लखनऊ, 28 अक्टूबर। उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने विकसित भारत-2047 के लक्ष्य को हासिल करने के लिए स्वच्छ, सतत और किफायती ऊर्जा व्यवस्था विकसित करने की प्रतिबद्धता दोहराई है। नगर विकास एवं ऊर्जा मंत्री ए.के. शर्मा ने कहा कि देश के भविष्य की ऊर्जा जरूरतों को पूरा करने और विकास की गति बनाए रखने में ऊर्जा क्षेत्र की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका होगी। इसके लिए नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा का विस्तार, आधुनिक तकनीक का इस्तेमाल और उपभोक्ताओं को भरोसेमंद बिजली उपलब्ध कराना जरूरी है।
  
ऊर्जा मंत्री बुधवार को ऑब्जर्वर रिसर्च फाउंडेशन (ओआरएफ) की ओर से ‘Powering Viksit Bharat 2047: Subnational Pathways for India's Energy Transition’ विषय पर आयोजित बैठक में वर्चुअल माध्यम से शामिल हुए। बैठक में स्वच्छ ऊर्जा को बढ़ावा देने, विद्युत आपूर्ति को विश्वसनीय एवं किफायती बनाने, बिजली ग्रिड के आधुनिकीकरण और ऊर्जा क्षेत्र में निवेश की संभावनाओं पर चर्चा की गई।

मंत्री ए.के. शर्मा ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के विकसित भारत-2047 के विजन को साकार करने में ऊर्जा क्षेत्र की अहम भागीदारी है। उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार स्वच्छ एवं टिकाऊ ऊर्जा संसाधनों को बढ़ावा देने के साथ प्रदेशवासियों को सुलभ और विश्वसनीय बिजली उपलब्ध कराने के लिए प्रयासरत है।
  
उन्होंने कहा कि भविष्य की बढ़ती ऊर्जा मांग को पूरा करने के लिए सौर ऊर्जा जैसे नवीकरणीय स्रोतों का विस्तार करना होगा। इसके साथ ही विद्युत वितरण व्यवस्था को मजबूत बनाने, आधुनिक तकनीक अपनाने और उपलब्ध ऊर्जा संसाधनों का बेहतर उपयोग करने की जरूरत है। ऊर्जा क्षेत्र में निवेश को प्रोत्साहित करके प्रदेश की विद्युत व्यवस्था को अधिक सक्षम और आधुनिक बनाया जा सकता है।
  
- राज्यों के बीच समन्वय से ऊर्जा संक्रमण को मिलेगी गति
  
ऊर्जा मंत्री ने कहा कि देश में ऊर्जा संक्रमण की प्रक्रिया को प्रभावी बनाने के लिए राज्यों के बीच बेहतर समन्वय और सफल प्रयोगों का आदान-प्रदान जरूरी है। प्रत्येक राज्य की ऊर्जा संबंधी जरूरतों और परिस्थितियों के अनुरूप नीतियां तैयार करने से स्वच्छ ऊर्जा के विकास को गति मिल सकती है।
  
उन्होंने कहा कि उत्तर प्रदेश स्वच्छ, सतत और किफायती ऊर्जा व्यवस्था के निर्माण के जरिए राष्ट्रीय विकास लक्ष्यों में योगदान देने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा के विस्तार, आधुनिक विद्युत ढांचे और भरोसेमंद आपूर्ति व्यवस्था पर केंद्रित प्रयास प्रदेश को भविष्य की ऊर्जा चुनौतियों के लिए तैयार करने में महत्वपूर्ण साबित होंगे।

*गोण्डा, 15 सितंबर 2026*  - प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी जी के 25 वर्षों के निरंतर सेवा काल की जनकल्याणकारी उपलब्धियों को जन-जन तक पहुंचाने तथा प्रत्येक नागरिक को विकसित भारत-2047 के सामूहिक राष्ट्रीय संकल्प से जोड़ने के उद्देश्य से जनपद में 17 सितंबर से 17 अक्टूबर 2026 तक *‘सेवा संकल्प अभियान’* आयोजित किया जाएगा। अभियान जनपद, विकासखंड एवं ग्राम पंचायत स्तर पर व्यापक जनभागीदारी के साथ संचालित होगा। जिलाधिकारी प्रियंका निरंजन ने अभियान के सफल आयोजन के लिए संबंधित अधिकारियों को कार्यक्रमवार जिम्मेदारियां सौंपते हुए समयबद्ध तैयारियां एवं प्रभावी मॉनीटरिंग सुनिश्चित करने के निर्देश दिए हैं।

