“पैथोजेन्स, प्लांट हेल्थ एंड फूड सिक्योरिटी: क्लाइमेट रेजिलिएंट एग्रीकल्चर एंड लैंडस्केप कंजर्वेशन” विषय पर आयोजित चार दिवसीय अंतरराष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन मे बतौर मुख्य अतिथि शामिल हुए।

उप मुख्यमंत्री श्री मौर्य ने अपने संबोधन में कहा कि कृषि, नवाचार और आधुनिक तकनीक के समन्वय से ही आत्मनिर्भर एवं विकसित भारत का निर्माण संभव है। उन्होंने कहा कि खाद्य सुरक्षा केवल उत्पादन तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि भंडारण, कोल्ड चेन, प्रसंस्करण, गुणवत्ता और प्रभावी विपणन से जुड़ा एक व्यापक विषय है, जिस पर गंभीरता से कार्य करने की आवश्यकता है।
उन्होंने कहा कि भारत एक कृषि प्रधान देश है और उत्तर प्रदेश देश की सबसे उपजाऊ भूमि वाला प्रदेश है, जहां उत्पादन की अपार संभावनाएं हैं। इसके बावजूद फसलों के भंडारण की कमी, कोल्ड चेन की अपर्याप्त व्यवस्था तथा वैल्यू एडिशन के अभाव के कारण किसानों को अपेक्षित लाभ नहीं मिल पाता। उन्होंने उदाहरण देते हुए कहा कि कई बार अधिक उत्पादन होने पर भी किसानों को उचित मूल्य नहीं मिल पाता, जो शोध और नीति निर्माण का महत्वपूर्ण विषय है।
