্ডিয়া-তে প্রকাশিত ডেটা অনুযায়ী, দেশে ধর্ষণ সংক্রান্ত মামলায় ৭৬% ক্ষেত্রে তদন্ত শেষ করে পুলিশ চার্জশিট জমা দিতে পেরেছে, কিন্তু মাত্র ২.৫৬% ক্ষেত্রে অভিযুক্তকে দোষী প্রমাণ করা হয়েছে। এই সমস্যাটি মোকাবিলা করতে হবে।"

এর আগে, সর্বভারতীয় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের সাধারণ সম্পাদক এবং ডায়মন্ড হারবারের সাংসদ অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ধর্ষণের বিরুদ্ধে একটি সর্বাঙ্গীণ আইন প্রণয়নের দাবি জানিয়েছেন, যা সময়সীমার মধ্যে অপরাধীদের জন্য কঠোর শাস্তি নিশ্চিত করবে।

"Given the harrowing statistic of a RAPE EVERY 15 MINUTES, the demand for a COMPREHENSIVE TIME-BOUND ANTI-RAPE LAW is more pressing than ever. BENGAL is leading the charge with its ANTI-RAPE BILL. The Union must now take decisive action - whether by ordinance or BNSS amendment in the upcoming parliament session to ensure that justice is both swift and severe, with TRIALS AND CONVICTIONS concluded in 50 DAYS," উনি নিজের এক্স হ্যান্ডেলে লিখেছেন।

বাংলার সঙ্গে বঞ্চনা প্রসঙ্গে অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এনডিএ সরকারের তুলোধনা করার পরদিনই সর্বভারতীয় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস বুধবার সকালে সরকারি নথি প্রকাশ করে প্রমাণ করল, ১০০ দিনের কাজের অধীনে রাজ্যকে কোনও টাকা দেওয়া হয়নি। এই ঘটনার মাধ্যমেই মঙ্গলবার কেন্দ্রীয় অর্থমন্ত্রী নির্মলা সীতারমণ যে মিথ্যাচার করেছিলেন, তাও ফাঁস হয়ে গেল। কেন্দ্রীয় অর্থমন্ত্রী বলেছিলেন, বিরোধী রাজনৈতিক দলগুলি দ্বারা শাসিত রাজ্যগুলির সঙ্গে কেন্দ্র কোনও বঞ্চনা করেনি

১৪ মার্চ, তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের সর্বভারতীয় সাধারণ সম্পাদক বিজেপি নেতৃত্বকে সরাসরি চ্যালেঞ্জ করেন। তাঁর দাবি ছিল, একুশের বিধানসভা নির্বাচনে বিজেপি হেরে যাওয়ার পর, ১০০ দিনের কাজ ও আবাস যোজনার আওতায় বাংলায় কত টাকা পাঠিয়েছে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার, তার শ্বেতপত্র প্রকাশ করা হোক। তারপর থেকে ১৩৯ দিন এবং ৩,৩৩৫ ঘণ্টারও বেশি সময় কেটে গিয়েছে। কিন্তু, বিজেপি এখনও এই বিষয়ে কোনও পদক্ষেপ করেনি। পরিবর্তে, তারা সংসদে দাঁড়িয়েই মিথ্যাচার করছে এবং বাংলার বিরুদ্ধে আর্থিক প্রতিরোধ চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে
  

  
তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের সর্বভারতীয় সাধারণ সম্পাদক তথা সাংসদ মঙ্গলবারই কেন্দ্রীয় অর্থমন্ত্রীর দাবি মিথ্যা বলে সাফ জানিয়ে দেন। সংসদের বাইরে সাংবাদিকদের প্রশ্নের উত্তরে অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় পুনরায় দাবি তোলেন, ২০২১ সালের বিধানসভা নির্বাচনে লজ্জার পরাজয়ের পর বিজেপি নেতৃত্বাধীন কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার বাংলাকে কত টাকা দিয়েছে, শ্বেতপত্র প্রকাশ করে তা সর্বসমক্ষে আনা হোক। তিনি বলেন, ‘‘ওঁরা শ্বেতপত্র প্রকাশ করতে পারছেন না। কারণ, ওঁদের কাছে সেই সংক্রান্ত কোনও তথ্যই নেই। বাংলার মানুষকে বঞ্চিত করে বিজেপি আসলে রাজনৈতিক বৈষম্যের নীতি অবলম্বন করেছে’’
  

  
পরে সন্ধ্যায় এক্স হ্যান্ডেলে তিনি লেখেন : "During her budget reply, which lasted over 100 minutes, the Hon’ble Finance Minister made hundreds of FALSE CLAIMS but failed to mention Bengal’s deprivation even once. The Union Govt claimed in Parliament that no state is being "denied any money." But even 138 Days & 3319+ hours later, leadership has failed to provide a WHITE PAPER on MGNREGA & AWAS YOJANA since their 2021 defeat in WB. The stress of being on BORROWED TIME is becoming more evident with every such cover-up!”

