अफगानिस्तान के विदेश मंत्री आमिर खान मुत्ताकी की दिल्ली में हुई प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में महिला पत्रकारों को बैन करने का मामला तूल पकड़ता जा रहा है। इस मामले में कांग्रेस सांसद राहुल गांधी ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी पर निशाना साधा है। इससे पहले कांग्रेस सांसद प्रियंका गांधी ने भी पीएम मोदी से तीखा सवाल किया।

दिल्ली में शुक्रवार अफगानिस्तान के विदेश मंत्री आमिर खान मुतक्की द्वारा आयोजित प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में महिला पत्रकारों को शामिल नहीं किए जाने पर कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी पर तीखा हमला बोलाते हुए कहा कि जब प्रधानमंत्री ऐसे भेदभाव पर चुप रहते हैं तो यह पूरे देश की महिलाओं के प्रति कमजोरी और असंवेदनशीलता का संदेश देता है।

इससे पहले प्रियंका गांधी ने अपने आधिकारिक 'एक्स' हैंडल के जरिए पीएम मोदी को टैग करते हुए पोस्ट में लिखा, 'प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी, कृपया यह स्पष्ट करें कि तालिबान के प्रतिनिधि की भारत यात्रा के दौरान उनकी प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस से महिला पत्रकारों को हटाने को लेकर आपकी क्या स्थिति है?' उन्होंने आगे लिखा, 'अगर महिलाओं के अधिकारों को लेकर आपकी मान्यता सिर्फ एक चुनाव से दूसरे चुनाव तक सीमित दिखावा नहीं है, तो फिर हमारे देश में, जहां महिलाएं हमारी रीढ़ हैं, हमारी शान हैं, इतनी योग्य महिला पत्रकारों का यह अपमान कैसे होने दिया गया?

गुजरात ATS के हत्थे चढ़ी झारखंड की शमा परवीन, बेंगलुरु से गिरफ्तारी के बाद अलकायदा टेरर मॉड्यूल का खुलासा

गुजरात एटीएस ने बेंगलुरु अलकायदा से जुड़ी शमा परवीन को गिरफ्तार किया है। शमा परवीन की गिरफ्तारी बेंगलुरु में एक किराए के मकान से की गई है। गिरफ्तारी के बाद जांच में पाया गया कि शमा परवीन का झारखंड से संबंध है। शमा परवीन मूल रूप से कोडरमा जिले के झुमरीतिलैया शहर के हसनाबाद की रहने वाली है। 30 वर्षीय शमा परवीन पिछले कुछ वर्षों से बेंगलुरु में रह रही थी। शमा की गिरफ्तारी के बाद झारखंड से आतंकी संगठन के तार एक बार फिर जुड़ गए हैं। 

  


अपने पिता शमशुल हक की 2019 में मौत के बाद से शमा परवीन का पूरा परिवार बेंगलुरु में रहता है। गुजरात एटीएस शमा के सोशल मीडिया पर नजर बनाई हुई थी और जांच में पता चला कि आतंकी विचारधारा को प्रसारित कर रही थी। उसकी ओर से आतंकी संगठन अलकायदा इन इंडियन सबकॉन्टिनेंट के लिए काम किया जा रहा था।

गुजरात एटीएस ने जब सोशल मीडिया पर शमा की गतिविधि को देखा। तब टेरर मॉड्यूल के संपर्क में रहने वालों को ट्रैक करना शुरू किया। शुरुआती जांच में यह भी पता चला है कि शमा परवीन की ओर से आतंकी विचारधारा का प्रचार प्रसार किया जा रहा था। इसी की वजह से वो एटीएस की रडार पर आई। जानकारी के मुताबिक बेंगलुरु में अपने छोटे भाई के साथ एक किराए के मकान में रहकर शमा आतंकी गतिविधियों को अंजाम दे रही थी।

शमा परवीन की गिरफ्तारी 22 जुलाई को अलकायदा इन इंडियन सबकॉन्टिनेंट से जुड़े चार आतंकियों की गिरफ्तारी के बाद हुई। इनसे पूछताछ में शमा का नाम सामने आया। एटीएस ने दावा किया है कि वह इस मॉड्यूल की मुख्य साजिशकर्ता थी और युवाओं को कट्टरपंथी गतिविधियों की ओर प्रेरित कर रही थी।

