খবর কলকাতা: কলকাতার বিবেকানন্দ যুবভারতীতে ক্রীড়াঙ্গনে আজ আইএসএল শুরু হচ্ছে মোহনবাগান ও মুম্বইয়ের দ্বৈরথ দিয়েই।গত মরসুমে ঘরের মাঠে মুম্বই সিটি এফসি-কে হারিয়েই আইএসএলের লিগ-শিল্ড জিতেছিল মোহনবাগান। আবার  মুম্বই প্রতিশোধ নেয় মোহনবাগানকে হারিয়ে আইএসএলের কাপ জিতে।
তবে এই মরসুমে গত মরসুমের থেকে দুই দলেই অনেক পরিবর্তন হয়েছে। হর্হে পেরেরা দিয়াস-সহ একাধিক ফুটবলার দল বদল করে যোগ দিয়েছে বেঙ্গালুরুতে। অন্য দিকে, মুম্বই থেকে মোহনবাগানে এসেছেন আপুইয়া। মোহনবাগানও নতুন ভাবে শুরু করছে কোচ হোসে মোলিনার অধীনে। আনোয়ার আলিকে হারানো ছাড়া তাদের দলে অবশ্য খুব বেশি বদল হয়নি। বৃহস্পতিবার এক সাংবাদিক সম্মেলনে মোলিনা অবশ্য সাফ জানালেন, "গত মরসুমে কী হয়েছিল তা তাঁর মাথায় নেই।"বৃহস্পতিবার মোহনবাগান তাঁবুতে সাংবাদিক বৈঠকে তিনি বলেন, “গত বারের বেশ কিছু ম্যাচ দেখেছি ঠিকই। কিন্তু এটা নতুন মরসুম। নতুন অধ্যায় শুরু হতে চলেছে। নতুন ফুটবলারেরাও এসেছে। আমি নিজেও ছিলাম না গতবার। তাই পরিস্থিতি সম্পূর্ণ আলাদা। গত বার কী হয়েছে তা মাথাতেই রাখছি না।”
তবে মোহনবাগান-মুম্বই ম্যাচ গত কয়েক বছর ধরেই অন্য মাত্রা পেয়েছে। দু’দলেই তারকা ফুটবলার ভর্তি।ডুরান্ড কাপের ফাইনালে উঠলেও ট্রফি জিততে পারেনি মোহনবাগান। তবে ৬’টি ম্যাচ খেলতে পেরেছে। যদিও তাতে সঠিক প্রস্তুতি হয়েছে এমনটা মানতে রাজি নন মোলিনা। প্রস্তুতির খামতির কথা স্পেনীয় কোচ মেনে নিয়েছেন।মোলিনার কথায়, “দলের ফুটবলারেরা যে ভাবে পরিশ্রম করেছে তাতে আমি খুশি। ওরা প্রত্যেকে নিজেদের দায়িত্ব পালন করেছে। তবে এখনও অনেক উন্নতি করতে হবে। ডুরান্ড কাপ প্রস্তুতির সঠিক মঞ্চ নয়। মাত্র ৬’সপ্তাহ কোনও দলকে ফিটনেস বা বোঝাপড়ার দিক থেকে সেরা পর্যায়ে তুলে আনা যায় না। আরও সময় দরকার।এখন যাবতীয় নজর আইএসএলে।”
মোলিনার সঙ্গে এদিন সাংবাদিক বৈঠকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন আপুইয়া, যিনি এবারই মুম্বই থেকে মোহনবাগানে এসেছেন। আপুইয়া বললেন, “এত দিন মুম্বইয়ের হয়ে খেলেছি। এবার ওদের বিরুদ্ধে খেলব ভেবে উত্তেজনা হচ্ছে। মোহনবাগানের হয়ে খেলা আমার স্বপ্ন ছিল। মুম্বই ছেড়ে আসলেও ওদের প্রতি কোনও রাগ নেই।”

Bishop Canning-Artage Sports Academy began with a function at St. Thomas’ Boys’ School


 
 
  Khabar kolkata:The journey of Bishop Canning-Artage Sports Academy began with a function at St. Thomas’ Boys’ School, Kidderpore on Thursday. On that occasion, two former footballers of Mohun Bagan and East Bengal were seen on the same stage. Apart from Bishop Canning, Mohun Bagan's former footballer Jose Ramirez Barretto, East Bengal's former footballer Douglas Da Silva, Kolkata Municipal Council Mayor (Sports) Debashis Kumar, Eastern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Kaushik Mitra, St. Thomas’ Boys’ School Principal Suman Biswas and others. Jaydeep Mukherjee was on stage from Artage Sports.
  