*क्या फिर होगा बंगाल का बंटवारा? उत्तर बंगाल और नॉर्थ ईस्ट के विलय का सुकांत मजूमदार ने दिया प्रस्ताव

अगर आप इतिहास के पन्नों को पलटें, तो देश के इतिहास में बंगाल विभाजन एक बड़ी घटना है। ब्रिटिश काल में साल 1905 में लार्ड कर्जन ने बंगाल विभाजन की घोषणा की थी। एक मुस्लिम बहुल प्रान्त का सृजन करने के उद्देश्य सेलार्ड कर्जन की घोषणा के बाद पूरा बंगाल जल उठा था और इसके खिलाफ पूरे बंगाल में उग्र प्रदर्शन हुए थे और अंततः लार्ड कर्जन को विभाजन का प्रस्ताव वापस लेना पड़ा था। बड़े पैमाने पर राजनीतिक विरोध के कारण 1911 में विभाजन रद्द कर दिया गया। हालांकि, 1936 में धार्मिक आधार पर नहीं बल्कि भाषाई आधार पर बंगाल बंट गया।बिहार और उड़ीसा प्रांत बंगाल से अलग करके बनाया गया। 1947 में बंगाल दूसरी बार, इस बार धार्मिक आधार पर, विभाजित हुआ। यह पूर्वी पाकिस्तान बन गया। 

ये बातें पृष्भूमि में हैं। असम मसला ये है कि एक बार फिर बंगाल को विभाजित करने की बातें होने लगी हैं।भाजपा की पश्चिम बंगाल इकाई के अध्यक्ष और केंद्रीय शिक्षा राज्य मंत्री सुकांत मजूमदार ने बंगाल के बंटवारे की बात कहकर हलचल मचा दिया है।मजूमदार का कहना है कि उन्होंने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से मिलकर कहा है कि राज्य के उत्तरी हिस्सों को उत्तर पूर्व क्षेत्र में शामिल करने की मांग की है।बुधवार को भाजपा के बंगाल ईकाई के अध्यक्ष और केंद्रीय राज्य मंत्री सुकांत मजूमदार ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से मुलाकात की और उन्होंने उत्तर बंगाल के आठ राज्यों को पूर्वोत्तर राज्यों के साथ विलय का प्रस्ताव दिया।

मजूमदार के इस बयान को लेकर नया राजनीतिक विवाद शुरू हो गया है। तृणमूल कांग्रेस (टीएमसी) सांसदों ने इसे अलगाववादी कदम करार दिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि इसे लागू नहीं किया जा सकता। वहीं भारतीय जनता पार्टी के सांसदों ने मजूमदार के इस प्रस्ताव का बचाव किया। भाजपा की पश्चिम बंगाल इकाई के प्रमुख मजूमदार ने बुधवार को कहा था कि उन्होंने क्षेत्र के विकास के लिए उत्तर पश्चिम बंगाल को डोनर मंत्रालय के अंतर्गत शामिल करने का प्रस्ताव प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी को दिया है। 

सुकांत मजूमदार ने उत्तर बंगाल को नॉर्थ ईस्टर्न काउंसिल में शामिल करने का प्रस्ताव दिया है, ताकि उत्तर बंगाल को भी सिक्किम की तरह उत्तर पूर्वी राज्यों के विकास के मद में मिलने वाले आवंटन का लाभ मिल सके।मजूमदार पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र के विकास से संबंधित मंत्रालय के राज्य मंत्री हैं। ऐसे में उनका यह प्रस्ताव महत्वपूर्ण हो जाता है। वे पश्चिम बंगाल भाजपा के अध्यक्ष भी हैं, जिससे मांग का राजनीतिक महत्व बढ़ जाता है।

टीएमसी ने साधा निशाना
टीएमसी नेता ने कहा, 'सुकांत मजूमदार को याद रखना चाहिए कि बंगाल के लोग ऐसी मांग बर्दाश्त नहीं करेंगे। अगर वे इस तरह से बात करेंगे तो जिस तरह से मार्क्सवादी कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी (सीपीएम) और कांग्रेस शून्य हो गए ठीक उसी तरह बंगाल में भाजपा भी शून्य हो जाएगी।'

पहले भी उठी है उत्तर बंगाल को अलग राज्य की मांग
हालांकि, ऐसा नहीं है कि पश्चिम बंगाल में अभी उत्तर बंगाल को अलग राज्य की मांग उठी है। इसके पहले भी उत्तर बंगाल में अलग राज्य की मांग उठती रही है। केवल उत्तर बंगाल में ही दार्जिलिंग में अलग गोरखालैंड की मांग, कूचबिहार में ग्रेटर कूचबिहार की मांग, कामतापुरी अलग राज्य की मांग और दक्षिण बंगाल में अलग राज्य रार बंगाल गठित करने की मांग उठती रही है।