अभियान की शुरुआत 17 सितंबर को ‘सेवा दिवस-आशीर्वाद का दीया’ कार्यक्रम से होगी। ग्राम पंचायत, वार्ड एवं मोहल्ला स्तर पर विभिन्न योजनाओं के लाभार्थियों की सूची तैयार की जाएगी। चिकित्सालयों में फल वितरण, रक्तदान शिविर, विश्वकर्मा जयंती पर टूलकिट वितरण तथा दिव्यांगजन कल्याण कार्यक्रम होंगे। शाम सात बजे लाभार्थी परिवारों सहित प्रमुख सार्वजनिक स्थलों एवं सरकारी भवनों पर दीप प्रज्ज्वलित किए जाएंगे।
  

  
17 सितंबर से 7 अक्टूबर तक ‘मेरे सपनों का भारत’ के तहत विद्यालयों में चित्रकला, भाषण एवं प्रश्नोत्तरी प्रतियोगिताएं आयोजित होंगी। उच्च शिक्षण संस्थानों में युवा संवाद तथा ‘विकसित भारत-विकसित उत्तर प्रदेश’ विषय पर वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिताएं भी होंगी।
  

  
*विकास कार्यों का बनेगा डिजिटल डाटा बैंक*
  

  
‘सेवा की कहानी-डिजिटल एवं रील अभियान’ के तहत केंद्र एवं राज्य सरकार के विकास कार्यों तथा जनकल्याणकारी योजनाओं का विधानसभा, विकासखंड एवं ग्राम पंचायतवार विवरण तैयार किया जाएगा। लाभार्थियों की अद्यतन सूची के साथ विकास कार्यों के ‘पहले और बाद’ के फोटो, वीडियो एवं ड्रोन फुटेज का स्थायी डिजिटल डाटा बैंक तैयार होगा। डिजिटल इन्फ्लुएंसर्स, पॉडकास्टर्स एवं ब्लॉगर्स को विकास परियोजनाओं का भ्रमण कराकर सक्सेस स्टोरी एवं वास्तविक बदलाव पर आधारित कंटेंट तैयार कराया जाएगा।

7 अक्टूबर को ‘सेवा ज्योति कलश यात्रा-विकसित भारत का संकल्प’ आयोजित होगी। विभिन्न क्षेत्रों से पैदल, साइकिल एवं बाइक रैलियां प्रमुख स्थल तक पहुंचेंगी। एलईडी स्क्रीन पर प्रधानमंत्री के संबोधन का सजीव प्रसारण तथा विकसित भारत-2047 का सामूहिक संकल्प लिया जाएगा।
  

  
‘सेवा मेरा योगदान’ के तहत स्वच्छता, वृक्षारोपण, रक्तदान, स्वास्थ्य शिविर, योग, शिक्षा सहयोग, करियर काउंसलिंग, अंगदान संकल्प, नशामुक्ति, फिट इंडिया, मतदाता जागरूकता, वोकल फॉर लोकल, गौशाला सेवा, सैनिक सम्मान, दिव्यांगजन सहयोग, डिजिटल साक्षरता एवं साइबर सुरक्षा सहित 25 सेवा गतिविधियों में जनभागीदारी कराई जाएगी। नागरिकों को कम से कम 25 मिनट श्रमदान कर फोटो अथवा वीडियो My Bharat Portal पर अपलोड करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जाएगा।

‘सेवा सेतु अभियान-सरकार आपके द्वार’ के तहत प्रत्येक विकासखंड में सात दिवसीय बहुउद्देशीय सेवा शिविर लगाए जाएंगे। 26 सितंबर से 2 अक्टूबर तक नौ तथा 2 से 8 अक्टूबर तक सात विकासखंडों में शिविर आयोजित होंगे। शिविरों में स्वास्थ्य मेलों के साथ विभिन्न सरकारी योजनाओं की जानकारी, आवेदन एवं सत्यापन की सुविधा उपलब्ध कराई जाएगी तथा पात्र नागरिकों को योजनाओं का लाभ दिलाकर 100 प्रतिशत सैचुरेशन का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।
  