The technical director of this academy is Douglas. Attending the event, Barreto said, “I get nostalgic when I come to Kolkata. Thursday is Teacher's Day. But Douglas is a very good teacher. I have seen in the sports life, he guided the juniors in a great way. Young talent will surely emerge under his supervision.” Douglas is also overwhelmed by the responsibility. He said, “This is probably the best opportunity to work for football academy. I was able to return to Calcutta because of God's will."
  
Joydeep said at the event, “Wait for 3-4 months. Bengal will benefit from this academy.” Bishop Canning said, “This academy will not be limited to school students in the near future, but boys and girls  from poor families as well. CFL 2024: Emami East Bengal FC defeat Calcutta Police 3-0, storm into the Super Six as Group B toppers

 *Khabar kolkata News Bureau:* In their final Calcutta Football League Premier Division Group B match, Bino George's Emami East Bengal FC defeated Calcutta Police Club 3-0 at the East Bengal Ground this afternoon to storm into the Super Six round as Group toppers. 
  

  
It took the Red & Golds only five minutes to break the deadlock as Bathala Sunil leapt up inside the opposition box and nodded in Hira Mondal's long free-kick. 
  

  
Bino George's side doubled their lead in the 35th minute via Tanmay Das who unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the box. 
  

  
Emami East Bengal's goalkeeper and captain, Aditya Patra pulled off a couple of crucial saves in the first half to keep Calcutta Police at bay. 
  

  
The Red & Golds continued pushing for the third goal, launching a series of attacks throughout the second half. They came close to scoring halfway through the second half when Kush Chhetry, who returned to competitive football after a long injury layoff, was brought down inside the opposition box. However, Jesin TK was unable to convert the resultant penalty as the scoreline remained 2-0 in favour of EEB. 
  

  
In the 88th minute, Sayan Banerjee outran a rival defender and charged into the box before finding the net with a deft touch to send EEB 3-0 up. Sayan was adjudged the Player of the Match. 
  

  
With the win, Emami East Bengal FC continued their unbeaten run and bagged 34 out of a possible 36 points in the CFL 2024 Premier Division Group B (12 matches, 11 wins and 1 draw). They have also scored the joint-most goals (35) and conceded the joint-least goals (4) with Bhawanipore FC at the end of the Group Stage.

कोलकाता की रेप पीड़िता के पिता का पुलिस पर गंभीर आरोप, बोले-हमें पैसे का ऑफर किया गया

कोलकाता के आरजी कर मेडिकल कॉलेज और अस्पताल में महिला डॉक्टर के साथ बलात्कार और हत्या के मामले विरोध प्रदर्शन लगातार जारी है।ट्रेनी डॉक्टर की रेप के बाद हत्या से घिरी ममता सरकार मंगलवार को विधानसभा में एंटी रेप बिल लेकर आई है। इस बिल में पॉक्सो, आईपीसी और भारतीय न्याय संहिता में रेप और सेक्सुअल क्राइम से संबंधित प्रावधानों में संशोधन करने का प्रावधान है। इस बीच मामले में एक सनसनीखेज खुलासा हुआ है। बुधवार को धरने पर बैठे जूनियर डॉक्टरों के साथ मीडिया से बात करते हुए पीड़िता के पिता ने कहा कि इस केस को खत्म करने के लिए पुलिस ने जल्दबाजी में शव का अंतिम संस्कार कर दिया था और उन्हें शांत रहने के लिए पुलिस ने रिश्वत की पेशकश की थी।