बंगाल के राज्यपाल की बढ़ सकती हैं मुश्किलें, जानें किया है अनुच्छेद 361, जिसकी समीक्षा के लिए सुप्रीम कोर्ट तैयार

पश्चिम बंगाल राजभवन की एक महिला कर्मचारी द्वारा दायर याचिका की जांच करने के लिए सुप्रीम कोर्च सहमत हो गया है। महिला ने राज्यपाल सी.वी. आनंद बोस पर यौन उत्पीड़न का आरोप लगाया था। जिसमें संविधान के अनुच्छेद 361 के तहत राज्यपाल को दी गई छूट को चुनौती दी गई थी। इस मामले में सुप्रीम कोर्ट संविधान के अनुच्छेद 361 के उन प्रावधानों की समीक्षा करने पर सहमत हो गया जो राज्यपालों को किसी भी तरह के आपराधिक मुकदमे से ‘‘पूर्ण छूट'' प्रदान करते हैं। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मामले में अटॉर्नी जनरल से सहायता मांगी है और महिला कर्मचारी द्वारा दायर याचिका पर नोटिस जारी किया है। 

महिला से यौन उत्पीड़न के आरोप में बंगाल के राज्यपाल सीवी आनंद बोस की मुश्किलें बढ़ सकती हैं। बता दें कि यह अनुच्छेद संविधान के अनुच्छेद 14 (समानता का अधिकार) का अपवाद है और यह प्रावधान करता है कि राष्ट्रपति या राज्यपाल अपने पद की शक्तियों और कर्तव्यों के प्रयोग के लिए किसी भी अदालत के प्रति जवाबदेह नहीं हैं। इसी के खिलाफ महिला याचिकाकर्ता ने विशिष्ट दिशा-निर्देश तैयार करने के निर्देश मांगे हैं, जिसके तहत राज्यपालों को आपराधिक अभियोजन से छूट प्राप्त 

याचिका में कहा गया है कि पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार को राज्य पुलिस के माध्यम से मामले की जांच करने और राज्यपाल का बयान दर्ज करने का निर्देश दिया जाए। सुप्रीम कोर्ट में यह याचिका संविधान के अनुच्छेद 32 के तहत दायर की गई है। याचिकाकर्ता की मांग है कि अनुच्छेद 361 के तहत मिली छूट का राज्यपाल किस तरह से इस्तेमाल कर सकता है इस पर भी दिशा-निर्देश तैयार किए जाएं।

याचिकाकर्ता की ओर से पेश वरिष्ठ वकील श्याम दीवान ने कहा कि संविधान का अनुच्छेद 361 जांच के खिलाफ बाधा नहीं बन सकता. दीवान ने कहा कि ऐसा नहीं हो सकता कि जांच ही न हो, साक्ष्य अभी जुटाए जाने चाहिए। उन्होंने अदालत से मांग की कि राज्यपाल के खिलाफ जांच को अनिश्चितकाल के लिए नहीं टाला जा सकता।याचिकाकर्ता ने तर्क दिया है कि राज्यपाल आपराधिक कृत्यों को लेकर इस छूट का दावा नहीं कर सकते। याचिकाकर्ता ने तर्क दिया है कि इस इम्यूनिटी से उन्हें मुकदमा शुरू करने के लिए राज्यपाल का पद छोड़ने का इंतजार करना पड़ेगा, जो अनुचित है और उनके मौलिक अधिकारों का उल्लंघन है।

पश्चिम बंगाल के राजभवन की महिला कर्मचारी ने 2 मई को राज्यपाल सीवी आनंद बोस पर यौन उत्पीड़न का आरोप लगाया था। महिला का आरोप है कि वो 24 मार्च को स्थायी नौकरी का निवेदन लेकर राज्यपाल के पास गई थी. तब राज्यपाल ने उसके साथ बदसलूकी की थी।

 *Khabar Kolkata* : Kolkata football season kicks off with the Kolkata League. This time, the stick is going to fall on the lid of the Durand Cup. This time too, the traditional Durand will start at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Stadium in Kolkata. The final will also be held at Kolkata's Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Stadium. With this, the Durand Cup is being organized in Kolkata for the fifth consecutive time. The Army Department is quite pleased with the way the Durand craze has spread in football towns over the past few years.Last year, East Bengal-Mohun Bagan met in the final of the Durand Cup. Mohun Bagan became Durand champion.
  
The 133rd Durand Cup will start from July 27. The opening match will be held at Yuva Bharati Sports Complex. Final 31 August. The announcement was made from the Eastern Command headquarters on Tuesday. Along with Kolkata, like last year, Durand's match will be in Assam's Kokrajhar. Along with this, Durand's matches will be held in two new cities, Jamshedpur and Shillong.Along with ISL, I-League heavy weight teams & army teams will also participate in this 24-team tournament. Like last year, foreign teams can come here to play the invitational tournament. 24 teams will be divided into 6 groups. Each group will have 4 teams. The top team from each group will advance to the knock outs. Out of the 6 groups, the remaining 2 teams will play in the knock out as the second best. Durand's trophy tour starts on the 10th.

