 इजराइल के पीएम बेंजामिन नेतन्याहू अमेरिकी दौरे पर हैं। बुधवार रात (भारतीय समय के मुताबिक) अमेरिका में उन्होंने कांग्रेस के संयुक्त सत्र को संबोधित किया। हालांकि, इस दौरान जमकर हंगामा हुआ। उनके इस संबोधन के दौरान संसद के अंदर और बाहर दोनों जगह विरोध देखने को मिला। नेतन्याहू की गिरफ्तारी की मांग को लेकर हजारों प्रदर्शनकारियों ने कैपिटल बिल्डिंग के आसपास मार्च किया। वहीं, फलस्तीनी मूल की अमेरिकी सांसद राशिदा तलैब ने संसद में इस्राइली पीएम के भाषण के दौरान विरोध जताया। उन्होंने 'युद्ध अपराधी' और 'नरसंहार का दोषी' वाली तख्ती दिखाकर विरोध जताया। बेंजामिन नेतन्याहू के संबोधन का करीब 50 सांसदों ने बहिष्कार किया।डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टी के 50 से अधिक सांसदों और निर्दलीय सांसद बर्नी सैंडर्स ने नेतन्याहू के संबोधन का बहिष्कार किया। उप राष्ट्रपति कमला हैरिस भी उनके इस संबोधन में हिस्सा नहीं ले पाई, उनके उपस्थित न होने का कारण पूर्व निर्धारित कार्यक्रम को बताया गया। डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टी की सांसद पैटी मरे, मिशिगन से डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टी की सांसद रशीदा तलैब ने भी संबोधन का विरोध किया। वहीं दूसरी ओर, फिलिस्तीन समर्थक प्रदर्शनकारियों ने वाशिंगटन डीसी स्थित वाटरगेट होटल में कथित तौर पर अराजकता पैदा की है, जहां इजराइल के प्रधानमंत्री बेंजामिन नेतन्याहू ठहरे हुए हैं। सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल हो रहे कई वीडियो में देखा जा सकता है कि होटल में डाइनिंग टेबल पर कीड़े रखे हुए हैं। दावा किया जा रहा है कि फिलिस्तीनी प्रदर्शनकारियों ने होटल की कई मंजिलों पर झींगुर भी छोड़े, जिससे लगभग 30 मिनट तक फायर अलार्म चालू रहा। वहीं, विरोध के बीच अपने संबोधन में नेतन्याहू ने दोहराया कि जब तक हमास को पूरी तरह से मिटा नहीं देते युद्ध खत्म नहीं होगा। इस दौरान उन्होंने ईरान को अमेरिका और इजराइल का सबसे बड़ा दुश्मन बताया। साथ ही उन्होंने हमास और अन्य ईरान समर्थित सशस्त्र समूहों के खिलाफ युद्ध के लिए अमेरिकी समर्थन बढ़ाने की भी मांग की।