ट्रेनी डॉक्टर के मामला-पिता ने कहा कि वह आरजी कर मेडिकल कॉलेज और अस्पताल में हो रहे विरोध प्रदर्शन में शामिल हुए थे। उसी दौरान पुलिस ने कथित तौर पर जांच पूरी किए बगैर ही पैसे देकर मामले को बंद करने की कोशिश की। पीड़िता के पिता ने प्रदर्शनकारियों को संबोधित करते हुए  कहा, "पुलिस ने शुरू से ही मामले को दबाने की कोशिश की, हमें शव देखने की परमिशन नहीं दी गई और शव को पोस्टमार्टम के लिए ले जाने के दौरान पुलिस स्टेशन में हमें इंतजार करना पड़ा। बाद में जब शव हमें सौंपा गया, तो एक सीनियर पुलिस अधिकारी ने हमें पैसे देने की पेशकश की, जिसे हमने तुरंत अस्वीकार कर दिया।"

पीड़िता के माता-पिता ने बुधवार की रात जूनियर डॉक्टरों के साथ आरजी कर मेडिकल कॉलेज और अस्पताल में विरोध प्रदर्शन में भाग लिया और अपनी बेटी के लिए न्याय की मांग की। वहीं, कोलकाता में बुधवार शाम को नागरिकों ने एकजुटता दिखाते हुए शक्तिशाली प्रदर्शन किया। आरजी कर अस्पताल में महिला चिकित्सक से रेप और हत्या के विरोध में यहां के निवासियों ने रात 9 बजे से 10 बजे तक एक घंटे के लिए अपने घरों की लाइट बंद कर दीं और सड़कों पर कैंडल मार्च निकाला। रात ठीक 9 बजे विक्टोरिया मेमोरियल और राजभवन जैसे प्रमुख स्थल, शहर, उपनगर और जिलों के घर विरोध प्रदर्शन के हिस्से के रूप में अंधेरे में डूब गए।

ISL 2024-25 Media Day: “Trophies in the past don’t matter; you are only as good as your last game”, says NorthEast United FC head coach Juan Pedro Benali





KKNB: The Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 Media Day began in Kolkata with representatives from seven clubs, i.e. Mohun Bagan Super Giant, East Bengal FC, Mohammedan SC, Odisha FC, Jamshedpur FC, Punjab FC and NorthEast United FC previewing the upcoming season.

The event saw a blend of new and familiar faces, with Mohun Bagan's Jose Molina and Punjab FC's Panagiotis Dilmperis making their ISL debuts as head coaches, while veterans like Sergio Lobera, Khalid Jamil, Juan Pedro Benali, and Carles Cuadrat discussed their strategies for the campaign.

The discussions, however, began with the newly-promoted Mohammedan SC head coach Andrey Chernyshov expressing his pleasure at joining the ISL, with his captain Samad Ali Mallick underlining their ambitions to challenge for the playoffs straightaway.

“It’s a nice feeling to be a part of the ISL family. We did a great job last year by winning the I-League. I am thrilled about our supporters. They had been expecting this for many years. I can’t wait to get started with the league,” Chernyshov said.

The two other Kolkata heavyweights are on their desired track ahead of the coming ISL campaign. Whilst the Mariners embark on the coveted title defence, East Bengal FC are bolstered by solid reinforcements to their squad in the summer.

“It’s a process to prepare the team for the ISL. We have been working together for a month and there are still a few things to improve upon. We are confident in our players and the way we have trained until now,” Jose Molina said.

East Bengal FC tactician Cuadrat overlooked comparisons from their sluggish start last year to insist confidently that his team will hit the ground running from their opening fixture this time around.

“It’s a different season with different players, and hence I wouldn’t like to compare to the last campaign, because every team is in a different situation as they were last time around. We have the complete squad with us and we will have to be competitive from day one,” Cuadrat said.

 Lobera eyes ISL title with Odisha FC 

Odisha FC, who finished fourth last season, are basking on their storied run across multiple competitions in 2023-24 to produce similarly impressive outings this year too.

“It’s been six years in India for me now. We had an amazing season last year, finishing at the top of the group in the AFC Cup. We were close to winning the Super Cup and we reached the ISL semi-finals for the first time in the club’s history. It was an amazing run and we want to replicate that this year to put a smile on the faces of the fans,” Lobera said.



 Challengers for the playoffs spots 

The trio of Punjab FC, NorthEast United, and Jamshedpur FC had ignited an exciting late challenge for the playoffs last season, falling short at the final hurdle. Since then, the Highlanders have gone from strength to strength, winning the club’s first trophy with the Durand Cup last month.