शमा के कोडरमा जिले में रहने की जानकारी मिलने के बाद झारखंड एटीएस भी इस मामले में जांच कर रही है और उनके गतिविधि को खंगाल रही है। स्थानीय लोगों ने बताया कि शमा परवीन शुरू से ही धार्मिक प्रवृत्ति की लड़की थी। वह पारंपरिक इस्लामी पहनावे बुर्का आदि को प्राथमिकता देती थी और कम ही बाहर आती-जाती थी। हालांकि, उसकी सोशल मीडिया गतिविधियों को लेकर यहां किसी को ज्यादा जानकारी नहीं थी।

  * 27 साल बाद विधानसभा चुनाव में जीत हासिल करने के बाद अब दिल्ली में सरकार के गठन को लेकर बीजेपी में विचार विमर्श चल रहा है। हालांकि, ये लगभग तय है कि प्रधानमंत्री के दिल्ली लौटने के बाद ही मुख्यमंत्री और कैबिनेट मंत्रियों के नामों को फाइनल किया जाएगा। हाल के वर्षों में पार्टी नेतृत्व में ऐसे मामलों में चौंकाने वाले फैसले लिए हैं इसलिए पार्टी के सीनियर लीडर भी ये बताने की स्थिति में नहीं हैं कि दिल्ली के मुख्मंत्री के लिए किसका नाम फाइनल होगा। इससे पहले चर्चाओं का बाजार गर्म है। मुख्यमंत्री के नाम के लिए परवेश सिंह राणा, विजेंद्र गुप्ता समेत कई दिग्गज नेताओं का नाम चल रहा है। इस बीच कुछ रिपोर्ट्स में दावा किया जा रहा है कि बीजेपी सबको चौंकाते हुए किसी महिला को दिल्ली की कमान सौंप सकती है। भाजपा के एक वरिष्ठ नेता ने संकेत दिया कि पार्टी अपने सभी विकल्पों पर सावधानी से विचार कर रही है। राजनीतिक रूप से सबसे अच्छा काम करने वाले के आधार पर, पूर्वांचल पृष्ठभूमि, एक सिख नेता या एक महिला के उम्मीदवार पर विचार किया जा रहा है। मध्य प्रदेश, राजस्थान और ओडिशा के पिछले चुनावों से पता चलता है कि पार्टी नेतृत्व कोई बड़ी घोषणा करने से पहले अपने फैसले को फिलहाल गुप्त रखना चाहती है। ऐसे में लोगों के बीच ये उत्सुकता है कि आखिर सीएम कौन होगा। बता दें कि बीजेपी ने ही दिल्ली को पहली महिला सीएम सुषमा स्वराज के रूप में दिया था। इसके बाद कांग्रेस ने शीला दीक्षित को और फिर आम आदमी पार्टी ने आतिशी को कमान सौंपी। अब दिल्ली के नए मुख्यमंत्री के तौर पर इन महिला विधायकों का नाम चल रहा है। मुख्यमंत्री पद के लिए भाजपा के संभावित महिला चेहरों की लिस्ट में ये नाम शामिल हैः *रेखा गुप्ता-* रेखा गुप्ताा, जो शालीमार बाग सीट से विधायक चुनी गई हैं उन्हें इस लिस्ट में सबसे आगे देखा जा रहा है। वह भाजपा की महिला शाखा की राष्ट्रीय उपाध्यक्ष भी हैं। *शिखा रॉय-* शिखा रॉय ने ग्रेटर कैलाश सीट से जीत दर्ज की है और सीएम रेस में एक और मजबूत दावेदार हैं, जिन्होंने आप के सौरभ भारद्वाज को हराया है। *पूनम शर्मा-* पूनम शर्मा ने वजीरपुर सीट से जीत दर्ज की। उन्होंने आप के राजेश गुप्ता को हराया। पूनम शर्मा को 54 हजार 721 वोट मिले। बीजेपी नेता ने आप के राजेश गुप्ता को 11 हजार 425 वोटों से मात दी। *नीलम पहलवान-* नजफगढ़ विधायक नीलम पहलवान भी इस लिस्ट में हैं। जिन्होंने 1,01,708 वोटों के साथ बड़ी जीत हासिल की। नीलम के सामने आप के तरुण कुमार थे। सबसे बड़ी जीत दर्ज करने वाले उम्मीदवारों में भी उसका नाम है। *इन सबके अलावा दो और नामों की चर्चा हो रही हैः-* *स्मृति ईरानी-* पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री, 2024 के लोकसभा चुनाव में अमेठी से कांग्रेस के किशोरी लाल से हार गईं, लेकिन एक सीएम की लिस्ट में मजबूत दावेदार बनी हुई हैं। *बांसुरी स्वराज-* दिवंगत सुषमा स्वराज की बेटी, नई दिल्ली लोकसभा सीट से चुनाव जीतीं हैं। *मौजूदा विधायकों में से ही चुना जाएगा सीएम* वहीं चर्चा ये भी है कि इस बार मुख्यमंत्री, मौजूदा विधायकों में से ही चुना जाएगा। इसकी वजह ये है कि अगर किसी सांसद को सीएम बनाया जाता है तो दिल्ली में दो उपचुनाव कराने होंगे। एक मुख्यमंत्री बनने वाले के लिए किसी विधायक से इस्तीफा दिलाना होगा और फिर जिस सांसद को मुख्यमंत्री बनाया जाएगा, उसकी जगह लोकसभा के सदस्य के लिए उपचुनाव कराना होगा। यही वजह है कि शायद पार्टी नेतृत्व मौजूदा विधायकों में से ही किसी को मुख्यमंत्री की जिम्मेदारी सौंपे।
 