  
*मानव रंगोली और इनोवेशन चैलेंज से जुड़ेगा युवा वर्ग*
  

  
‘सेवा के रंग-राष्ट्र के संग’ कार्यक्रम में प्रमुख स्थलों पर 108 मीटर व्यास का ‘भारत मंडल’ एवं ह्यूमन रंगोली तैयार की जाएगी। इसमें जनकल्याणकारी योजनाओं, राष्ट्रीय प्रतीकों और विकसित भारत-2047 की थीम प्रदर्शित होगी। मेडिकल कॉलेज, इंजीनियरिंग कॉलेज, आईटीआई एवं पॉलीटेक्निक संस्थानों में ‘सेवा फर्स्ट-इनोवेशन चैलेंज’ के तहत प्रदर्शनी, लाइव डेमो, युवा संवाद एवं विशेषज्ञ सत्र होंगे।
  

  
*17 अक्टूबर को होगा सुशासन सेवा संवाद*
  

  
अभियान का समापन 17 अक्टूबर को ‘सुशासन सेवा संवाद’ के साथ होगा। इसमें अभिनंदन प्रस्ताव, सामूहिक वंदे मातरम् गान एवं विकसित भारत-2047 का संकल्प लिया जाएगा। अभियान के दौरान ग्राम चौपालों के माध्यम से योजनाओं की पहुंच, जनता से फीडबैक, प्रमुख स्थलों पर लेजर शो तथा तीर्थ स्थलों पर महायज्ञ एवं प्रार्थना सभाएं भी आयोजित होंगी। 25 सितंबर को डिजिटल लाइब्रेरी का लोकार्पण प्रस्तावित है।

India stands at the threshold of a demographic transformation that will redefine its economic and social future. For decades, our growth story has been powered by the demographic dividend of a young population. That advantage fuelled entrepreneurship, investment, and innovation. Today, however, a new opportunity is emerging—one that demands an equally ambitious vision.
The future of India's prosperity will not be shaped by youth alone. It will also depend on how successfully we enable millions of older Indians to live healthier, longer, more productive, and financially secure lives.

This is the foundation of the Longevity Economy.

Unlike the traditional view of ageing as a period of dependency, the longevity economy recognises longer lives as an economic asset. It encompasses the products, services, technologies, policies, and infrastructure that enable people to remain healthy, independent, socially connected, and economically active throughout later life. It is about moving beyond care to build an ecosystem that empowers people to age with dignity, purpose, and opportunity.

The scale of this opportunity is significant. According to the UNFPA India Ageing Report 2023, India had approximately 149 million people aged 60 years and above in 2022. By 2050, that number is projected to reach 347 million, representing 20.8% of the population. The population aged 80 years and above is expected to grow by around 279% during the same period. These figures represent one of the most profound demographic shifts in India's history.

The challenge, however, is not simply that people are living longer. It is ensuring they live better. Extending healthspan—the years spent in good physical, mental, and social health—is as important as extending lifespan. Healthier ageing reduces pressure on healthcare systems while enabling people to remain active, independent, and engaged for longer.

This transformation extends far beyond healthcare. It creates opportunities across preventive healthcare, digital health, AgeTech, insurance, retirement planning, accessible housing, mobility, wellness, nutrition, lifelong learning, travel, home modifications, and community-based services. Advances in artificial intelligence, wearable devices, remote monitoring, and assistive technologies are also reshaping how people age safely and independently.

A growing number of senior citizens today possess accumulated savings, home ownership, professional expertise, and decades of experience. They are not merely recipients of care—they are consumers, mentors, entrepreneurs, investors, volunteers, and active contributors to society. Businesses that understand their evolving aspirations will be better positioned to serve one of India's fastest-growing consumer segments.

Recognising this opportunity, NITI Aayog has highlighted the rapid emergence of India's silver economy and the opportunities it presents across healthcare, financial services, housing, technology, wellness, and home-based care. The report also notes that healthcare accounts for nearly 31% of senior citizens' expenditure, underscoring the growing demand for preventive healthcare, rehabilitation, home healthcare, and technology-enabled services.