“We are now starting to realise with what we did in the Durand Cup! But, now, we look forward to the ISL and there’s another story that’s waiting for us in the coming season. Trophies in the past don’t make you play better. You are only as good as your last game,” Benali mentioned.

Jamshedpur FC’s Khalid Jamil praised the ISL for bringing in new rules, such as the introduction of the concussion substitute, mandating an AFC Pro License holding (or equivalent) Indian assistant coach, amongst others. Considering that he is one of the two Indian head coaches in the ISL along with Thangboi Singto of Hyderabad FC, Jamil said, “These new rules will help in the development of Indian football. We shall study it in detail and see how they could help us benefit during the course of the season as well.”

For Punjab FC, they have a new coach at helm in Greek tactician Panagiotis Dilmperis. The team has made some smart acquisitions in the transfer window and Dimperis expressed satisfaction at the same, whereas skipper Luka Majcen stressed upon the importance of a positive start.

“I am really lucky with all the players we have got in the Punjab FC roster. They are all great personalities and our aim is to achieve greater heights than we did last year,” Dimperis said.

  খবর কলকাতা: ভারতের কৃতি হকি খেলোয়াড় মেজর ধ্যান চাঁদের ১১৯ তম জন্ম বার্ষিকী উপলক্ষ্যে প্রতি বছরের মতো হকি বেঙ্গল এ বছরেও কলকাতার আশুতোষ বার্থ সেন্টিনারি হলে এক বর্ণাঢ্য অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করেছিল। অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন রাজ্যের দমকল দফতরের ভারপ্রাপ্ত মন্ত্রী সুজিত বসু, প্রাক্তন অলিম্পিয়ন তথা প্রাক্তন ভারতীয় হকি অধিনায়ক গুরবক্স সিং , ইস্টবেঙ্গল ক্লাবের কর্মকর্তা দেবব্রত সরকার, মোহনবাগান ক্লাবের সচিব দেবাশীষ দত্ত, স্বপন বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় সহ বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিবর্গরা। এই দিন হকি বেঙ্গলের তরফ থেকে প্রয়াত যশবন্ত সিং রাজপুতকে তাঁর ভারতীয় হকি এবং অলিম্পিকে অসামান্য কৃতিত্বের জন্য ২০২৪ এর 'মেজর ধ্যান চাঁদ জীবন কৃতী সম্মান' স্মারক প্রদান করা হয়।

CPL Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. Celebrates 7th Foundation Day with Fusion of Science and Culture.
 

The 7th Foundation Day of CPL Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd., a forerunner in laboratory diagnostics, was celebrated with much fanfare on Sunday, August 18th, 2024, at the Utsav Mancha Auditorium in Kankurgachi, Kolkata. It is indeed a turning point in the company's journey, reflecting its doctrine of excellence in healthcare with an eclectic mix of scientific sessions and vibrant cultural performances.
The "Marking Milestones of Excellence" program was inaugurated at 2:30 PM with a scintillating cultural dance performance by Ms. Deeksha Gupta, which set the very tone of celebrations for the day. Dr Tarun Roy, MD, DNB, Consultant Pathologist, CPL Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. welcomed the audience, including doctors and business associates, as he went down memory lane on the company's seven-year journey and its achievements.

After the welcome address, Dr M.M. Ghatak, MD, Founder and Director of the Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Kolkata, delivered the keynote speech. He praised CPL Diagnostics for its contribution to the health sector, mainly diagnostic services, and called for maintaining high standards in the industry.

Dr. Koushik Ray, PhD (Marketing), Founder & Director of CPL Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd., updated the audience about the company's achievements and its future goals by reiterating the mission of CPL Diagnostics: 'one million precise, real-time diagnostic reports in 2024', while projecting a vision to lead this industry by integration with advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics etc.

The following scientific sessions were quite informative and interesting. Dr Anupam Basu, Professor of Molecular Biology and Human Genetics Laboratory, Burdwan University, and Former Visiting Fellow of the Department of Bioinformatics, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, and Postdoctoral fellow of the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology, School of Medicine, University of New Mexico, USA, a leading scientist, delivered his lecture on the hemoglobinopathy and Next-Generation Sequencing. 