ISL 2024-25 Media Day: “Trophies in the past don’t matter; you are only as good as your last game”, says NorthEast United FC head coach Juan Pedro Benali





KKNB: The Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 Media Day began in Kolkata with representatives from seven clubs, i.e. Mohun Bagan Super Giant, East Bengal FC, Mohammedan SC, Odisha FC, Jamshedpur FC, Punjab FC and NorthEast United FC previewing the upcoming season.

The event saw a blend of new and familiar faces, with Mohun Bagan's Jose Molina and Punjab FC's Panagiotis Dilmperis making their ISL debuts as head coaches, while veterans like Sergio Lobera, Khalid Jamil, Juan Pedro Benali, and Carles Cuadrat discussed their strategies for the campaign.

The discussions, however, began with the newly-promoted Mohammedan SC head coach Andrey Chernyshov expressing his pleasure at joining the ISL, with his captain Samad Ali Mallick underlining their ambitions to challenge for the playoffs straightaway.

“It’s a nice feeling to be a part of the ISL family. We did a great job last year by winning the I-League. I am thrilled about our supporters. They had been expecting this for many years. I can’t wait to get started with the league,” Chernyshov said.

The two other Kolkata heavyweights are on their desired track ahead of the coming ISL campaign. Whilst the Mariners embark on the coveted title defence, East Bengal FC are bolstered by solid reinforcements to their squad in the summer.

“It’s a process to prepare the team for the ISL. We have been working together for a month and there are still a few things to improve upon. We are confident in our players and the way we have trained until now,” Jose Molina said.

East Bengal FC tactician Cuadrat overlooked comparisons from their sluggish start last year to insist confidently that his team will hit the ground running from their opening fixture this time around.

“It’s a different season with different players, and hence I wouldn’t like to compare to the last campaign, because every team is in a different situation as they were last time around. We have the complete squad with us and we will have to be competitive from day one,” Cuadrat said.

 Lobera eyes ISL title with Odisha FC 

Odisha FC, who finished fourth last season, are basking on their storied run across multiple competitions in 2023-24 to produce similarly impressive outings this year too.

“It’s been six years in India for me now. We had an amazing season last year, finishing at the top of the group in the AFC Cup. We were close to winning the Super Cup and we reached the ISL semi-finals for the first time in the club’s history. It was an amazing run and we want to replicate that this year to put a smile on the faces of the fans,” Lobera said.



 Challengers for the playoffs spots 

The trio of Punjab FC, NorthEast United, and Jamshedpur FC had ignited an exciting late challenge for the playoffs last season, falling short at the final hurdle. Since then, the Highlanders have gone from strength to strength, winning the club’s first trophy with the Durand Cup last month.

“We are now starting to realise with what we did in the Durand Cup! But, now, we look forward to the ISL and there’s another story that’s waiting for us in the coming season. Trophies in the past don’t make you play better. You are only as good as your last game,” Benali mentioned.

Jamshedpur FC’s Khalid Jamil praised the ISL for bringing in new rules, such as the introduction of the concussion substitute, mandating an AFC Pro License holding (or equivalent) Indian assistant coach, amongst others. Considering that he is one of the two Indian head coaches in the ISL along with Thangboi Singto of Hyderabad FC, Jamil said, “These new rules will help in the development of Indian football. We shall study it in detail and see how they could help us benefit during the course of the season as well.”

For Punjab FC, they have a new coach at helm in Greek tactician Panagiotis Dilmperis. The team has made some smart acquisitions in the transfer window and Dimperis expressed satisfaction at the same, whereas skipper Luka Majcen stressed upon the importance of a positive start.

“I am really lucky with all the players we have got in the Punjab FC roster. They are all great personalities and our aim is to achieve greater heights than we did last year,” Dimperis said.

এসবি নিউজ ব্যুরো:পশ্চিমবঙ্গ বিধানসভায় ঐতিহাসিক অপরাজিতা নারী ও শিশু বিল, যেখানে ধর্ষণের জন্য মৃত্যুদণ্ড-সহ কঠোরতম শাস্তির প্রস্তাব করা হয়েছে, পাস হওয়ার একদিন পরেই এনসিপি (এসপি) প্রধান শরদ পাওয়ার মহারাষ্ট্রেও একইরকম একটি বিল আনার ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করেছেন। সর্বভারতীয় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস শরদ পাওয়ারের এই সিদ্ধান্তকে স্বাগত জানিয়ে বলেছে যে, ধর্ষণের বিরুদ্ধে আন্দোলনকে আরও শক্তিশালী করতে এই পদক্ষেপ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

এই পদক্ষেপটি এই সত্যেরও প্রমাণ যে, সংস্কারের ক্ষেত্রে বাংলা সর্বদা অগ্রণী ভূমিকা পালন করেছে। এটি বাংলা-বিরোধী শক্তিগুলোর জন্যও উপযুক্ত জবাব, যারা দীর্ঘদিন ধরে দিল্লির জমিদারদের নির্দেশে বাংলার ভাবমূর্তি নষ্ট করার সর্বাত্মক চেষ্টা করে আসছে।