शरिया कानून के खिलाफ सुप्रीम कोर्ट पहुंची मुस्लिम महिला, बेटी को पूरी संपत्ति देना चाहती है महिला

सुप्रीम कोर्ट में एक मुस्लिम महिला ने याचिका दायर कर मांग की है कि उसे शरीयत कानून में विश्वास नहीं है और वह चाहती है कि उस पर उत्तराधिकार कानून लागू हो। महिला ने खुद को 'गैर-आस्तिक' बताते हुए मांग की है कि उनके उत्तराधिकार से जुड़े मामलों में मुस्लिम पर्सनल लॉ (शरिया कानून) की बजाय भारतीय उत्तराधिकार अधिनियम 1925 लागू किया जाए। महिला की याचिका पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने केंद्र सरकार को नोटिस जारी किया है और सरकार का इस मुद्दे पर पक्ष पूछा है। 

  


केरल के अलप्पुझा की रहने वाली एक महिला साफिया पी एम ने यह याचिका दायर की है। वह अपनी पूरी संपत्ति अपनी बेटी को देना चाहती हैं, लेकिन शरिया कानून के तहत वह केवल 50 प्रतिशत संपत्ति ही दे सकती हैं। इसलिए वह 'सेक्युलर लॉ' यानी भारतीय उत्तराधिकार अधिनियम के तहत लाभ चाहती हैं।

सफिया पी एम ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट में कहा है कि वह एक गैर-आस्तिक मुस्लिम महिला हैं। वह चाहती हैं कि उन्हें विरासत के मामलों में मुस्लिम पर्सनल लॉ (शरिया कानून) की बजाय भारतीय उत्तराधिकार अधिनियम, 1925 के तहत माना जाए। चीफ जस्टिस ऑफ इंडिया (सीजेआई) संजीव खन्ना, जस्टिस संजय कुमार और जस्टिस केवी विश्वनाथन की बेंच ने केंद्र सरकार को चार हफ्ते में जवाब दाखिल करने का निर्देश दिया है।

सफिया पी एम का कहना है कि वह इस्लाम को नहीं मानती, लेकिन अभी भी उसने आधिकारिक रूप से इस्लाम को नहीं छोड़ा है। शरिया कानून के अनुसार, जो व्यक्ति इस्लाम छोड़ देता है, उसे समुदाय से बाहर कर दिया जाता है और उसे माता-पिता की संपत्ति में कोई विरासत का अधिकार नहीं मिलता। याचिका में यह भी कहा गया है कि शरिया कानून के तहत, एक मुस्लिम व्यक्ति अपनी संपत्ति का एक तिहाई से अधिक हिस्सा वसीयत के माध्यम से नहीं दे सकता है। सफिया पी एम की एक बेटी है। उनकी चिंता है कि उनकी मौत के बाद, पूरी संपत्ति उनकी बेटी को नहीं मिलेगी, क्योंकि उनके पिता के भाइयों का भी उस पर दावा होगा।