Besides the scientific deliberations, a cultural function, "Rituranga," was conceptualised as an amalgamation of music and dance items that celebrated the mosaic of richness and diversity in Indian culture. Indeed, this provided a perfect counterbalance to the scientific rigour of the day and once more reiterated CPL Diagnostics' commitment to scientific excellence and community engagement in equal measure.

The program concluded with refreshments, which provided a platform for networking and assimilation of the day's deliberations and performances. CPL Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. is deeply grateful to all delegates who spared their valuable time to participate in the Foundation Day celebrations.

যুবভারতীতে আজ আইএসএল শুরু হচ্ছে মোহনবাগান ও মুম্বইয়ের দ্বৈরথ দিয়েই

খবর কলকাতা: কলকাতার বিবেকানন্দ যুবভারতীতে ক্রীড়াঙ্গনে আজ আইএসএল শুরু হচ্ছে মোহনবাগান ও মুম্বইয়ের দ্বৈরথ দিয়েই।গত মরসুমে ঘরের মাঠে মুম্বই সিটি এফসি-কে হারিয়েই আইএসএলের লিগ-শিল্ড জিতেছিল মোহনবাগান। আবার  মুম্বই প্রতিশোধ নেয় মোহনবাগানকে হারিয়ে আইএসএলের কাপ জিতে।
তবে এই মরসুমে গত মরসুমের থেকে দুই দলেই অনেক পরিবর্তন হয়েছে। হর্হে পেরেরা দিয়াস-সহ একাধিক ফুটবলার দল বদল করে যোগ দিয়েছে বেঙ্গালুরুতে। অন্য দিকে, মুম্বই থেকে মোহনবাগানে এসেছেন আপুইয়া। মোহনবাগানও নতুন ভাবে শুরু করছে কোচ হোসে মোলিনার অধীনে। আনোয়ার আলিকে হারানো ছাড়া তাদের দলে অবশ্য খুব বেশি বদল হয়নি। বৃহস্পতিবার এক সাংবাদিক সম্মেলনে মোলিনা অবশ্য সাফ জানালেন, "গত মরসুমে কী হয়েছিল তা তাঁর মাথায় নেই।"বৃহস্পতিবার মোহনবাগান তাঁবুতে সাংবাদিক বৈঠকে তিনি বলেন, “গত বারের বেশ কিছু ম্যাচ দেখেছি ঠিকই। কিন্তু এটা নতুন মরসুম। নতুন অধ্যায় শুরু হতে চলেছে। নতুন ফুটবলারেরাও এসেছে। আমি নিজেও ছিলাম না গতবার। তাই পরিস্থিতি সম্পূর্ণ আলাদা। গত বার কী হয়েছে তা মাথাতেই রাখছি না।”
তবে মোহনবাগান-মুম্বই ম্যাচ গত কয়েক বছর ধরেই অন্য মাত্রা পেয়েছে। দু’দলেই তারকা ফুটবলার ভর্তি।ডুরান্ড কাপের ফাইনালে উঠলেও ট্রফি জিততে পারেনি মোহনবাগান। তবে ৬’টি ম্যাচ খেলতে পেরেছে। যদিও তাতে সঠিক প্রস্তুতি হয়েছে এমনটা মানতে রাজি নন মোলিনা। প্রস্তুতির খামতির কথা স্পেনীয় কোচ মেনে নিয়েছেন।মোলিনার কথায়, “দলের ফুটবলারেরা যে ভাবে পরিশ্রম করেছে তাতে আমি খুশি। ওরা প্রত্যেকে নিজেদের দায়িত্ব পালন করেছে। তবে এখনও অনেক উন্নতি করতে হবে। ডুরান্ড কাপ প্রস্তুতির সঠিক মঞ্চ নয়। মাত্র ৬’সপ্তাহ কোনও দলকে ফিটনেস বা বোঝাপড়ার দিক থেকে সেরা পর্যায়ে তুলে আনা যায় না। আরও সময় দরকার।এখন যাবতীয় নজর আইএসএলে।”
মোলিনার সঙ্গে এদিন সাংবাদিক বৈঠকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন আপুইয়া, যিনি এবারই মুম্বই থেকে মোহনবাগানে এসেছেন। আপুইয়া বললেন, “এত দিন মুম্বইয়ের হয়ে খেলেছি। এবার ওদের বিরুদ্ধে খেলব ভেবে উত্তেজনা হচ্ছে। মোহনবাগানের হয়ে খেলা আমার স্বপ্ন ছিল। মুম্বই ছেড়ে আসলেও ওদের প্রতি কোনও রাগ নেই।”