The longevity economy is also poised to become a major employment generator. As India's population ages, demand will grow for caregivers, geriatric specialists, nurses, physiotherapists, rehabilitation professionals, psychologists, nutritionists, accessibility consultants, financial advisers, and AgeTech innovators. Building this ecosystem can create millions of skilled jobs while improving quality of life and reducing pressure on families.

The Economic Survey 2023–24 introduces the concept of the Silver Dividend, noting that enabling people aged 60–69 to remain economically active could increase GDP across Asian economies by an average of 1.5%. It recommends greater investment in lifelong learning, care infrastructure, workforce development, and age-friendly employment, recognising healthy ageing as both a social and economic priority.

Around the world, countries are already adapting to longer lives. Japan has pioneered AgeTech and robotics for independent living. Germany has strengthened long-term care systems, while Singapore has invested in age-friendly communities and ageing-in-place programmes. Their experience demonstrates that demographic change can become a catalyst for innovation when supported by forward-looking policy and private-sector investment.

India must now develop its own model. Urbanisation, migration, smaller families, and longer life expectancy have changed traditional caregiving patterns. Millions of older parents now live independently while their children pursue careers elsewhere. Meeting their evolving needs will require an integrated ecosystem that combines family support, technology, professional services, and community engagement.

The Government of India has taken encouraging steps through initiatives such as the Senior Ageing Growth Engine (SAGE), which supports startups developing solutions for older adults, alongside programmes that encourage healthy ageing and continued participation in society. Together, these initiatives signal an important shift—from treating ageing primarily as a welfare concern to recognising it as a driver of innovation and economic opportunity.

Yet government action alone will not be enough. Building a longevity economy requires collaboration between policymakers, entrepreneurs, healthcare providers, investors, insurers, technology companies, financial institutions, urban planners, academia, and civil society. Age-friendly infrastructure, preventive healthcare, digital inclusion, lifelong learning, and community-based support must become central to India's development agenda.

As India progresses towards Viksit Bharat 2047, success will not be measured solely by economic growth. It will also be measured by how effectively we enable people of every generation to live healthier, safer, more independent, and financially secure lives.

The question is no longer whether India will become an ageing society—it already is. The real challenge is whether we are prepared to transform longevity into a national advantage.

Building the longevity economy is not simply about caring for older citizens. It is about creating a future where longer lives fuel innovation, strengthen industries, generate employment, and enhance social well-being. India has the scale, entrepreneurial talent, and policy momentum to lead this transformation. If we act with vision today, longevity will become not a demographic challenge, but one of India's greatest economic opportunities.

Soummodeep Dey Appointed National Coordinator of Janata Congress Party, Set to Lead Youth Mobilisation Drive