केंद्र सरकार की तरफ से अदालत में पेश हुए सॉलिसिटर जनरल तुषार मेहता ने कहा कि 'याचिका में रोचक सवाल उठाया गया है।' मेहता ने कहा कि 'याचिकाकर्ता महिला एक पैदाइशी मुस्लिम है। उनका कहना है कि वे शरीयत कानून में विश्वास नहीं रखती और यह एक पिछड़ा हुआ कानून है।' पीठ ने कहा कि 'यह आस्था के खिलाफ है और आपको (केंद्र सरकार) इसके जवाब में हलफनामा दाखिल करना होगा।' इस पर सॉलिसिटर जरनल तुषार मेहता ने जवाब दाखिल करने के लिए तीन हफ्ते का समय मांगा। इस पर पीठ ने चार हफ्ते का समय देते हुए अगली सुनवाई की तारीख 5 मई तय की। इस याचिका पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने बीते साल 29 अप्रैल को भी केंद्र सरकार और राज्य सरकार से जवाब मांगा था।

गुजरात एटीएस ने बेंगलुरु अलकायदा से जुड़ी शमा परवीन को गिरफ्तार किया है। शमा परवीन की गिरफ्तारी बेंगलुरु में एक किराए के मकान से की गई है। गिरफ्तारी के बाद जांच में पाया गया कि शमा परवीन का झारखंड से संबंध है। शमा परवीन मूल रूप से कोडरमा जिले के झुमरीतिलैया शहर के हसनाबाद की रहने वाली है। 30 वर्षीय शमा परवीन पिछले कुछ वर्षों से बेंगलुरु में रह रही थी। शमा की गिरफ्तारी के बाद झारखंड से आतंकी संगठन के तार एक बार फिर जुड़ गए हैं। 

  


अपने पिता शमशुल हक की 2019 में मौत के बाद से शमा परवीन का पूरा परिवार बेंगलुरु में रहता है। गुजरात एटीएस शमा के सोशल मीडिया पर नजर बनाई हुई थी और जांच में पता चला कि आतंकी विचारधारा को प्रसारित कर रही थी। उसकी ओर से आतंकी संगठन अलकायदा इन इंडियन सबकॉन्टिनेंट के लिए काम किया जा रहा था।

गुजरात एटीएस ने जब सोशल मीडिया पर शमा की गतिविधि को देखा। तब टेरर मॉड्यूल के संपर्क में रहने वालों को ट्रैक करना शुरू किया। शुरुआती जांच में यह भी पता चला है कि शमा परवीन की ओर से आतंकी विचारधारा का प्रचार प्रसार किया जा रहा था। इसी की वजह से वो एटीएस की रडार पर आई। जानकारी के मुताबिक बेंगलुरु में अपने छोटे भाई के साथ एक किराए के मकान में रहकर शमा आतंकी गतिविधियों को अंजाम दे रही थी।

शमा परवीन की गिरफ्तारी 22 जुलाई को अलकायदा इन इंडियन सबकॉन्टिनेंट से जुड़े चार आतंकियों की गिरफ्तारी के बाद हुई। इनसे पूछताछ में शमा का नाम सामने आया। एटीएस ने दावा किया है कि वह इस मॉड्यूल की मुख्य साजिशकर्ता थी और युवाओं को कट्टरपंथी गतिविधियों की ओर प्रेरित कर रही थी।

शमा के कोडरमा जिले में रहने की जानकारी मिलने के बाद झारखंड एटीएस भी इस मामले में जांच कर रही है और उनके गतिविधि को खंगाल रही है। स्थानीय लोगों ने बताया कि शमा परवीन शुरू से ही धार्मिक प्रवृत्ति की लड़की थी। वह पारंपरिक इस्लामी पहनावे बुर्का आदि को प्राथमिकता देती थी और कम ही बाहर आती-जाती थी। हालांकि, उसकी सोशल मीडिया गतिविधियों को लेकर यहां किसी को ज्यादा जानकारी नहीं थी।