Bishop Canning-Artage Sports Academy began with a function at St. Thomas’ Boys’ School


 
 
  Khabar kolkata:The journey of Bishop Canning-Artage Sports Academy began with a function at St. Thomas’ Boys’ School, Kidderpore on Thursday. On that occasion, two former footballers of Mohun Bagan and East Bengal were seen on the same stage. Apart from Bishop Canning, Mohun Bagan's former footballer Jose Ramirez Barretto, East Bengal's former footballer Douglas Da Silva, Kolkata Municipal Council Mayor (Sports) Debashis Kumar, Eastern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Kaushik Mitra, St. Thomas’ Boys’ School Principal Suman Biswas and others. Jaydeep Mukherjee was on stage from Artage Sports.
  
The technical director of this academy is Douglas. Attending the event, Barreto said, “I get nostalgic when I come to Kolkata. Thursday is Teacher's Day. But Douglas is a very good teacher. I have seen in the sports life, he guided the juniors in a great way. Young talent will surely emerge under his supervision.” Douglas is also overwhelmed by the responsibility. He said, “This is probably the best opportunity to work for football academy. I was able to return to Calcutta because of God's will."
  
Joydeep said at the event, “Wait for 3-4 months. Bengal will benefit from this academy.” Bishop Canning said, “This academy will not be limited to school students in the near future, but boys and girls  from poor families as well. We will select emerging young talents from not only city but rural and bring them to this academy.” After the opening ceremony, the guests along with Barreto and Douglas met with the students.

CFL 2024: Emami East Bengal FC defeat Calcutta Police 3-0, storm into the Super Six as Group B toppers

 *Khabar kolkata News Bureau:* In their final Calcutta Football League Premier Division Group B match, Bino George's Emami East Bengal FC defeated Calcutta Police Club 3-0 at the East Bengal Ground this afternoon to storm into the Super Six round as Group toppers. 
  

  
It took the Red & Golds only five minutes to break the deadlock as Bathala Sunil leapt up inside the opposition box and nodded in Hira Mondal's long free-kick. 
  

  
Bino George's side doubled their lead in the 35th minute via Tanmay Das who unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the box. 
  

  
Emami East Bengal's goalkeeper and captain, Aditya Patra pulled off a couple of crucial saves in the first half to keep Calcutta Police at bay. 
  

  
The Red & Golds continued pushing for the third goal, launching a series of attacks throughout the second half. They came close to scoring halfway through the second half when Kush Chhetry, who returned to competitive football after a long injury layoff, was brought down inside the opposition box. However, Jesin TK was unable to convert the resultant penalty as the scoreline remained 2-0 in favour of EEB. 
  

  
In the 88th minute, Sayan Banerjee outran a rival defender and charged into the box before finding the net with a deft touch to send EEB 3-0 up. Sayan was adjudged the Player of the Match. 
  

  
With the win, Emami East Bengal FC continued their unbeaten run and bagged 34 out of a possible 36 points in the CFL 2024 Premier Division Group B (12 matches, 11 wins and 1 draw). They have also scored the joint-most goals (35) and conceded the joint-least goals (4) with Bhawanipore FC at the end of the Group Stage. 
  

  
Emami East Bengal FC have also registered 8 cleansheets during the course of the Group Stage.

कोलकाता की रेप पीड़िता के पिता का पुलिस पर गंभीर आरोप, बोले-हमें पैसे का ऑफर किया गया