Jamshedpur/New Delhi: In a move that signals a fresh push for youth-driven politics, the Janata Congress Party (JCP) has elevated Soummodeep Dey, a Jamshedpur-based social worker and youth activist, to the position of National Coordinator. The appointment, confirmed by the party's central leadership, marks a significant step up from his earlier role as the party's National Youth Coordinator and places him at the heart of JCP's organisational expansion across the country.Dey's rise within the party has been steady. Barely months after taking charge of the youth wing under the "People First, Nation First, India First" banner, he has now been handed a broader mandate that goes beyond youth mobilisation to include strengthening the party's central committee structure. Party insiders say the decision reflects growing confidence in his ability to build grassroots networks and translate organisational directives into on-ground action.
"This is not just a position, it is a responsibility to build the organisation across the country and give the voice of the youth a new direction," Dey said following the announcement. He added that his immediate priorities would be organisational expansion, deeper youth participation, and highlighting issues that directly affect ordinary citizens.
A Background Rooted in Service
Dey's political journey did not begin with the Janata Congress Party. Hailing from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, he first built a public profile through the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Seva Samiti, a community welfare organisation he founded that has been active in blood donation drives, cleanliness campaigns, disaster relief, and support for the underprivileged. The organisation's consistent work in the region earned Dey the Subhash Chandra Bose Icon Award 2025, a recognition of his contribution to social welfare and community development.
Before joining JCP, Dey was also associated with the National Students' Union of India, where he served as State Vice-Chairman of the Social Media Committee for Odisha. During his tenure, he was part of the coordination team for the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Odisha and held responsibilities within the University President NSUI campus committee, giving him early exposure to large-scale organisational coordination and student politics.
On the academic front, Dey holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA specialising in Human Resources and Marketing, a combination that party colleagues say has shaped his structured approach to organisational planning.
Party's Push for Youth Leadership
The Janata Congress Party, which has been steadily expanding its footprint, has framed the appointment as part of a larger strategy to bring younger voices into decision-making roles ahead of upcoming state elections, including in Manipur and Goa. The party has also been vocal on regional and cross-border issues, recently expressing solidarity with flood and landslide-affected communities in Nepal, an initiative in which Dey featured prominently as the face of the party's outreach.
Party leadership, in its formal note of congratulations, said it appreciated Dey's trust, passion, and dedication toward youth and the nation, adding that his leadership was expected to help empower young people and position them at the forefront of nation-building efforts.
What Comes Next
With the appointment now official, attention turns to how quickly Dey can translate his organisational experience into visible results for JCP. His task list includes expanding the party's presence in states where it currently has limited structure, strengthening the central committee, and ensuring that youth engagement extends beyond social media messaging into active ground mobilisation.
For a party still building its national identity, the choice of a coordinator with a background in both grassroots social work and structured student politics appears deliberate. मऊ। युवा कार्यक्रम एवं खेल मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार के तत्वावधान में 27 अगस्त 2026 को डी.सी.एस.के. पी.जी. कॉलेज, मऊ में ‘विकसित भारत युवा कनेक्ट–स्पोर्ट्स एडिशन’ कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया जाएगा। मेरा युवा भारत (MY Bharat) एवं राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना (NSS) के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य युवाओं को खेल, युवा सहभागिता, राष्ट्र निर्माण और विकसित भारत के संकल्प से जोड़ना है।

लखनऊ, 28 अक्टूबर। उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने विकसित भारत-2047 के लक्ष्य को हासिल करने के लिए स्वच्छ, सतत और किफायती ऊर्जा व्यवस्था विकसित करने की प्रतिबद्धता दोहराई है। नगर विकास एवं ऊर्जा मंत्री ए.के. शर्मा ने कहा कि देश के भविष्य की ऊर्जा जरूरतों को पूरा करने और विकास की गति बनाए रखने में ऊर्जा क्षेत्र की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका होगी। इसके लिए नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा का विस्तार, आधुनिक तकनीक का इस्तेमाल और उपभोक्ताओं को भरोसेमंद बिजली उपलब्ध कराना जरूरी है।
  
ऊर्जा मंत्री बुधवार को ऑब्जर्वर रिसर्च फाउंडेशन (ओआरएफ) की ओर से ‘Powering Viksit Bharat 2047: Subnational Pathways for India's Energy Transition’ विषय पर आयोजित बैठक में वर्चुअल माध्यम से शामिल हुए। बैठक में स्वच्छ ऊर्जा को बढ़ावा देने, विद्युत आपूर्ति को विश्वसनीय एवं किफायती बनाने, बिजली ग्रिड के आधुनिकीकरण और ऊर्जा क्षेत्र में निवेश की संभावनाओं पर चर्चा की गई।

ऊर्जा मंत्री ने कहा कि देश में ऊर्जा संक्रमण की प्रक्रिया को प्रभावी बनाने के लिए राज्यों के बीच बेहतर समन्वय और सफल प्रयोगों का आदान-प्रदान जरूरी है। प्रत्येक राज्य की ऊर्जा संबंधी जरूरतों और परिस्थितियों के अनुरूप नीतियां तैयार करने से स्वच्छ ऊर्जा के विकास को गति मिल सकती है।

‘सेवा सेतु अभियान-सरकार आपके द्वार’ के तहत प्रत्येक विकासखंड में सात दिवसीय बहुउद्देशीय सेवा शिविर लगाए जाएंगे। 26 सितंबर से 2 अक्टूबर तक नौ तथा 2 से 8 अक्टूबर तक सात विकासखंडों में शिविर आयोजित होंगे। शिविरों में स्वास्थ्य मेलों के साथ विभिन्न सरकारी योजनाओं की जानकारी, आवेदन एवं सत्यापन की सुविधा उपलब्ध कराई जाएगी तथा पात्र नागरिकों को योजनाओं का लाभ दिलाकर 100 प्रतिशत सैचुरेशन का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।

India stands at the threshold of a demographic transformation that will redefine its economic and social future. For decades, our growth story has been powered by the demographic dividend of a young population. That advantage fuelled entrepreneurship, investment, and innovation. Today, however, a new opportunity is emerging—one that demands an equally ambitious vision.
The future of India's prosperity will not be shaped by youth alone. It will also depend on how successfully we enable millions of older Indians to live healthier, longer, more productive, and financially secure lives.