অপরাজিতা মহিলা ও শিশু (পশ্চিমবঙ্গ অপরাধ আইন সংশোধনী) বিল, ২০২৪ - যা সর্বসম্মতিক্রমে পাস হয়েছে - তাতে তিনটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ উপাদান রয়েছে:

 অপরাধীর জন্য কঠোর শাস্তি,
 দ্রুত তদন্ত, এবং
* দ্রুত ন্যায়বিচারের ব্যবস্থা।

বিএনএসের অধীনে যৌন হেনস্তার মামলাগুলি ছাড়াও, বিলটি পকসো আইনের অধীনে দায়ের করা মামলাগুলোকেও লক্ষ্য করেছে।

এছাড়াও, ধর্ষণ-বিরোধী বিলটি রাজ্যের প্রতিটি জেলায় ‘অপরাজিতা টাস্ক ফোর্স’ গঠনেরও ব্যবস্থা করেছে।

সর্বভারতীয় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস নিজেদের এক্স হ্যান্ডেলে লিখেছে , "What Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow! Under the leadership of Smt. GoWB is taking decisive action to ensure that women can live without fear. The Aparajita Anti-Rape Bill has prompted a leader of stature to call for a similar legislation in Maharashtra!" 

"গতকাল, রাজ্যের বিধানসভায় যে ঐতিহাসিক বিলটি পাশ করা হয়েছে তাতে ধর্ষণের দোষীদের কঠোরতম শাস্তির কথা বলা হয়েছে। এটিকে উদাহরণ হিসাবে গ্রহণ করে, অন্যান্য রাজ্যগুলিও এই ঐতিহাসিক পদক্ষেপটি বাস্তবায়নের পরিকল্পনা করছে। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, এনসিপি (এসপি) প্রধান শরদ পওয়ার মহারাষ্ট্রেও একইরকম একটি বিল আনার ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করেছেন। বাংলার এই উল্লেখযোগ্য পদক্ষেপটি মহিলাদের সুরক্ষা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য একটি নতুন পথ দেখিয়েছে, " রাজ্যের অর্থমন্ত্রী চন্দ্রিমা ভট্টাচার্য বলেছেন৷

এনসিপি (এসপি) প্রধানের অপরাজিতা বিল অনুকরণের সিদ্ধান্তের বিষয়ে সর্বভারতীয় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের জাতীয় মুখপাত্র এবং রাজ্যের মহিলা ও শিশু উন্নয়ন মন্ত্রী ড. শশী পাঁজা নিজের এক্স হ্যান্ডেলে লিখেছেন, 
"BENGAL SHOWS THE WAY. Now, Shri Sharad Pawar has pitched for West Bengal-like anti-rape bill in Maharashtra."

"মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় অপরাজিতা বিলের মাধ্যমে ইতিহাস তৈরি করেছেন। এটি শুধুমাত্র মৃত্যুদণ্ড নিশ্চিত করে না, বরং ধর্ষণের দোষীদের জন্য কঠোর শাস্তিরও আহ্বান জানায়। এটি মহিলাদের নিরাপত্তা ও সুরক্ষা জোরদার করবে। এনসিপি (এসপি) প্রধান শরদ পওয়ার এই বিলটিকে শুধু স্বাগত জানাননি, বরং এই বিলটিকে তিনি একটি 'মডেল' হিসাবেও অভিহিত করে বলেছেন যে এটা সারা দেশে বাস্তবায়ন করা উচিত। উনি বলেছেন যে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এই বিলের দ্বারা একটি নজির স্থাপন করেছেন। বাংলা আজ যা ভাবে, ভারতবর্ষ আগামীকাল তাই ভাবে এবং ভাবতে হবে" তৃণমূল মুখপাত্র কুণাল ঘোষ বলেছেন।

বুধবার রাজ্য বিধানসভায় ভাষণ দেওয়ার সময় পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন, "ধর্ষণ এখন জাতীয় লজ্জার বিষয় হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে। আসুন আমরা সবাই একত্রে এই সমস্যার মোকাবিলা করি। এই সমস্যার সমাধানে সমাজ সংস্কার ও মানুষের জাগরণের প্রয়োজন। অতীতেও পশ্চিমবঙ্গ এমন সংস্কার নেতৃত্ব দিয়েছে। রোগ থাকলে, তার চিকিৎসা হওয়া উচিত।"

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী আরও বলেন, "দেশে ধর্ষণের জন্য বর্তমান শাস্তি যথেষ্ট নয় – কেন ধর্ষকরা এমন কাজ করার সাহস পাচ্ছে? আমাদের এ বিষয়ে ভাবতে হবে। ২০২২ সালের ক্রাইম ইন ইন্ডিয়া-তে প্রকাশিত ডেটা অনুযায়ী, দেশে ধর্ষণ সংক্রান্ত মামলায় ৭৬% ক্ষেত্রে তদন্ত শেষ করে পুলিশ চার্জশিট জমা দিতে পেরেছে, কিন্তু মাত্র ২.৫৬% ক্ষেত্রে অভিযুক্তকে দোষী প্রমাণ করা হয়েছে। এই সমস্যাটি মোকাবিলা করতে হবে।"