  * 27 साल बाद विधानसभा चुनाव में जीत हासिल करने के बाद अब दिल्ली में सरकार के गठन को लेकर बीजेपी में विचार विमर्श चल रहा है। हालांकि, ये लगभग तय है कि प्रधानमंत्री के दिल्ली लौटने के बाद ही मुख्यमंत्री और कैबिनेट मंत्रियों के नामों को फाइनल किया जाएगा। हाल के वर्षों में पार्टी नेतृत्व में ऐसे मामलों में चौंकाने वाले फैसले लिए हैं इसलिए पार्टी के सीनियर लीडर भी ये बताने की स्थिति में नहीं हैं कि दिल्ली के मुख्मंत्री के लिए किसका नाम फाइनल होगा। इससे पहले चर्चाओं का बाजार गर्म है। मुख्यमंत्री के नाम के लिए परवेश सिंह राणा, विजेंद्र गुप्ता समेत कई दिग्गज नेताओं का नाम चल रहा है। इस बीच कुछ रिपोर्ट्स में दावा किया जा रहा है कि बीजेपी सबको चौंकाते हुए किसी महिला को दिल्ली की कमान सौंप सकती है। भाजपा के एक वरिष्ठ नेता ने संकेत दिया कि पार्टी अपने सभी विकल्पों पर सावधानी से विचार कर रही है। राजनीतिक रूप से सबसे अच्छा काम करने वाले के आधार पर, पूर्वांचल पृष्ठभूमि, एक सिख नेता या एक महिला के उम्मीदवार पर विचार किया जा रहा है। मध्य प्रदेश, राजस्थान और ओडिशा के पिछले चुनावों से पता चलता है कि पार्टी नेतृत्व कोई बड़ी घोषणा करने से पहले अपने फैसले को फिलहाल गुप्त रखना चाहती है। ऐसे में लोगों के बीच ये उत्सुकता है कि आखिर सीएम कौन होगा। बता दें कि बीजेपी ने ही दिल्ली को पहली महिला सीएम सुषमा स्वराज के रूप में दिया था। इसके बाद कांग्रेस ने शीला दीक्षित को और फिर आम आदमी पार्टी ने आतिशी को कमान सौंपी। अब दिल्ली के नए मुख्यमंत्री के तौर पर इन महिला विधायकों का नाम चल रहा है। मुख्यमंत्री पद के लिए भाजपा के संभावित महिला चेहरों की लिस्ट में ये नाम शामिल हैः *रेखा गुप्ता-* रेखा गुप्ताा, जो शालीमार बाग सीट से विधायक चुनी गई हैं उन्हें इस लिस्ट में सबसे आगे देखा जा रहा है। वह भाजपा की महिला शाखा की राष्ट्रीय उपाध्यक्ष भी हैं। *शिखा रॉय-* शिखा रॉय ने ग्रेटर कैलाश सीट से जीत दर्ज की है और सीएम रेस में एक और मजबूत दावेदार हैं, जिन्होंने आप के सौरभ भारद्वाज को हराया है। *पूनम शर्मा-* पूनम शर्मा ने वजीरपुर सीट से जीत दर्ज की। उन्होंने आप के राजेश गुप्ता को हराया। पूनम शर्मा को 54 हजार 721 वोट मिले। बीजेपी नेता ने आप के राजेश गुप्ता को 11 हजार 425 वोटों से मात दी। *नीलम पहलवान-* नजफगढ़ विधायक नीलम पहलवान भी इस लिस्ट में हैं। जिन्होंने 1,01,708 वोटों के साथ बड़ी जीत हासिल की। नीलम के सामने आप के तरुण कुमार थे। सबसे बड़ी जीत दर्ज करने वाले उम्मीदवारों में भी उसका नाम है। *इन सबके अलावा दो और नामों की चर्चा हो रही हैः-* *स्मृति ईरानी-* पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री, 2024 के लोकसभा चुनाव में अमेठी से कांग्रेस के किशोरी लाल से हार गईं, लेकिन एक सीएम की लिस्ट में मजबूत दावेदार बनी हुई हैं। *बांसुरी स्वराज-* दिवंगत सुषमा स्वराज की बेटी, नई दिल्ली लोकसभा सीट से चुनाव जीतीं हैं। *मौजूदा विधायकों में से ही चुना जाएगा सीएम* वहीं चर्चा ये भी है कि इस बार मुख्यमंत्री, मौजूदा विधायकों में से ही चुना जाएगा। इसकी वजह ये है कि अगर किसी सांसद को सीएम बनाया जाता है तो दिल्ली में दो उपचुनाव कराने होंगे। एक मुख्यमंत्री बनने वाले के लिए किसी विधायक से इस्तीफा दिलाना होगा और फिर जिस सांसद को मुख्यमंत्री बनाया जाएगा, उसकी जगह लोकसभा के सदस्य के लिए उपचुनाव कराना होगा। यही वजह है कि शायद पार्टी नेतृत्व मौजूदा विधायकों में से ही किसी को मुख्यमंत्री की जिम्मेदारी सौंपे।
 