This is the foundation of the Longevity Economy.

Unlike the traditional view of ageing as a period of dependency, the longevity economy recognises longer lives as an economic asset. It encompasses the products, services, technologies, policies, and infrastructure that enable people to remain healthy, independent, socially connected, and economically active throughout later life. It is about moving beyond care to build an ecosystem that empowers people to age with dignity, purpose, and opportunity.

The scale of this opportunity is significant. According to the UNFPA India Ageing Report 2023, India had approximately 149 million people aged 60 years and above in 2022. By 2050, that number is projected to reach 347 million, representing 20.8% of the population. The population aged 80 years and above is expected to grow by around 279% during the same period. These figures represent one of the most profound demographic shifts in India's history.

The challenge, however, is not simply that people are living longer. It is ensuring they live better. Extending healthspan—the years spent in good physical, mental, and social health—is as important as extending lifespan. Healthier ageing reduces pressure on healthcare systems while enabling people to remain active, independent, and engaged for longer.

This transformation extends far beyond healthcare. It creates opportunities across preventive healthcare, digital health, AgeTech, insurance, retirement planning, accessible housing, mobility, wellness, nutrition, lifelong learning, travel, home modifications, and community-based services. Advances in artificial intelligence, wearable devices, remote monitoring, and assistive technologies are also reshaping how people age safely and independently.

A growing number of senior citizens today possess accumulated savings, home ownership, professional expertise, and decades of experience. They are not merely recipients of care—they are consumers, mentors, entrepreneurs, investors, volunteers, and active contributors to society. Businesses that understand their evolving aspirations will be better positioned to serve one of India's fastest-growing consumer segments.

Recognising this opportunity, NITI Aayog has highlighted the rapid emergence of India's silver economy and the opportunities it presents across healthcare, financial services, housing, technology, wellness, and home-based care. The report also notes that healthcare accounts for nearly 31% of senior citizens' expenditure, underscoring the growing demand for preventive healthcare, rehabilitation, home healthcare, and technology-enabled services.

The longevity economy is also poised to become a major employment generator. As India's population ages, demand will grow for caregivers, geriatric specialists, nurses, physiotherapists, rehabilitation professionals, psychologists, nutritionists, accessibility consultants, financial advisers, and AgeTech innovators. Building this ecosystem can create millions of skilled jobs while improving quality of life and reducing pressure on families.

The Economic Survey 2023–24 introduces the concept of the Silver Dividend, noting that enabling people aged 60–69 to remain economically active could increase GDP across Asian economies by an average of 1.5%. It recommends greater investment in lifelong learning, care infrastructure, workforce development, and age-friendly employment, recognising healthy ageing as both a social and economic priority.

Around the world, countries are already adapting to longer lives. Japan has pioneered AgeTech and robotics for independent living. Germany has strengthened long-term care systems, while Singapore has invested in age-friendly communities and ageing-in-place programmes. Their experience demonstrates that demographic change can become a catalyst for innovation when supported by forward-looking policy and private-sector investment.

India must now develop its own model. Urbanisation, migration, smaller families, and longer life expectancy have changed traditional caregiving patterns. Millions of older parents now live independently while their children pursue careers elsewhere. Meeting their evolving needs will require an integrated ecosystem that combines family support, technology, professional services, and community engagement.

The Government of India has taken encouraging steps through initiatives such as the Senior Ageing Growth Engine (SAGE), which supports startups developing solutions for older adults, alongside programmes that encourage healthy ageing and continued participation in society. Together, these initiatives signal an important shift—from treating ageing primarily as a welfare concern to recognising it as a driver of innovation and economic opportunity.