कोलकाता के आरजी कर मेडिकल कॉलेज और अस्पताल में महिला डॉक्टर के साथ बलात्कार और हत्या के मामले विरोध प्रदर्शन लगातार जारी है।ट्रेनी डॉक्टर की रेप के बाद हत्या से घिरी ममता सरकार मंगलवार को विधानसभा में एंटी रेप बिल लेकर आई है। इस बिल में पॉक्सो, आईपीसी और भारतीय न्याय संहिता में रेप और सेक्सुअल क्राइम से संबंधित प्रावधानों में संशोधन करने का प्रावधान है। इस बीच मामले में एक सनसनीखेज खुलासा हुआ है। बुधवार को धरने पर बैठे जूनियर डॉक्टरों के साथ मीडिया से बात करते हुए पीड़िता के पिता ने कहा कि इस केस को खत्म करने के लिए पुलिस ने जल्दबाजी में शव का अंतिम संस्कार कर दिया था और उन्हें शांत रहने के लिए पुलिस ने रिश्वत की पेशकश की थी।

ट्रेनी डॉक्टर के मामला-पिता ने कहा कि वह आरजी कर मेडिकल कॉलेज और अस्पताल में हो रहे विरोध प्रदर्शन में शामिल हुए थे। उसी दौरान पुलिस ने कथित तौर पर जांच पूरी किए बगैर ही पैसे देकर मामले को बंद करने की कोशिश की। पीड़िता के पिता ने प्रदर्शनकारियों को संबोधित करते हुए  कहा, "पुलिस ने शुरू से ही मामले को दबाने की कोशिश की, हमें शव देखने की परमिशन नहीं दी गई और शव को पोस्टमार्टम के लिए ले जाने के दौरान पुलिस स्टेशन में हमें इंतजार करना पड़ा। बाद में जब शव हमें सौंपा गया, तो एक सीनियर पुलिस अधिकारी ने हमें पैसे देने की पेशकश की, जिसे हमने तुरंत अस्वीकार कर दिया।"

पीड़िता के माता-पिता ने बुधवार की रात जूनियर डॉक्टरों के साथ आरजी कर मेडिकल कॉलेज और अस्पताल में विरोध प्रदर्शन में भाग लिया और अपनी बेटी के लिए न्याय की मांग की। वहीं, कोलकाता में बुधवार शाम को नागरिकों ने एकजुटता दिखाते हुए शक्तिशाली प्रदर्शन किया। आरजी कर अस्पताल में महिला चिकित्सक से रेप और हत्या के विरोध में यहां के निवासियों ने रात 9 बजे से 10 बजे तक एक घंटे के लिए अपने घरों की लाइट बंद कर दीं और सड़कों पर कैंडल मार्च निकाला। रात ठीक 9 बजे विक्टोरिया मेमोरियल और राजभवन जैसे प्रमुख स्थल, शहर, उपनगर और जिलों के घर विरोध प्रदर्शन के हिस्से के रूप में अंधेरे में डूब गए।

ISL 2024-25 Media Day: “Trophies in the past don’t matter; you are only as good as your last game”, says NorthEast United FC head coach Juan Pedro Benali





KKNB: The Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 Media Day began in Kolkata with representatives from seven clubs, i.e. Mohun Bagan Super Giant, East Bengal FC, Mohammedan SC, Odisha FC, Jamshedpur FC, Punjab FC and NorthEast United FC previewing the upcoming season.

The event saw a blend of new and familiar faces, with Mohun Bagan's Jose Molina and Punjab FC's Panagiotis Dilmperis making their ISL debuts as head coaches, while veterans like Sergio Lobera, Khalid Jamil, Juan Pedro Benali, and Carles Cuadrat discussed their strategies for the campaign.

The discussions, however, began with the newly-promoted Mohammedan SC head coach Andrey Chernyshov expressing his pleasure at joining the ISL, with his captain Samad Ali Mallick underlining their ambitions to challenge for the playoffs straightaway.

“It’s a nice feeling to be a part of the ISL family. We did a great job last year by winning the I-League. I am thrilled about our supporters. They had been expecting this for many years. I can’t wait to get started with the league,” Chernyshov said.

The two other Kolkata heavyweights are on their desired track ahead of the coming ISL campaign. Whilst the Mariners embark on the coveted title defence, East Bengal FC are bolstered by solid reinforcements to their squad in the summer.

“It’s a process to prepare the team for the ISL. We have been working together for a month and there are still a few things to improve upon. We are confident in our players and the way we have trained until now,” Jose Molina said.

East Bengal FC tactician Cuadrat overlooked comparisons from their sluggish start last year to insist confidently that his team will hit the ground running from their opening fixture this time around.