शरिया कानून के खिलाफ सुप्रीम कोर्ट पहुंची मुस्लिम महिला, बेटी को पूरी संपत्ति देना चाहती है महिला

सुप्रीम कोर्ट में एक मुस्लिम महिला ने याचिका दायर कर मांग की है कि उसे शरीयत कानून में विश्वास नहीं है और वह चाहती है कि उस पर उत्तराधिकार कानून लागू हो। महिला ने खुद को 'गैर-आस्तिक' बताते हुए मांग की है कि उनके उत्तराधिकार से जुड़े मामलों में मुस्लिम पर्सनल लॉ (शरिया कानून) की बजाय भारतीय उत्तराधिकार अधिनियम 1925 लागू किया जाए। महिला की याचिका पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने केंद्र सरकार को नोटिस जारी किया है और सरकार का इस मुद्दे पर पक्ष पूछा है। 

  


केरल के अलप्पुझा की रहने वाली एक महिला साफिया पी एम ने यह याचिका दायर की है। वह अपनी पूरी संपत्ति अपनी बेटी को देना चाहती हैं, लेकिन शरिया कानून के तहत वह केवल 50 प्रतिशत संपत्ति ही दे सकती हैं। इसलिए वह 'सेक्युलर लॉ' यानी भारतीय उत्तराधिकार अधिनियम के तहत लाभ चाहती हैं।

सफिया पी एम ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट में कहा है कि वह एक गैर-आस्तिक मुस्लिम महिला हैं। वह चाहती हैं कि उन्हें विरासत के मामलों में मुस्लिम पर्सनल लॉ (शरिया कानून) की बजाय भारतीय उत्तराधिकार अधिनियम, 1925 के तहत माना जाए। चीफ जस्टिस ऑफ इंडिया (सीजेआई) संजीव खन्ना, जस्टिस संजय कुमार और जस्टिस केवी विश्वनाथन की बेंच ने केंद्र सरकार को चार हफ्ते में जवाब दाखिल करने का निर्देश दिया है।

सफिया पी एम का कहना है कि वह इस्लाम को नहीं मानती, लेकिन अभी भी उसने आधिकारिक रूप से इस्लाम को नहीं छोड़ा है। शरिया कानून के अनुसार, जो व्यक्ति इस्लाम छोड़ देता है, उसे समुदाय से बाहर कर दिया जाता है और उसे माता-पिता की संपत्ति में कोई विरासत का अधिकार नहीं मिलता। याचिका में यह भी कहा गया है कि शरिया कानून के तहत, एक मुस्लिम व्यक्ति अपनी संपत्ति का एक तिहाई से अधिक हिस्सा वसीयत के माध्यम से नहीं दे सकता है। सफिया पी एम की एक बेटी है। उनकी चिंता है कि उनकी मौत के बाद, पूरी संपत्ति उनकी बेटी को नहीं मिलेगी, क्योंकि उनके पिता के भाइयों का भी उस पर दावा होगा।

केंद्र सरकार की तरफ से अदालत में पेश हुए सॉलिसिटर जनरल तुषार मेहता ने कहा कि 'याचिका में रोचक सवाल उठाया गया है।' मेहता ने कहा कि 'याचिकाकर्ता महिला एक पैदाइशी मुस्लिम है। उनका कहना है कि वे शरीयत कानून में विश्वास नहीं रखती और यह एक पिछड़ा हुआ कानून है।' पीठ ने कहा कि 'यह आस्था के खिलाफ है और आपको (केंद्र सरकार) इसके जवाब में हलफनामा दाखिल करना होगा।' इस पर सॉलिसिटर जरनल तुषार मेहता ने जवाब दाखिल करने के लिए तीन हफ्ते का समय मांगा। इस पर पीठ ने चार हफ्ते का समय देते हुए अगली सुनवाई की तारीख 5 मई तय की। इस याचिका पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने बीते साल 29 अप्रैल को भी केंद्र सरकार और राज्य सरकार से जवाब मांगा था।