এর আগে, সর্বভারতীয় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের সাধারণ সম্পাদক এবং ডায়মন্ড হারবারের সাংসদ অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ধর্ষণের বিরুদ্ধে একটি সর্বাঙ্গীণ আইন প্রণয়নের দাবি জানিয়েছেন, যা সময়সীমার মধ্যে অপরাধীদের জন্য কঠোর শাস্তি নিশ্চিত করবে।

"Given the harrowing statistic of a RAPE EVERY 15 MINUTES, the demand for a COMPREHENSIVE TIME-BOUND ANTI-RAPE LAW is more pressing than ever. BENGAL is leading the charge with its ANTI-RAPE BILL. The Union must now take decisive action - whether by ordinance or BNSS amendment in the upcoming parliament session to ensure that justice is both swift and severe, with TRIALS AND CONVICTIONS concluded in 50 DAYS," উনি নিজের এক্স হ্যান্ডেলে লিখেছেন।

বাংলার সঙ্গে বঞ্চনা প্রসঙ্গে অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এনডিএ সরকারের তুলোধনা করার পরদিনই সর্বভারতীয় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস বুধবার সকালে সরকারি নথি প্রকাশ করে প্রমাণ করল, ১০০ দিনের কাজের অধীনে রাজ্যকে কোনও টাকা দেওয়া হয়নি। এই ঘটনার মাধ্যমেই মঙ্গলবার কেন্দ্রীয় অর্থমন্ত্রী নির্মলা সীতারমণ যে মিথ্যাচার করেছিলেন, তাও ফাঁস হয়ে গেল। কেন্দ্রীয় অর্থমন্ত্রী বলেছিলেন, বিরোধী রাজনৈতিক দলগুলি দ্বারা শাসিত রাজ্যগুলির সঙ্গে কেন্দ্র কোনও বঞ্চনা করেনি

তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের সর্বভারতীয় সাধারণ সম্পাদক তথা সাংসদ মঙ্গলবারই কেন্দ্রীয় অর্থমন্ত্রীর দাবি মিথ্যা বলে সাফ জানিয়ে দেন। সংসদের বাইরে সাংবাদিকদের প্রশ্নের উত্তরে অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় পুনরায় দাবি তোলেন, ২০২১ সালের বিধানসভা নির্বাচনে লজ্জার পরাজয়ের পর বিজেপি নেতৃত্বাধীন কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার বাংলাকে কত টাকা দিয়েছে, শ্বেতপত্র প্রকাশ করে তা সর্বসমক্ষে আনা হোক। তিনি বলেন, ‘‘ওঁরা শ্বেতপত্র প্রকাশ করতে পারছেন না। কারণ, ওঁদের কাছে সেই সংক্রান্ত কোনও তথ্যই নেই। বাংলার মানুষকে বঞ্চিত করে বিজেপি আসলে রাজনৈতিক বৈষম্যের নীতি অবলম্বন করেছে’’

*क्या फिर होगा बंगाल का बंटवारा? उत्तर बंगाल और नॉर्थ ईस्ट के विलय का सुकांत मजूमदार ने दिया प्रस्ताव

अगर आप इतिहास के पन्नों को पलटें, तो देश के इतिहास में बंगाल विभाजन एक बड़ी घटना है। ब्रिटिश काल में साल 1905 में लार्ड कर्जन ने बंगाल विभाजन की घोषणा की थी। एक मुस्लिम बहुल प्रान्त का सृजन करने के उद्देश्य सेलार्ड कर्जन की घोषणा के बाद पूरा बंगाल जल उठा था और इसके खिलाफ पूरे बंगाल में उग्र प्रदर्शन हुए थे और अंततः लार्ड कर्जन को विभाजन का प्रस्ताव वापस लेना पड़ा था। बड़े पैमाने पर राजनीतिक विरोध के कारण 1911 में विभाजन रद्द कर दिया गया। हालांकि, 1936 में धार्मिक आधार पर नहीं बल्कि भाषाई आधार पर बंगाल बंट गया।बिहार और उड़ीसा प्रांत बंगाल से अलग करके बनाया गया। 1947 में बंगाल दूसरी बार, इस बार धार्मिक आधार पर, विभाजित हुआ। यह पूर्वी पाकिस्तान बन गया। 