Yet government action alone will not be enough. Building a longevity economy requires collaboration between policymakers, entrepreneurs, healthcare providers, investors, insurers, technology companies, financial institutions, urban planners, academia, and civil society. Age-friendly infrastructure, preventive healthcare, digital inclusion, lifelong learning, and community-based support must become central to India's development agenda.

As India progresses towards Viksit Bharat 2047, success will not be measured solely by economic growth. It will also be measured by how effectively we enable people of every generation to live healthier, safer, more independent, and financially secure lives.

The question is no longer whether India will become an ageing society—it already is. The real challenge is whether we are prepared to transform longevity into a national advantage.

Building the longevity economy is not simply about caring for older citizens. It is about creating a future where longer lives fuel innovation, strengthen industries, generate employment, and enhance social well-being. India has the scale, entrepreneurial talent, and policy momentum to lead this transformation. If we act with vision today, longevity will become not a demographic challenge, but one of India's greatest economic opportunities.

Soummodeep Dey Appointed National Coordinator of Janata Congress Party, Set to Lead Youth Mobilisation Drive


Jamshedpur/New Delhi: In a move that signals a fresh push for youth-driven politics, the Janata Congress Party (JCP) has elevated Soummodeep Dey, a Jamshedpur-based social worker and youth activist, to the position of National Coordinator. The appointment, confirmed by the party's central leadership, marks a significant step up from his earlier role as the party's National Youth Coordinator and places him at the heart of JCP's organisational expansion across the country.Dey's rise within the party has been steady. Barely months after taking charge of the youth wing under the "People First, Nation First, India First" banner, he has now been handed a broader mandate that goes beyond youth mobilisation to include strengthening the party's central committee structure. Party insiders say the decision reflects growing confidence in his ability to build grassroots networks and translate organisational directives into on-ground action.
"This is not just a position, it is a responsibility to build the organisation across the country and give the voice of the youth a new direction," Dey said following the announcement. He added that his immediate priorities would be organisational expansion, deeper youth participation, and highlighting issues that directly affect ordinary citizens.
A Background Rooted in Service
Dey's political journey did not begin with the Janata Congress Party. Hailing from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, he first built a public profile through the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Seva Samiti, a community welfare organisation he founded that has been active in blood donation drives, cleanliness campaigns, disaster relief, and support for the underprivileged. The organisation's consistent work in the region earned Dey the Subhash Chandra Bose Icon Award 2025, a recognition of his contribution to social welfare and community development.
Before joining JCP, Dey was also associated with the National Students' Union of India, where he served as State Vice-Chairman of the Social Media Committee for Odisha. During his tenure, he was part of the coordination team for the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Odisha and held responsibilities within the University President NSUI campus committee, giving him early exposure to large-scale organisational coordination and student politics.
On the academic front, Dey holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA specialising in Human Resources and Marketing, a combination that party colleagues say has shaped his structured approach to organisational planning.
Party's Push for Youth Leadership
The Janata Congress Party, which has been steadily expanding its footprint, has framed the appointment as part of a larger strategy to bring younger voices into decision-making roles ahead of upcoming state elections, including in Manipur and Goa. The party has also been vocal on regional and cross-border issues, recently expressing solidarity with flood and landslide-affected communities in Nepal, an initiative in which Dey featured prominently as the face of the party's outreach.
Party leadership, in its formal note of congratulations, said it appreciated Dey's trust, passion, and dedication toward youth and the nation, adding that his leadership was expected to help empower young people and position them at the forefront of nation-building efforts.

With the appointment now official, attention turns to how quickly Dey can translate his organisational experience into visible results for JCP. For a party still building its national identity, the choice of a coordinator with a background in both grassroots social work and structured student politics appears deliberate. लखनऊ, 30 अगस्त 2026। राजधानी लखनऊ में आयोजित PM-SETU सम्मेलन में कौशल विकास, औद्योगिक प्रशिक्षण और उद्योगों की बदलती आवश्यकताओं के अनुरूप युवाओं को तैयार करने को लेकर महत्वपूर्ण विचार-विमर्श हुआ। सम्मेलन में देश के रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह, राज्य मंत्री जयंत चौधरी सहित केंद्र सरकार, रक्षा क्षेत्र, उद्योग जगत और कौशल विकास से जुड़े अनेक वरिष्ठ प्रतिनिधियों ने सहभागिता की।

