Khabar kolkata sports Desk : The two-day BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) workshop, involving all senior and age-group coaches of Bengal, which began on Thursday concluded at the Eden Gardens on Friday.

All coaches of Bengal senior men’s, women’s, U-23 men’s, U-16 men’s, U-13 boys, U-23 women’s, U-19 women’s, Vision 2028, various First Division clubs and other CAB age-groups took part in the workshop.

Some of the topics covered in the workshop included leadership group formation, core team values, bridging age-group coaching, skill acquisition, modern coaching concepts.

Khabar kolkata Sports Desk : Riding on a clinical all-round performance, Bengal outclassed Himachal Pradesh by 2 wickets in the summit clash on Thursday to emerge champions of Under-19 Men's Inter State Multi-Day

Tournament (Siechem Trophy).

Bengal's Ashutosh Kumar (4-20) was awarded the man of the match for his superb bowling effort. Ashutosh was also named the man of the series.

Opting to bat in Pondicherry, Himachal Pradesh lost wickets at regular intervals and were bundled out for 197 in 57.5 overs. Vaastav Garg top-scored with 55 runs.

Besides Ashutosh, Rohit Das (2-24), Arjun (2-47), Agastya Shukla (1-36) and Sayan Paul (1-1) were impressive with the ball.

In reply, Bengal went over the line, scoring 199/8 in 40.4 overs.

Sayan (65), Rajesh Mondal (52), Aditya Roy (36), Abhiprai Biswas (26) were the star performers with the bat for Bengal.

Khabar kolkata sports Desk: Ahead of the forthcoming BCCI Domestic 2025-2026 season, Bengal Senior Women's team members assembled and began their preparations on Monday.

At the 22 Yards Sports School Ground, the Senior team began their training under the watchful eyes of head coach Probal Dutta, Women's cricket icon and team mentor Jhulan Goswami, strength and conditioning coach Biswanath Pradhan.

The session began with a pep talk by head coach Dutta, followed by warm-up session, core strengthening exercises, agility drills and flexibility exercises.

 Sports Desk: After a promising start to their Calcutta Football League (CFL) 2025 campaign, Mohammedan Sporting Club is gearing up for their second fixture, set to take place on Wednesday, July 9 against United Sports Club at the Naihati Bankimanjali Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 3 PM.

The Black and White Brigade earned a hard-fought point in their opening match against Calcutta Police Club, showcasing moments of brilliance and resilience. Guided by head coach Mehrajuddin Wadoo, the youthful Mohammedan SC squad is gaining confidence and match sharpness with each outing.

 Sports Desk : Skipper Mita Paul's all-round brilliance helped Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers clinch their second Bengal Pro T20 League title after beating Sobisco Smashers Malda by 16 runs via DLS method in rain-affected match at the iconic Eden Gardens on Saturday.

Mita (51, 2-12) was awarded the player of the match for her brilliant skills with both bat and ball. 

Put into bat, defending champions Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers scored 104 in 19.5 overs..

Jeni Parvin (3-7), Arun Burman (2-17), Riya Kr Mahato (1-16) and Jhumia Khatun (1-23) stood out with the ball for Malda.

In reply, Sobisco Smashers Malda were 22/4 in 5.2 overs when rain stopped play. With the weather showing no signs improvement, Kolkata Tigers were declared winners by 16 runs via DLS method. 

Prativa Mandi (2-10) and Mita were superb with the ball for Kolkata.

*Bengal Pro T20 League teams pay tribute to Dilip Doshi with a minute's silence*

Sports Desk: The Bengal Pro T20 League men’s and women’s team members on Tuesday paid their tribute to former India and Bengal spinner Dilip Doshi, who left for the heavenly abode on Monday at the age of 77.

A minute’s silence was observed at all three grounds, Eden Gardens, JU 2nd Campus, Salt Lake and 22 Yards Sports School Ground, before the start of play to pay respect to late Doshi.

All the players also wore black armbands to pay respect to late Doshi.

Late Doshi played 33 Tests and 15 ODIs from 1979 to 1983. In his 33 Tests, he took 114 wickets while bagging 22 wickets in his 15 ODIs.

Doshi played 238 First-Class matches, claiming a staggering 898 wickets. Doshi, who bowled with a classical left-armer's action, played first-class cricket for Bengal.

With three wins from five games, Howrah currently have seven points while Malda go down one place to fourth spot with 5 points from five games.

Put into bat, Adamas Howrah Warriors posted a challenging 161/7 in 20 overs. Shashank Singh (56 off 47), Aditya Purohit (41 off 22), Jayveer (28 off 27) were the star batters.

Mukesh Kumar, who returned after India A assignment, was the pick of the Malda bowlers bagging 3 for 41.

Chasing the target, Sobisco Smashers Malda fell short, scoring 151/6 in 20 overs. Akhil (31 off 25), Writtick Chatterjee (28 off 25) impressed with the bat.

Opting to bat, Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers scored a challenging 178/4 in 20 overs, thanks to Karan Lal (51 off 43), Abishek Porel (50 off 37) and Ronit Ghosh (44 not out off 25).

In reply, Servotech Siliguri Strikers were 35/0 in 3 overs when rain stopped play. With the weather showing no signs of improvement, the match was called off and points were shared between both the teams.

Sports Desk: In one of the most exciting run-chases in Bengal Pro T20 League, Adamas Howrah Warriors successfully chased down a challenging target to outclass Rashmi Medinipur Wizards by six wickets in a thrilling match at the Eden Gardens on Monday.

Chasing 175 to win, Adamas Howrah Warriors went over the line comfortably, scoring 175/4 in 16.1 overs.

Shakir Habib Gandhi was the star performer, smashing an unbeaten 73 off just 38 balls to single-handedly take Howrah to victory. Enroute his match-winning knock, Gandhi hit seven fours and four sixes. He was well supported by Pramod Chandila (43 off 32).

Earlier, put into bat after the game was reduced to 17-overs-a-side, Rashmi Medinipur Wizards posted 174/4 in the allotted overs.

Ranjot Singh Khaira (59 off 41), Sudip Chatterjee (33 not out off 15), Vivek Singh (30 off 23) were the pick of the Medinipur batters.

After winning the toss and opting to field, Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers showcased an all-round performance that secured them the win with 10 balls to spare.

Sobisco Smashers Malda, batting first, posted a total of 140 for 5 in 20 overs. The innings was anchored by Shrabani Pal, who scored a well-crafted 55 off 48 balls (4 fours), and Sukanya Parida, who contributed 31 off 25 balls (3 fours).

For Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers, the standout bowlers were Mita Paul, who claimed 2 wickets for 20 runs in 4 overs, and Salma Khatun (U-15), who also picked up 2 wickets conceding 40 runs in her spell.