ये बातें पृष्भूमि में हैं। असम मसला ये है कि एक बार फिर बंगाल को विभाजित करने की बातें होने लगी हैं।भाजपा की पश्चिम बंगाल इकाई के अध्यक्ष और केंद्रीय शिक्षा राज्य मंत्री सुकांत मजूमदार ने बंगाल के बंटवारे की बात कहकर हलचल मचा दिया है।मजूमदार का कहना है कि उन्होंने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से मिलकर कहा है कि राज्य के उत्तरी हिस्सों को उत्तर पूर्व क्षेत्र में शामिल करने की मांग की है।बुधवार को भाजपा के बंगाल ईकाई के अध्यक्ष और केंद्रीय राज्य मंत्री सुकांत मजूमदार ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से मुलाकात की और उन्होंने उत्तर बंगाल के आठ राज्यों को पूर्वोत्तर राज्यों के साथ विलय का प्रस्ताव दिया।

मजूमदार के इस बयान को लेकर नया राजनीतिक विवाद शुरू हो गया है। तृणमूल कांग्रेस (टीएमसी) सांसदों ने इसे अलगाववादी कदम करार दिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि इसे लागू नहीं किया जा सकता। वहीं भारतीय जनता पार्टी के सांसदों ने मजूमदार के इस प्रस्ताव का बचाव किया। भाजपा की पश्चिम बंगाल इकाई के प्रमुख मजूमदार ने बुधवार को कहा था कि उन्होंने क्षेत्र के विकास के लिए उत्तर पश्चिम बंगाल को डोनर मंत्रालय के अंतर्गत शामिल करने का प्रस्ताव प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी को दिया है। 

सुकांत मजूमदार ने उत्तर बंगाल को नॉर्थ ईस्टर्न काउंसिल में शामिल करने का प्रस्ताव दिया है, ताकि उत्तर बंगाल को भी सिक्किम की तरह उत्तर पूर्वी राज्यों के विकास के मद में मिलने वाले आवंटन का लाभ मिल सके।मजूमदार पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र के विकास से संबंधित मंत्रालय के राज्य मंत्री हैं। ऐसे में उनका यह प्रस्ताव महत्वपूर्ण हो जाता है। वे पश्चिम बंगाल भाजपा के अध्यक्ष भी हैं, जिससे मांग का राजनीतिक महत्व बढ़ जाता है।

टीएमसी ने साधा निशाना
टीएमसी नेता ने कहा, 'सुकांत मजूमदार को याद रखना चाहिए कि बंगाल के लोग ऐसी मांग बर्दाश्त नहीं करेंगे। अगर वे इस तरह से बात करेंगे तो जिस तरह से मार्क्सवादी कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी (सीपीएम) और कांग्रेस शून्य हो गए ठीक उसी तरह बंगाल में भाजपा भी शून्य हो जाएगी।'

पहले भी उठी है उत्तर बंगाल को अलग राज्य की मांग
हालांकि, ऐसा नहीं है कि पश्चिम बंगाल में अभी उत्तर बंगाल को अलग राज्य की मांग उठी है। इसके पहले भी उत्तर बंगाल में अलग राज्य की मांग उठती रही है। केवल उत्तर बंगाल में ही दार्जिलिंग में अलग गोरखालैंड की मांग, कूचबिहार में ग्रेटर कूचबिहार की मांग, कामतापुरी अलग राज्य की मांग और दक्षिण बंगाल में अलग राज्य रार बंगाल गठित करने की मांग उठती रही है।
सुकांत मजूमदार से पहले साल 2021में पूर्व केंद्रीय राज्य मंत्री और अलीपुरद्वार से पूर्व सांसद जॉन बारला सहित कुछ भाजपा नेताओं ने उत्तर बंगाल के आठ जिलों कूचबिहार, दार्जिलिंग, उत्तर दिनाजपुर, दक्षिण दिनाजपुर, जलपाईगुड़ी, मालदा, अलीपुरद्वार और कलिम्पोंग को मिलाकर एक केंद्र शासित प्रदेश बनाने का सुझाव दिया था। जॉन बारला की मांग पर जब हंगामा मचने लगा था, उस समय प्रदेश भाजपा अध्यक्ष सुकांत मजूमदार ने उस मांग से किनारा कर लिया था।

बंगाल के राज्यपाल की बढ़ सकती हैं मुश्किलें, जानें किया है अनुच्छेद 361, जिसकी समीक्षा के लिए सुप्रीम कोर्ट तैयार

पश्चिम बंगाल राजभवन की एक महिला कर्मचारी द्वारा दायर याचिका की जांच करने के लिए सुप्रीम कोर्च सहमत हो गया है। महिला ने राज्यपाल सी.वी. आनंद बोस पर यौन उत्पीड़न का आरोप लगाया था। जिसमें संविधान के अनुच्छेद 361 के तहत राज्यपाल को दी गई छूट को चुनौती दी गई थी। इस मामले में सुप्रीम कोर्ट संविधान के अनुच्छेद 361 के उन प्रावधानों की समीक्षा करने पर सहमत हो गया जो राज्यपालों को किसी भी तरह के आपराधिक मुकदमे से ‘‘पूर्ण छूट'' प्रदान करते हैं। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मामले में अटॉर्नी जनरल से सहायता मांगी है और महिला कर्मचारी द्वारा दायर याचिका पर नोटिस जारी किया है। 