PM-SETU के अंतर्गत एक Hub ITI और चार Spoke ITIs वाले क्लस्टर मॉडल के माध्यम से आधुनिक प्रशिक्षण केंद्र विकसित किए जा रहे हैं। यह मॉडल उद्योगों की वास्तविक आवश्यकताओं और युवाओं के कौशल के बीच मौजूद अंतर को कम करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा सकता है।
  

  
इस व्यवस्था के माध्यम से युवाओं को अत्याधुनिक तकनीकों, आधुनिक मशीनरी और उद्योग-उपयोगी कौशल का प्रशिक्षण मिलने के साथ बेहतर रोजगार अवसरों के द्वार खुलेंगे। इससे देश के औद्योगिक विकास के लिए आवश्यक कुशल मानव संसाधन तैयार करने में भी मदद मिलेगी।

 आजमगढ़। राष्ट्रीय खेल दिवस के अवसर पर पटेल मेमोरियल इंटर कॉलेज, अतरौलिया के विद्यालय प्रांगण में विभिन्न खेल प्रतियोगिताओं का आयोजन उत्साह और उमंग के साथ किया गया। प्रतियोगिताओं में विद्यार्थियों ने बढ़-चढ़कर हिस्सा लेते हुए अपनी खेल प्रतिभा और टीम भावना का शानदार प्रदर्शन किया। इस दौरान बालक एवं बालिका वर्ग में कबड्डी, वॉलीबॉल तथा बैडमिंटन सहित विभिन्न खेल प्रतियोगिताएं कराई गईं। मैदान पर खिलाड़ियों ने पूरे जोश के साथ प्रतिभाग किया। प्रतियोगिताओं के समापन पर विजेता और उपविजेता टीमों को MY Bharat की ओर से मेडल एवं ट्रॉफी प्रदान कर सम्मानित किया गया। वहीं, प्रतिभागी विद्यार्थियों एवं युवाओं को MY Bharat प्रिंटेड टोपी देकर उनका उत्साहवर्धन किया गया। कार्यक्रम में मुख्य अतिथि अरुण कांत सिंह के साथ विद्यालय के शिक्षक दिनेश सिंह, हितेश एवं दीनदयाल मौर्य, युवा स्वयंसेविका रंजन भारद्वाज तथा युवा स्वयंसेवक बृजेश यादव उपस्थित रहे। कार्यक्रम का संयोजन युवा स्वयंसेवक बृजेश यादव ने किया। मुख्य अतिथि एवं अन्य अतिथियों ने विद्यार्थियों को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि खेल शारीरिक स्वास्थ्य के साथ-साथ अनुशासन, आत्मविश्वास, नेतृत्व क्षमता और टीम भावना विकसित करने का प्रभावी माध्यम हैं। विद्यार्थियों को पढ़ाई के साथ खेलों में भी सक्रिय भागीदारी करनी चाहिए। कार्यक्रम के अंत में सभी प्रतिभागियों, शिक्षकों, आयोजकों एवं सहयोगियों के प्रति आभार व्यक्त किया गया। कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से “खेलेगा भारत, जीतेगा भारत—स्वस्थ युवा, सशक्त भारत” का संदेश दिया गया।

मऊ। युवा कार्यक्रम एवं खेल मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार के तत्वावधान में 27 अगस्त 2026 को डी.सी.एस.के. पी.जी. कॉलेज, मऊ में ‘विकसित भारत युवा कनेक्ट–स्पोर्ट्स एडिशन’ कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया जाएगा। मेरा युवा भारत (MY Bharat) एवं राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना (NSS) के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य युवाओं को खेल, युवा सहभागिता, राष्ट्र निर्माण और विकसित भारत के संकल्प से जोड़ना है।
  

  
कार्यक्रम में देशभर के लगभग 1600 से अधिक स्थानों से लाखों युवा जुड़ेंगे। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी वर्चुअल माध्यम से युवाओं को संबोधित करेंगे। इसके बाद स्थानीय स्तर पर युवा संवाद का आयोजन होगा, जिसमें युवा अपने विचार, सुझाव और आकांक्षाएं साझा करेंगे।