“It’s a different season with different players, and hence I wouldn’t like to compare to the last campaign, because every team is in a different situation as they were last time around. We have the complete squad with us and we will have to be competitive from day one,” Cuadrat said.

 Lobera eyes ISL title with Odisha FC 

Odisha FC, who finished fourth last season, are basking on their storied run across multiple competitions in 2023-24 to produce similarly impressive outings this year too.

“It’s been six years in India for me now. We had an amazing season last year, finishing at the top of the group in the AFC Cup. We were close to winning the Super Cup and we reached the ISL semi-finals for the first time in the club’s history. It was an amazing run and we want to replicate that this year to put a smile on the faces of the fans,” Lobera said.



 Challengers for the playoffs spots 

The trio of Punjab FC, NorthEast United, and Jamshedpur FC had ignited an exciting late challenge for the playoffs last season, falling short at the final hurdle. Since then, the Highlanders have gone from strength to strength, winning the club’s first trophy with the Durand Cup last month.

“We are now starting to realise with what we did in the Durand Cup! But, now, we look forward to the ISL and there’s another story that’s waiting for us in the coming season. Trophies in the past don’t make you play better. You are only as good as your last game,” Benali mentioned.

Jamshedpur FC’s Khalid Jamil praised the ISL for bringing in new rules, such as the introduction of the concussion substitute, mandating an AFC Pro License holding (or equivalent) Indian assistant coach, amongst others. Considering that he is one of the two Indian head coaches in the ISL along with Thangboi Singto of Hyderabad FC, Jamil said, “These new rules will help in the development of Indian football. We shall study it in detail and see how they could help us benefit during the course of the season as well.”

For Punjab FC, they have a new coach at helm in Greek tactician Panagiotis Dilmperis. The team has made some smart acquisitions in the transfer window and Dimperis expressed satisfaction at the same, whereas skipper Luka Majcen stressed upon the importance of a positive start.

“I am really lucky with all the players we have got in the Punjab FC roster. They are all great personalities and our aim is to achieve greater heights than we did last year,” Dimperis said.

The 7th Foundation Day of CPL Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd., a forerunner in laboratory diagnostics, was celebrated with much fanfare on Sunday, August 18th, 2024, at the Utsav Mancha Auditorium in Kankurgachi, Kolkata. It is indeed a turning point in the company's journey, reflecting its doctrine of excellence in healthcare with an eclectic mix of scientific sessions and vibrant cultural performances.
The "Marking Milestones of Excellence" program was inaugurated at 2:30 PM with a scintillating cultural dance performance by Ms. Deeksha Gupta, which set the very tone of celebrations for the day. Dr Tarun Roy, MD, DNB, Consultant Pathologist, CPL Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. welcomed the audience, including doctors and business associates, as he went down memory lane on the company's seven-year journey and its achievements.

After the welcome address, Dr M.M. Ghatak, MD, Founder and Director of the Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Kolkata, delivered the keynote speech. He praised CPL Diagnostics for its contribution to the health sector, mainly diagnostic services, and called for maintaining high standards in the industry.

Dr. Koushik Ray, PhD (Marketing), Founder & Director of CPL Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd., updated the audience about the company's achievements and its future goals by reiterating the mission of CPL Diagnostics: 'one million precise, real-time diagnostic reports in 2024', while projecting a vision to lead this industry by integration with advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics etc.

The following scientific sessions were quite informative and interesting. Dr Anupam Basu, Professor of Molecular Biology and Human Genetics Laboratory, Burdwan University, and Former Visiting Fellow of the Department of Bioinformatics, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, and Postdoctoral fellow of the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology, School of Medicine, University of New Mexico, USA, a leading scientist, delivered his lecture on the hemoglobinopathy and Next-Generation Sequencing. 

Besides the scientific deliberations, a cultural function, "Rituranga," was conceptualised as an amalgamation of music and dance items that celebrated the mosaic of richness and diversity in Indian culture. Indeed, this provided a perfect counterbalance to the scientific rigour of the day and once more reiterated CPL Diagnostics' commitment to scientific excellence and community engagement in equal measure.

The program concluded with refreshments, which provided a platform for networking and assimilation of the day's deliberations and performances. CPL Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. is deeply grateful to all delegates who spared their valuable time to participate in the Foundation Day celebrations.