महिला से यौन उत्पीड़न के आरोप में बंगाल के राज्यपाल सीवी आनंद बोस की मुश्किलें बढ़ सकती हैं। बता दें कि यह अनुच्छेद संविधान के अनुच्छेद 14 (समानता का अधिकार) का अपवाद है और यह प्रावधान करता है कि राष्ट्रपति या राज्यपाल अपने पद की शक्तियों और कर्तव्यों के प्रयोग के लिए किसी भी अदालत के प्रति जवाबदेह नहीं हैं। इसी के खिलाफ महिला याचिकाकर्ता ने विशिष्ट दिशा-निर्देश तैयार करने के निर्देश मांगे हैं, जिसके तहत राज्यपालों को आपराधिक अभियोजन से छूट प्राप्त 

याचिका में कहा गया है कि पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार को राज्य पुलिस के माध्यम से मामले की जांच करने और राज्यपाल का बयान दर्ज करने का निर्देश दिया जाए। सुप्रीम कोर्ट में यह याचिका संविधान के अनुच्छेद 32 के तहत दायर की गई है। याचिकाकर्ता की मांग है कि अनुच्छेद 361 के तहत मिली छूट का राज्यपाल किस तरह से इस्तेमाल कर सकता है इस पर भी दिशा-निर्देश तैयार किए जाएं।

याचिकाकर्ता की ओर से पेश वरिष्ठ वकील श्याम दीवान ने कहा कि संविधान का अनुच्छेद 361 जांच के खिलाफ बाधा नहीं बन सकता. दीवान ने कहा कि ऐसा नहीं हो सकता कि जांच ही न हो, साक्ष्य अभी जुटाए जाने चाहिए। उन्होंने अदालत से मांग की कि राज्यपाल के खिलाफ जांच को अनिश्चितकाल के लिए नहीं टाला जा सकता।याचिकाकर्ता ने तर्क दिया है कि राज्यपाल आपराधिक कृत्यों को लेकर इस छूट का दावा नहीं कर सकते। याचिकाकर्ता ने तर्क दिया है कि इस इम्यूनिटी से उन्हें मुकदमा शुरू करने के लिए राज्यपाल का पद छोड़ने का इंतजार करना पड़ेगा, जो अनुचित है और उनके मौलिक अधिकारों का उल्लंघन है।

पश्चिम बंगाल के राजभवन की महिला कर्मचारी ने 2 मई को राज्यपाल सीवी आनंद बोस पर यौन उत्पीड़न का आरोप लगाया था। महिला का आरोप है कि वो 24 मार्च को स्थायी नौकरी का निवेदन लेकर राज्यपाल के पास गई थी. तब राज्यपाल ने उसके साथ बदसलूकी की थी।

The recent allocation of Rs 22 crores by the Central Government for the restoration of NH-55 is a crucial step forward. Out of this, Rs 4 crores has been earmarked specifically for the restoration of connectivity in Pagla Jhora. The swift action taken by the Central Govt to ensure early connectivity in our region is demonstrative of the high priority central government has accorded our region. Furthermore, I have engaged with West Bengal PWD NH Division to expedite the approval of a proposed alternative route worth Rs 71 lakhs, aimed at restoring connectivity promptly in Pagla Jhora.
  

  
In Mahanadi 63 Line under Kurseong sub-division, where significant landslides have disrupted lives, expert consultants will be deployed to assess the landslides and initiate permanent solutions.
  
As a gesture of solidarity, I will be providing financial assistance to affected families, including Rs 1 Lakh to a family whose house was completely damaged, and Rs 50,000 each to those with partially damaged houses in Mahanadi 63 Line.

 *Khabar Kolkata* : Kolkata football season kicks off with the Kolkata League. This time, the stick is going to fall on the lid of the Durand Cup. This time too, the traditional Durand will start at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Stadium in Kolkata. The final will also be held at Kolkata's Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Stadium. With this, the Durand Cup is being organized in Kolkata for the fifth consecutive time. The Army Department is quite pleased with the way the Durand craze has spread in football towns over the past few years.Last year, East Bengal-Mohun Bagan met in the final of the Durand Cup. Mohun Bagan became Durand champion.
  
The 133rd Durand Cup will start from July 27. The opening match will be held at Yuva Bharati Sports Complex. Final 31 August. The announcement was made from the Eastern Command headquarters on Tuesday. Along with Kolkata, like last year, Durand's match will be in Assam's Kokrajhar. Along with this, Durand's matches will be held in two new cities, Jamshedpur and Shillong.Along with ISL, I-League heavy weight teams & army teams will also participate in this 24-team tournament. Like last year, foreign teams can come here to play the invitational tournament. 24 teams will be divided into 6 groups. Each group will have 4 teams. The top team from each group will advance to the knock outs. Out of the 6 groups, the remaining 2 teams will play in the knock out as the second best. Durand's trophy tour starts on the 10th.
